I am so happy to have found you. This is not only a challenge because I have scoliosis, but I woke up about six months ago and could not move my right shoulder. I’ve heard of frozen shoulder, and considered a bunch of things, but I knew I had not been injured. It’s osteoarthritis, and although the MRI shows minimal damage, the pain is not. I miss traditional yoga so much, and everything I do involving my right arm brings pain. My lower back, I can’t figure out. I overexercise and probably need to do more cool down. I hope relief is on the horizon. Thank you so much.
I just stumbled upon your videos. I am an RN with a lot of weight to lose which has been put on hold by a horrible car accident. I shattered the bottom of my foot and have been unable to walk since 9/27/2023. I need exercises I can perform in bed that keep my weight off of my right foot. I love the somatic bedtime routine! Please keep doing what you’re doing and I’m going to dig through all of your videos.
I am so sorry to hear about your car accident. I am glad though that my classes are helpful for you! Sending you healing energy and thoughts!
trying to relieve chronic pain and kinda desperate so I tried this tonight and Im absolutely astonished at how much it helped. I might actually get some sleep tonight.
This was really amazing! It was my first time doing this and I could really tell the difference in how much my body loosened up and relaxed! It’s the best stretch I’ve ever gotten! My shoulder blades were really bothering me in the beginning and then by the end the pain was almost entirely gone! Plus the whole body was feeling so relaxed! Thank you so much! I’m so thankful I found you! God bless you for helping people with your channel ! I am truly grateful! Thanks
This is what I’ve been needing for a long time. I’ve been putting off exercising for months because I’ve not felt up to a “normal” workout. These somatic exercises are just perfect. I feel like I’m connecting my mind to my body again in a way that’s sustainable. I love this video and the morning routine as well. Thank you so much!
I’m so glad! Yes, somatic exercises are very sustainable! Happy holidays!
My right arm really cannot stretch straight above or over any ideas what i can do. Im loving your classes. x
@@jackiemacleod9416I have the same problem with my right arm. One day, I could no longer move it without intense pain. It’s osteoarthritis, and I’ve never seen anything come on so sudden. The MRI shows minimal damage, but I have almost no range of motion. I don’t know how to exercise so out of balance.
This is incredible! That twist move towards the end bringing the palms together is a new one for me and targets an area that's hard to get. Life saver!
I'm glad you found this class helpful!
Thank you, that was lovely. I enjoyed the whole practice but actually what I enjoyed most was your dog walking around! :)
You are so kind
Love this video! Thank you so much for creating. I would love more somatic workouts from you!
More coming soon! ☺️
This video has been a game changer for me. Thank you and I can't wait for more.
I am so glad you enjoyed it! stay tuned for more.
Lovely practice, I feel much better. Having your dogs in the background was very sweet.
Im so glad you feel better and loved seeing my pups. 🐶
Oh my god I have been looking for classes like this for years. Thank you 🙏
Glad it was helpful!
Woke up energized!❤❤❤❤
Great!
I’m currently healing from Lisfranc fracture/surgery so this routine and morning one are my go to. Definitely have made an impact on my healing and mental state.😊
This felt good as all Somatics do, hopefully toward helping to heal tightness in my body.
i sometimes do a somatic routine taught by Colm that includes this and more thank you.
The X stretch was a first for me and felt amazing! Adding to my daily routine. Thank you
Wonderful! I love that one too!
This video has been such a blessing to me. Thank you!!🙂
Thank you for sharing your experience!
Found you searching the word “somatic”…this was a fabulous way to end a long day sitting (we’ve been driving) … my body feels so much better! Relaxed and at ease! Those twisting X stretches helped my shoulder, too! I had strained it a bit carrying a heavy bucket of water and now I have my range of motion back again!! Thank you!
I’m so glad you found my channel and this class. I hope you find my other videos just as useful! ❤️
Thank you. I feel so much better and ready to sleep.
I have been looking for some somatic practices to help with my age related body aches and anxiety. I can feel the tension and aches leave my joints and muscles as I stretch and move! Looking forward to trying more of your exercises.
Im glad my classes are helpful. Keep it up. :)
I have been searching for somatic stretches all day and this is something i think is acheieveable and very relaxing ❤
Glad you like it!
Absolutely loved this video. I’m at the beginning of my journey. your patient descriptions of what to do and how my body likely reacted were so helpful and reassuring. Ty!
Thank you for your kind words. 💌

I loved this. Just getting back to Yoga after years of not doing it, and this was just what I needed. Just getting into somatic exercises, and I can't wait to start
Amazing!
Loved this! Really felt the difference afterward. Relaxed, lenghtened, and my LB was bothering me, and it felt better afterward.
I am so glad!
Amazing, thank you for sharing!
Glad you enjoyed it!
That was so beautiful!!! Would love more videos like this. Thank you!
Thank you! More to come!
There’s a dog on your sofa! Really enjoyed this practice. My search for somatic stretching brought me here. Thank you. ✌️
Ahaha yes! She is pretty quiet until she snores. 💤
Thank you.😊 I've been told to try somatic exercises to release trauma.
Thank you for this lovely stretch! Def coming back to your page!
Thank you! Please do!
Thank you very much, this is so relaxing. Been tense for a while but after this exercise my body feels light and l love it. Looking forward to every exercise you post
Glad you liked it!
Thank you ❤
I felt my body was flatter to the ground at the end 😊
I'm so glad you found the class helpful!
Love this vids. I hope you post more somatic exercises, it actually helps my anxiety and sleep problems
More to come!
Fabulous. Thank you. Namaste
Glad you enjoyed it!
I really enjoyed this! I am a beginner in every sense of the word and at the start of the practice, I thought I wouldn't be able to do it. I have A LOT of back pain. But...your accepting and encouraging words and tone got me through. And I felt more flexible and had less back pain by the end! I'd love more relaxing evening/night time sessions. 😊
Glad it was helpful!
This is perfect after a long day at work ❤
So glad!
Thank you so much for this! I am new to somatic exercises and this, along with your morning practice, have been a healing addition to my daily routine. I would love to follow along with you for more somatic sessions. Grateful in Vermont :)
Thank you for sharing your positive feedback!
I’m been trying to find exercises (mental/physical) that can help me with high cortisol. I’ve come across this and initially thought it was too simplistic to have any impact, but having finished the video it’s made such a difference! Thank you
Yes, it is very simple, but I am glad you found it effective!
Thank You. That last stretch was so amazing i want to stay in it. Great routine, thanks again.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Literally just came across this when looking at somatic yoga exercises so gave it a go. Oh wow what a difference after just 1 session. My long term shoulder pain eased, my stiff pelvis loosened and i slept well all night. Will definately be doing this more regularly. Thank You x
Thank you for sharing your experience!
I learned about somatic yoga from a colleague this afternoon and found your class in my search for a bedtime routine to try out. I sit for majority of the day and have noticed my lower back aching more frequently. Halfway through this routine I felt a dramatic difference with minimal aches. I'll be back for sure to see what you have for neck and shoulder routines. Thank you!
Sounds good! More to come!
Thank you so much. I really enjoyed this :) I really love your dog. I hope he will continue to show up in zour exercises❤
I have a question: I'm really new to these somatic exercises and it's my second time doing this one. Towards the end I started feeling the need to shake my body. Especially my right arm. And I was wondering, if that's normal.
Have a nice day/evening :D
It was interesting to experience how much closer the body got to the floor. I felt so relaxed afterwards!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you 💚
Thank you for this. Been having low back pain from work. Curious to try somatic exercise. Been lazy to get back again since my last year exercise. Glad to start a nice stretch.
You got this!
Love it! Thank you so much
Glad you like it!
Wow, that x stretch was amazing, thank you
It's definitely one of my favorites!
Thank you soo much for these exercise!!! So Wednesday was my first time trying your exercise then Thursday night in the middle of your exercise some how I went to sleep 😳😳😳it was the best nap I ever had!! I gently got up and pop to bed hoping I can continue this wonderful feeling. Next day SLEPT LIKE A BABY, something that I haven’t accomplished. Thank !!!
You're so welcome! I’m glad you enjoyed a restful nights sleep. 😴
Hi I loved how my body enjoyed this. I have herniated discs l4l5 and found this to be the perfect stretch for me thank you 😊
I literally pulled my back out yesterday for the first time in my life it was actually stuck and hurt to breathe, not sure how I managed to get unstuck but the pain has been there since it happened and this just helped tremendously
It felt really good I instantly felt everything you stated I would feel . If it’s possible I need a routine to release more tension in my shoulders and something can target my belly while releasing tension please and thank you
I love your dogs!
Thank you! Me too 😊
I love this practice & all your somatic practices. I’m a runner on the road to recovery from a sacral stress fracture & through a dexascan I’ve now found out I have osteopenia. Thank you for sharing these with us 💕🧘🏻♀️🙏🪷
First time on this channel and this was so awesome! Your guidance was just what I needed to reset the neutrality within my physical body! I am so much lighter ❤. Much gratitude to you for offering this. New subbie😊
Thank you for sharing your story. I hope my channel and videos help you find some relief.
Thank you ❤️🧘🏻♀️X
I just discovered your channel and am looking forward to trying this as I am very interested in somatic work.
I hope you enjoy it!
Thanks!
Amazing
Wow this felt really good 😮 thank you❤
You are very welcome. 😊
This is so nice. Can you share more short somatic routines? Maybe full body also with attention to shoulders and neck? Thanks so much. You videos help me a lot❤
I would love if you made a vid on hip openers!! I have lost a lot of mobility in my hip from some knee injury this past year that just had my limiting movement... And i felt in this vid it helped a lot already. Thanks again
Noted! I will put that in the rotation.
I’m new here and to this type of practice. I truly enjoyed this!
I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Love the videos that do stretches 10 to 15 minutes
Thank you for your feedback.
This has been incredibly helpful. I have bad right knee arthritis and I spend the majority of my day sitting (driving and desk job). I have been going to PT but these stretches have helped tremendously. I feel taller and my back is not as tight nor does it spasm anymore! Do you have exercises for knee arthritis and tight calves? Thank you!
Thank you for sharing your experience. I would recommend checking out this video for the feet and lower leg: czcams.com/video/TZKeIBczmBg/video.html and this video for the knees: czcams.com/video/qVSNgStDoQE/video.htmlsi=sFkt6OetSe3_IUgV
Amazing :)
Just found you a few days ago. Love the somatic movement. ❤❤ Are you able to, or have you already, post more somatic type sessions that are maybe targeted for weight loss and trauma release?
Thank you for your feedback. Yes, I am working on more somatic content!
More to come!
Im so grateful for your work. Ive been doing your videos and another somatic reset vid. In 7 days Ive come out of 2 months of constant flight mode to the point of just shaking. 🙏🏽❤
Im so glad. 🙏🙏🙏
Thank you for sharing your work and knowledge. I so appreciate your familiar approach and tone when guiding your exercises. It's so helpful for someone like me who is trying to be comfortable again their body and practice. The somatic videos have been very helpful with reconnecting and refocusing on my own body and active intentions. I'm looking forward to doing more practice with you!
Thank you so much for your kind words. I’m so glad my videos are helpful to you. 🙏
Thank you for your kind words. I am so glad my videos are helpful. 🙏
This is my first somatic exercise and I really enjoyed it. I felt relaxed, but I got a slight headache afterwards. Is that due to the lack of stretching? I want to practice more so I can work towards doing more weightloss exercises. Do you recommend any other videos?
❤❤❤
I'm a pc and have bad sciatica for years and apparently degeneration of sacral joint I tryed this at first my back cramped after felt really good ill keep trying these
I'm glad it helped!
Thank you, I enjoyed this video. Is there a modification to accommodate limited upper extremity range of motion on the left?
It depends on your range of motion. I am not sure if you mean your left shoulder in flexion, but if that is the case, you may want to try another video that limits overhead movements with your arms. I hope that answers your question.
Thank you@@laurenikedayoga
Thanks
Your video is very appealing! I have an aversion to being on the floor tho and try to find exercises I can do on my memory foam bed mattress. Would these be suitable for me to do there? Many thanks and best wishes!
Yes, you can practice in your bed. However, the floor provides more feedback.
That was amazing. I was sooo sore when I started and felt considerably looser when I was finished. Really light headed, though… anyone else get that?
Thank you for sharing your experience.
thank you so much for this, it felt amazing. I wonder why on the x stretch it really hurt where I think my ovaries are?
Hmm. If it hurts, I would stop and consult with a doctor. Otherwise, if it is just an intense stretch sensation, you may find that really nice.
This was magical, I lost track of how many times I yawned, but it must have been close to 20 times, is there any specific reason this happened?
Thank you for sharing your experience.
I am wondering I naturally hve a deep arch in my back which means when I’m lay flat it actually hurts my back- can these exercises help? X
Today was the first time I tried this. I want to make a 2 week commitment to doing this daily. I would like to do this eventually for losing weight. Do you have routines specifically for that?
I don't have any specific classes targeted towards weight loss. However, everyone responds differently and that may be a result of practicing yoga daily.
Lol took me a while before i realised the pillow on the couch is a sleeping dog😂😂😂very fluffy
Ahahah. As you can probably tell Zoey is the mellow one and Ziggy is more high energy.
Hi . I had surgery in my stomach area last week . When would you say it is ok to try these exercises ?
I would recommend consulting with your doctor prior to doing anything you are unsure.
The movement with grabbing knees, almost like a crunch/situp....is there an adjusted version for a handicap capable person or for a,person with limited movement capabilities? Even for the rest of the exercises?
Hi! Yes, you can keep doing the first version or you can even do some of these stretches sitting down. I hope that helps.
Can I do it on my bed Incase I fall asleep
Yes, definitely. I like to also lie on the floor by my bed, so these exercises and then roll into bed. :)
Is it normal to cry while practice?
"Normal" can be different for everyone, but yes, it is very common for an emotional release, especially if you are holding on to stuff. I hope that helps! :)
Yes it is, you’re releasing blocked emotions / energy.
Oh my God when I stretch my arms above my head, it hurts so bad laying down
If it hurts to do any practice, I would recommend pausing and consulting with a doctor prior to continuing.
When I put my arms up like that, they won’t even hit the floor
It's okay if your arms don't touch the ground. Everyone is going to be a little different. However, if it hurts to put your arms overhead, I would recommend stopping and consulting with a doctor.
I realized somatic practice annoys me lol
I appreciate your honesty in sharing your feelings about somatic practice. It's completely okay to have preferences and to find certain practices less appealing than others. Somatic practices can be quite different from traditional yoga or other forms of exercise, and they may not resonate with everyone.
If you're open to it, I'd love to hear more about what specifically annoys you about somatic practice. Your feedback could be valuable in helping me tailor future content to better suit the preferences of my audience. However, if somatic practice simply isn't your cup of tea, that's perfectly fine too. It's important to find movement modalities that feel right for you and bring you joy. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, and I hope you find practices that align better with your preferences and goals!
@@laurenikedayoga I don’t feel any better from doing it and I’m so stressed, have chronic illness, and stiff all the time. yin yoga or regular stretching/ vagus nerve exercises/qi qong seem to help me more.
Ty 💕
Because you have a lot of TRUAMA
@@IloveyouMamatec Welp
I am very interested in somatic expercise but youre talking too much here as oppose to actually doing expercises. Its too boring for me.
I am sorry you feel that way.
I hate the dogs roaming and sniffing shit through it.
No need for rude language
@@nuriadavis4871 get over it.
I'm sorry you feel that way. I film these classes in my home. It is my hope by creating these classes in my home, with my family that other people like yourself would feel empowered to practice in the comfort of your home with your family whether that include furry friends, children, or other forms of life and love. ☮
I think what you MEANT to say was:
Thank you for taking time to create free content that I can use to make my body a more peaceful place to reside.
I’m sure if you do this routine a few times your words might match what I’m sure you really meant to say 😊
Dang, girl. It's HIS house!!! 🐕😮 🏠 Dogs are very healing for most of us!
Wayyyyy too much talking.
All my somatic classes require lots of guidance and facilitation, which yes means more talking than a traditional flow class.
Amazing
Thank you! Cheers!
