Sorry about the vid cropping - Sweden's copyrights did NOT want this song uploaded 🤣 hope you enjoy anyway!
The SVT makes an excellent job producing the Melodifestivalen, but they really are a pain in the a*s when it comes to copyright claims... Thank you for your reaction. Love your face looking fascinated by this performance.
@@ronnopotter definitely a love/hate relationship after exporting the edited video 7 times last night 🤣 thank you for watching haha
I've lost track of the number of times I've listened to this song since Friday - such a great, propulsive, gritty electropop ballad that builds at just the right pace and Cornelia's voice gives me chills - I can honestly say now that Sweden are my pick to win the whole thing this year or, at the very least, they'll have the highest scoring entry sung in English
3 times this morning. I'm a sucker for her eyes. Petra said it best "LOOK INTO THE TV CAMERA" 🤣 you're not wrong though, this is shooting straight up to the top
I have been critical of the jury vote system in the past, but this year I'm very grateful for it. The reason Cornelia came second in the public votes is, in my opinion, because Anders Bagge is an extremely beloved person in Sweden. We all just love him so much and we're all so happy that he finally found the courage to perform like this (he's been very outspoken about his lack of self confidence when it comes to singing and having turned down opportunities in the past which he later came to regret). But of course, the rest of Europe doesn't have that kind of relationship with him, and his song/performance just isn't as strong as Cornelia's. So when it comes to our chances in Eurovision, this is definitely the best outcome.
GOD BLESS THE JURIES (..this time), well done to Anders as well! It takes great courage to perform, I'm glad he found his confidence, this is just as much his moment as it is Cordelia's 🤗
It should honestly be a rule that very famous people can't compete. So many times that a song won/came far simply because the artist is well known and not because the song is good
@@DenDarEmi Agreed. Anders song wasn't exactly anything original or good to the ears.
Yes, the jury really saved us.
Tacka gud för juryn!
I was also confused about the staging.
But Cornelia actually explained in an interview that she has "Synesthesia" which basically means that when you hear certain sounds or music you see colors in front of you.
So it actually explains what she's sees when she sing the song.
Oh right! I feel bad for calling it a planet now 😳
I had no idea about that! What is amazing is that the colors change between green, white and red (not exactly in that order) and are the colors of the Italian flag. Such an coincidence! Do you know if you can find that interview? I'm Swedish btw.
@@vixikie It was an interview she did on SVT after she won. They asked about the circle. And that was her answer.
Some minority of women have an extra cone in their eyes that see colours others don't see.
While a lot more men are colourblind (around 5%) than women (0.5%) , aint that just a fun fact?
She is majestic! This deserves to win
It would be well deserved!
I have listen to this song for months now, and still gets goosebumps! 💛💙
Magical performance! Can't wait to see her smash it tonight!
@@JarydReacts Oh yes! Have you heard the aucustic version (outside in blue on her CZcams)? 💙
This is one of the first times I am actually glad that we have jury votes in Sweden. I have always said that this should be a competition where the people alone should decide who we want to send to Eurovision, but to me this year the jury was more on point then the swedes them self. Love this song.
Love/hate relationship with the juries but they got it right this time 😉
Thank you sweet Jaryd! This is absolutely one of the best entries from Sweden. It's so good and it gives me the right vibes and goosebumps everytime I watch it. It's a real song, a real artist, a real voice, a real performance. I love it! It's as simple as that.
I love when an authentic performance comes along and just changes the game! Such a raw spectacle, and a favourite on my playlist!
This is the first Swedish entry I have truly loved in such a long time, I am so happy they have finally moved away from the overly polished and produced male soloists of the late 2010's, and moved to something much more raw and emotional and, authentic. I genuinely think Sweden have a chance of getting their 7th win, and I would be totally grand with that as this is such a great song and performance.
Don't get me wrong, I totally love the entries they send - but every now and then, an "Undo" moment is needed, and we have Hold Me Closer now 😍
Female prime minister female queen in Eurovision. We gonna rule ♀️💪😍 . I never watch the Swedish competitions of Melodifestivalen because it's so many crappy songs but this year and this song really surprised me. Go Cornelia !! And listen to this version. I melted.
I just loved it. I think it will go far in ESC 22. I’m from Sweden and I am proud of that we har sending this winning vibes song to Turin this year.
You should be proud, it's fantastic 😄
Im Swede to, and its my favorit song from Mello 🥰
I'm so happy for the international jury!! I'm always super frustrated with swedes voting for people they like instead of the best song.
She was in the first program and after that, I had a hard time getting excited about anyone else, I knew there wouldn't be a better song. She was the winner.
Thanks for uploading! ❤ Your reaction was a lot like mine when I first heard it. 😄
Haha thanks for watching! I am looking forward to reacting to the rest of the entries from Melfest 🤩
Yup, our ppl don't care about whats going to make it in eurovision, only if they like the person, not everyone watch eurovision, only melfest...
Sweden 🇸🇪 🇸🇪 🇸🇪
I was there at the final, she’s amazing!! ❤️
Jealous! It must have been amazing to see!
I’m a Swede 🇸🇪 Crying watching YOUR reaction of Sweden’s brightest star, Cornelia ⭐️ for the moment! I’m also crying every time listening this song for Eurovision 2022. Can’t stop listening 🤩 Also my first though first time was Bonnie Taylor’s raspiness of voice 🙏
Congratulations to you, you deserve this feeling! It is a beautiful entry, you should be very proud of it 🤗❤️
I thought of Bonnie Tylor as well
Love the song and Love ❤ Cornelia too. She is stunning!
I totaly agree! Goosebumps....the whole performance!
What I really love about this song is that it is just a good song. Like there are some Eurovision songs that are good songs but you have to be in a Eurovision kind of mood to listen to them if that makes sense. A couple songs are songs that I can see being played on the radio here in the states such as Arcade by Duncan Lawrence or Bones by Equinox, this song falls into the latter category.
I also love the redemption arc for her since she auditioned for Swedish Idol in 2008 when she was 16 and was rejected by the judges. Apparently the judges were just cruel to her instead of trying to be constructive. And one of the judges who rejected her was... Anders Bagge who got second at Melodifestivalen to Cornelia Jakobs this year.
It is very radio friendly, I could always be in the mood for this 😍 it does have that "Shallow" vibe which dominated the charts for many months
You can’t know for sure if Andres Bagge actually were as cruel as Cornelia said he was since her audition didn’t air. Anders also said in an interview that he wasn’t cruel or mean and that It is possible that she overreacted, she were only 16 after all.
@@albinviklund4297 That's fair enough. For what its worth, the articles I have read indicate it wasn't Bagge that was allegedly cruel, but another judge. So that's my mistake for misstating that. Bagge was a apparently still a no vote which I think still creates that same redemption arc of beating someone who rejected her. But your point is well taken.
Great staging, amazing vocal performance! She sure knows how to use her voice and and how to get the attention of the audience and cameras with her intense and direct way of preforming and telling the story of the song. The cool raspy voice voice gives the song a unique distinctiveness, and I love it. You're not wrong when saying she reminds a lot of Bonnie Taylor in her early 20's. One of the best female singing voices of this years Eurovision in my opinion, and another amazing entry from Sweden. They very rarely disappoint when it comes to Eurovision, which is not surprising because a lot of the best sing-songwriters/ songwriters, and artists in the world comes from Sweden. And besides all the Nordic countries have been known for ages and are famous for their incredible passion and love for music, and if possible they 'd fall asleep listening to or/and making music, or singing, lol..! Anyway, this delightful song will likely be among the top 5, and at least among the top 10.
a bit biased as I am from Sweden 🤭. I get shivers from Cornelia's voice and the whole feeling in the performance. I am pleased with Sweden's choice for the Eurovision song contest this year. Cornelia also has such a warm and down-to-earth personality that i hope will shine through in the TV screen🥰
Bit of bias here and there is fine 😉 I'm glad you enjoyed her performance!
Sweden even being imperfect is good. I loved the song since I watched it in the first heat of Melodifestivalen, and I just wanted her to be in Turin, I almost got a heart attack waiting for the results hahahaha And the song is sublime, her voice is amazing for the message in the lyrics. She has some flaws but I think it work like some Adele does in her music too. This is the most organic song Sweden has sent in ages. My personal winner of this year ESC. I didn't feel this emocional for a song since Portugal 2017.
Imperfections are better, there should always be room to grow and improve. She's come a long way since Idol 2008, who knows what she'll do in 2036 🤗
I think the screen with diffrent colors represents the feelings with the meanings in the lyrics
Better than my idea 🤣
I'm from sweden and it was the first time I heard it now. I haven't seen the swedish melodifestivalen or eurovision since sweden won with Måns Zelmerlöw😂
Really? I thought it was the only thing on Swedish TV this time of year haha
@@JarydReacts I hate it😂😂 but a good song
Loved this reaction video! The way you looked att her and smiled 😍😍 I love the song as well!
I think I fell in love 🥺 haha thank you for watching!
Agree! Love this song and performance. Of course, I am Swedish so...! She potentially has a possibility to win.
Let's hope for the best.
So heartwarming to take part of your reaction! Thank you!
Thank you so much 🥰
I love how you actually listen to the song. Not just sit there during the song and give a review like ”that was really good” at the end, like so many others. You actually analyze and give your honest thoughts. Love that!
Also, I think this might be the winner. So raw and emotional.
It's funny because I say "so good!" a lot during my reactions 🤣😭 but thank you, I love to offer feedback!
Lovely reaction and magnificent song❤️🇸🇪
Thank you! ❤️
I really like the song and I want it to win but there so many that doesn't like it, but so many that does it's gonna be fun to see were she is gonna place
This is very deep. You were perfect in the analysis. I'm going to start following you.
Thank you! Welcome to the circus 😝
Bonnie Tyler was the first thing that came into my mind when this tune went viral.
You were the first one I've seen to mention this.
Both Cornelias voice and the sound is like a perfect 80's in the 2020's.
Definitely Bonnie Tyler circa 1980s, not circa Eurovision 2013 😆
I gotta say as a Swede I'm tremendously proud of our song this year!! I didn't watch Melodifestivalen at all and was so happily surprised when I watched Eurovision :D I did really want Ukraine to win (
Haha very true. You should be proud, Cornelia gave it everything and the song is truly a beast 😍 worthy top 5 since day one!
Hi Jaryd someone looks good hehehe :) This is the the best reaction to Sweden's entry. U are like me, every time i hear this song it sends chills down my spine every time i hear it. I play at least 10 times a day. I think in another year without current events it would have beaten the UK and Ukraine to win, even though I should route for the UK. I have always liked the methodology in which the Eurovision representative is chosen. The Swedes love their music and it shows in the performer they select. Her voice is so powerful and you can feel the hurt that Cornelia feels when singing this, at some point we have all been there in a break up that took us by surprise. I am a Eurovision/Mellofest addict, and I think Mellofest 2022 yielded some of the best songs ever. The Lana Del Ray/Bonnie Tyler soundalike from Cornelia just wows. I will def be listening to more of her music and subscribing to your channel haha. This is one song i would happily play as loud as possible in my car. I almost get the impression that this is a revenge is sweet song, as in although the break up hurt, she still wishes the best for her partner, and that is the best counter-hurt to give someone so the pain is subdued within yourself so you can move on without regret, but makes the partner think about their actions. Keep up the good work and stay safe :) xxx
Haha thank you, welcome to the family, hope you enjoy the content! I am very excited to react to Melfest 23 and the other NFs, so many artists to discover! Cornelia is an easy listen, any time of the day, giving raw soul, authentic passion, can't wait to see more content from here, and hopefully similar music from next year's entries!
@@JarydReacts yeh I'm making a calander to list all the nf for next seasons so I can watch them all. Also I'm going to have a esc/melfest party for next season
Can you react to the Melodifestivalen finalists? It would be interesting to hear who you think should have won if Cornelia didn't
I don't normally do the NFs, but for you, I think I might just have to! 😉❤️
The swedes know how to produce a success. The composition of this song is amazing. I especially love the instrumentation and the build up of the song. And she has a strong stage presence.
Love that you are as confused about that round screen as I was! 😂 Really hope they will rework the stage performance for the semifinals! Adore the song though! She was my favourite!
I think its supposed to be the sun. She sings about the sunrise, so I assume when it turns red = the sunrise
Egg, planet, I called it everything 🤣😳 gorgeous voice though!
@@micromanage22 good point!
I don't want it to be in the top 5, but I want you to win. If it wasn't for the war in Ukraine, It would definitely win. One of the best songs that competed at Eurovision. Everything is perfect. A song that has everything. Voice, music, lyrics. It has several musical segments such as last year's Maneskin song. It's a rhythmic ballad, electropop, rocknroll etc. A perfect love song.
Eurovision is unpredictable, we have no idea what will go down. I don't doubt this will qualify, I don't doubt this will get to the top 5. Winning? Who knows 🤫
I just keep seeing myself in a hot perfect summer day in sweden, after 6 months of winter. With some friends in the backyard with some BBQ, and this blasting in the car on my way to that BBQ or at the BBQ :D.
I have also been listening to this non-stop, its fucking great. :)
That's awesome! Certainly could be the hit of the summer ☀️
I love this. Amazing song. Way too good for eurovision tbh...
Hey now, Eurovision is bae 😉
Es la mejor cancion
I would say it's definitelly top 3, personally hoping this will win! From 🇷🇸
I'm warming to the Swedish entry. If they will equal Irelands record of most wins this year, I'm unsure. Although it looks very likely that it will be a top 5 finish. Cornelias' voice is quite unique, and I think that will stand out to her advantage.
Sweden will claim their 7th win eventually, it's inevitable. This song has the potential, but a top 5 is just as impressive 😊
I LOVE this song!
You have a really cute smile tbh 🐙
Haha thank you very much 😆
The green thing is the sunrise... 🤗
...that makes a lot more sense
A little "fun" fact about her:
1. She bough the green ring on her left hand when she was 6 years old.
2. She song is about a breakup she had and that's why the song is so raw and emotional. But when she wrote this song she fell in love with the co-writer (David Zanden)
3. About the circle. She has a diagnosis called "Synesthesia" that does that she sees colours when she sings and talkes. So if she for example says "Alex" and sees green. So when se wroted this song the saw green, yellow, orange and red the colours of the circle if mostly green, and then a little yellow, orange and then green. Depends on which word she sings.
Wow thank you for those interesting facts, love that! 😁 love from UK 🇬🇧
It has the ”driving into sunset” vibe.
I wish I knew how to drive
SWEDEN 🇸🇪⭐🇸🇪⭐🇸🇪
You should listen to the winning performance, it was even better. Goosebumps when she sang out
YEEES
I'll check it out 😁
The circle thingy with a focal point in the middle works to visually collapse that huge Melfest stage and draw the attention onto Cornelia and her super intimate song. Sure, she could have used just a single light blasting on her from above instead of this contraption, but that's too cabaret and this song obviously isn't that.
I want a circle thingy
Fact for all non-swedes. Cornelia Jacobs auditioned in the Swedish version of Idol back in 2008 - at that time she was 16 years old. She was roasted by the jury who called her talenless. Anders Bagge, who came on second place in Melodifestivalen, was one of the jurors who neclected her back in 2008. He apoligezed to her after the finale with the words "Shit, I was compleatly wrong"
14 years is a long time! I can't speak for Cornelia back then, but whatever she has done since, she has earned her moment, cannot wait to see her bring the house down at Eurovision 🤗
The best swedish entry since "Euphoria".
OOOOOO controversial yet brave
🤗🇸🇪🤩😍
I from Eskilstuna in sweden
Greetings! 🇬🇧
reminds me of Laleh - Some die young
İ thought ,,hold me" Farid Mammadov's song 🤣🇦🇿
I thought Hold Me Now - Johnny Logan 😝
Thanks from Sweden for the Moldovan reaction and this. Subscribing now! You are good at this stuff! Also like the Timothée Chalamet look - a little skin goes a long way 🙂 REACT TO DUNE PLEASE!!!
Thank you, welcome to the family! 😁
You mean the trailer, or the movie?
Well she comes from good grounds, her fathter is the singer i the rock band The Poodles Jakob Samuelsson.
that song is cash
First thing I said was Emma Willis is on Eurovision this year! Ha.
I can't unsee it haha
@@JarydReacts Emma looks like one of the veronicas now a days.
U should listen - Liamoo, Cazzi, Klara, Medina, Anna, Lancelot and Angelino, Niello ft Lisa Ajax! All of them could win another Year easily
I will do 😁
the fun thing is when u watch it live 50% of the time you cant see her because she is behind the white screen 🙃btw if someone wonders i am from sweden and Cornelia was the right winner!
TV > live 😝 haha it depends where you're standing/sat! Probably won't be the same for the Turin audience ey
@@JarydReacts yea they will probably change the white screen because it’s frustrating to just hear her voice and see a big white screen on a empty scene😄🤣
You should also do a react to the song Saudade from my country Portugal.
I did, the original and the acoustic 😊
I love this song and proud to send this, but for me the green screen can be left at home. She doesnt need it, I think its better wih just her on stage :D
I've grown to love the green egg/planet/mirror/spinny thing
@@JarydReacts Maybe it will grow on me eventually. But I will look past it because she is absolutely amazing ^^
🇸🇪🎤🎼👍😃💃❄️🇸🇪
omg she DOES look like emma willis
I couldn't unsee it! 😆
@@JarydReacts i'd been trying to place that for MONTHS, bless you, now i'm ready for her to usher hoorays into the big brother house
.....vocals sounds allmost similar like giana nannini.. 🤔😉
Ay Mama from Benidorm fest still has me a bit traumatised when I saw the big circle behind her
I'm unsure, I haven't seen, might need to react 👀
it looks coold .. put on your shirt ..
Are you talking to me or Cornelia 🤣
hey you
🙃🙃🙃🙃
Hey you!
I like the song a lot but vocally I don't think it's delivered that well....I appreciate she has a gritty tone but at times it just sounds strained and not good for the ears
Based on the hype I've been listening to this entry various times now and I don't get the vibe I get with other entries. Ballad wise I prefer e.g. Italy, the Netherlands. Greece is in my top 10 and if I compare this to their entry, their entry just has this something extra's.
That's fair! Everyone has their own preference and taste 😊
You are beautiful
Cornelia sends her thanks 😝
@@JarydReacts I’m talking to you 😊
@@Harel_Israel well then thank you kind sir! I had generous lighting! 😁
@@JarydReacts cheers from Israel
Nice song but the song is neither mediocre nor original. singing in raspy voice doesnt make the songs original
The song is fantastic, the raspy voice is a bonus 😝
@@JarydReacts You might be right because Eurovision 2022 songs are a little bit weak, compared to previous Eurovision contests🙂 But as you know juries also give importance to vocals and staging; staging has no presence in this song and vocals may not appeal to everyone. When we look at previous ESC winners; this song doesn't give any winner vibes :)
@@JarydReacts I also would like to see your ranking among the top 5 for this year; for instance how would you rank Sweden, Italy, Poland, UK and Netherlands which are now favorites? 🙂
Boring balad, boring performance, nothing new in the Sky...and remembers a lot the song Shallow of Lady Gaga!!!??? 🤔🤔🤔
always the hate
@@zeldabusan always the copies!
