    The funny thing about the Astros' "Tequila Sunrise" uniforms is that the fans and most of the players back then didn't like them. But now if you go to an Astros game, you're liable to see dozens of fans wearing them. Not to mention the fact the look has found it's way onto the side panels of their Sunday uniforms which were worn on the night the team won the 2022 World Series.

    I always loved the Astros 1970's look. The Indians had red, white and blue pants and jerseys and interchanged the colors, not just red on red. My favorite story was when John Lowenstein played for the Indians, he would go to the managers office where that days color combination was posted on the door, then promptly dress in the wrong combination. The other players would come in and see Lowenstein sitting at his locker and assume without checking that the combination Lowenstein was wearing was the right one for that day. Lowenstein would then change into the proper combination and go out for batting practice. When the other players went out for batting practice, they'd be dressed in a combination other than what Lowenstein and the coaching staff were wearing. Manager Frank Robinson would make them go in and change. The first couple of times Robinson blew his stack before everyone finally figured out what was going on.

    Thumbs down, but I do partly agree with you on some of your picks. Even the Houston Astros "Tequila Sunrise" uniforms. They should reimagine the look because as you discussed. Those were quite popular uniforms. Yes, a little too 'busy' with the rings. Simply put, less is more with the tequila sunrise. The Houston Astros uniforms I actually didn't like are the pin-striped and red shirt alternates. I also don't like the current t ones. I do like the "Space City" City Connect uniforms. I also liked their old-school road uniforms, but they should have been traditional road greys. Here's an interesting take on the Philadelphia Phillies uniforms. I wish they would go back to the 1970 - 1991 uniforms. Except the grotesque all burgundy uniforms. I love that color with the powder blue road uniforms. I wish the Chicago White Sox would go back to the early 1980s uniforms. I really love and miss those uniforms. Their current uniforms are becoming 'boring' and outdated.

    Call me overly nostalgic, but I love, Love, LOVE those 70s uniforms. Deliciously ugly but man they had character. All the powder blue aways, the Padres, Expos, Astros, A’s, etc, etc, etc. The White Sox? Oof, those were brutal- but I still love ‘em.

    The Houston Astros Tequila Sunrise jerseys are my favorite ones. I am biased as I am an Astros fan. But I wear my with pride and get many compliments when I do so. Also the rainbow sleeve look was great as well. Both of these jerseys are great and always will be! And even if those jerseys were worn as a new one today I would still love it and not hate it like you say MLB fans would do including Astros fans! You have no clue what you are talking about! SMDH! I wish the Tequila Sunrise jerseys would be in the rotation of jerseys the Astros wear today. That would be sweet if this were to happen!

    That Rays uni early on, looks like they just ripped off the old Padres uniforms and tossed their colors on them.

  • @KidFresh71
    @KidFresh71 Před 2 měsíci +4

    The Expos uni's were always fire. I so hope they come back into existence, along with the Nashville Stars getting an expansion club. Hoping in my lifetime MLB expands to 36 teams, and in addition to the Stars and Expos we get to see the: Utah Bees, Portland Pines (or Pioneers), Charlotte Knights, and Las Vegas Aviators. This is assuming the A's relocate to Sacramento?
    Also, the Rays relocating to Mexico and rebranding as the Mexico Azteca (in Mexico City or Monterrey) would be so lit. Or maybe a less controversial name would be the Mexico City Lobos. It would be such a strategic move to expand to places where you have a broadcast in French (Montreal) and Spanish (Mexico), to truly make it an international game. Really hope it happens in my lifetime.
    Final comment: always felt the Giants have super underrated uniforms. Sure, I'm a lifelong Giants fan and undoubtedly biased. But I would put them as #5 on the MLB uniform ranking list, behind the: Yankees, Dodgers, Cardinals, and A's. Especially the Giants grey road uni's. They look like the quintessential "bad guy" uniforms. Completely bad ass and I love it.
