    You need to allow 24 hours for the loctite to cure. Don’t screw it in early, and don’t use too much glue. I did both and it leaked and I locked the crown to the case lol.

    Smart and simple way to measure difference. Have another question regarding that custom painted rotor. How did you prime the rotor as it seems rotor except the weight is made of SS. I know there are some primers but they are aggresive-etching. Why did not Seiko made it's rotor like Miyota simple plain easier for applying sticker or engraving.

    Hi Darak,
    I am replacing a new stem and crown from a Tissot PRC 200 watch. Before I cut the stem what position does the stem need be at inside the movement. When in fully, one click adjusts the time second click out changes the date. Do I need to push the stem in as far as it goes and then take a measurement, or, pull it out the two clicks and then take the measurement. Look forward to your help.Andrew.

  • @ValentechTime
    @ValentechTime Před 2 lety +3

    Hello, great quality video! I think the length to cut is the distance from the watch case to crown, not from the crown tube to crown. This way you do not need to measure the stem and substruct the 7.56 mm from it's length. Also, it looks like you believe that the length of the stem inside the crown is the same as the length of the crown tube. If it is not, then your measurement would be inaccurate.

  • @andreharris9787
    @andreharris9787 Před 2 lety +1

    Is that a nh35? Cause that measurement of 7.56 to cut off is helpful.

    Hi ! Thanks for the tutorial !
    I did follow every step and think I got a satisfying result I guess, everything works as it should :)
    I have only question : is this normal that screwing the crown down also winds the watch a little in the same time on a NH35 movement ?
    On my other automatic watch (Tudor) the unscrewed position winds the movement like any other watch but when screwing its crown down, I don't feel the movement being wound. Instead, it seems to have a more "free" movement to go down the thread and does not give the sensation that the movement is being wound.
    Thanks :)

      Use the 222. It’s purple and for light jobs. You’ll never get it off again with what he’s using

  • @mnpd3
    @mnpd3 Před rokem +2

    Still trying to figure why you measured the full stem length, then removed 7.56mm from the overall length. You already know the stem had to be shortened 7.56mm, so why not just cut off that amount without measuring the uncut stem length? The 21.xxmm uncut stem length is not used in any calculation.

    • @johnguzzo6756
      @johnguzzo6756 Před rokem +1

      Because the way Darak did it you always have the finished measurement on your calipers just in case you have to remove a bit more from the stem .

    I don't know if this is relevant everywhere but I noticed you used Loctite 271 on the thread. I use Loctite 263 & it states on the bottle that it replaces Loctite 270 & 271. Sorry to be so anal I just thought it may help if anyone is looking to buy it. So remember kiddies Loctite 263 if you want to be a DIY pro like myself. Cheers for the great instructional video.
