    Bottle cap movement holder FTW. Nice tip, makes it a lot easier to place the movement in the case.

    Nice SKX! Another cheap tool to add to your arsenal would be a chop stick run through a pencil sharpener. It's great for the crown release, moving hands, etc. when you don't want to risk damaging anything. And it's free!

      What about the tiny wood splinters?

    • @Mikesmeyer88
      @Mikesmeyer88 Před rokem

      Why would you suggest that? I swear people say stuff just to sabotage others. Not sure why he wouldn't just use pegwood as that's the actual tool watchmakers use. Mostly for cleaning and doesn't splinter much.

    Great video as usual mate. In the next videos it would be a good idea to explain the main difference between white lume and the other a bit greenish/yellowish one. I bought a homage MM300 with white lume, it looks great with the white markers on the dial but is not as shinny as my homage captain Willard yellowish/greenish ones. Lovely channel, cheers

    Congratulations Your videos have an excellent content and your knowledge on the matter is superb. I would like to give my old seiko 7009 and citizen 8200 new looks since i believe such good movements do not deserve being taken apart and forgotten. Any video on such watches will be highly appreciated

    Love my Samurai, great choice for a dial. The hands are a bit dim, I have the same complaint with a recent build that I'm otherwise in love with.

    Why did you remove the legs of the dial and taped it on the movement?

    • @Mikesmeyer88

      Obviously he doesn't know how to solder, these seiko modders do the weirdest stuff. Itll spin back when it gets cold. People who use them don't care about craft of watchmaking they just want to show off their Chinese dial and hands inside a japanese/ chinese watch case is what it seems like.

      Take a look at this picture here, I've circled it for you. imgur.com/a/BlHMoXV
      Make sure the stem is pressed in fully in order for it to be visible. If the stem is pulled out to either the date change or time set setting it will recess into the movement. It only shows when the crown is pushed in.

    • @TheIronDuke9
      @TheIronDuke9 Před rokem +1

      @@ItsAnotherWatch Ok thank you - I didn't have the stem pressed in fully so that was the problem - thank you for the quick response, your video is excellent otherwise!

    Kind of a horrible way to attach the dial, kind of shit to me. Like turning the dial with the 3m adhesive is just a bad idea. It will probably turn back, and different temperatures are going to effect it. I can't believe this is how most people attach dials.
