Exceptional featurette RR! It would be nice to see someone conserve and restore that historic place. Great work, thank you.👍🏼🤘🏼😎

You did an excellent documentary on her! There was a lot of information given in a short time. It's sad her old home place is just sitting there decaying. I wish a historical group could get it and restore it. Thank you for sharing!

Wow! I'm from the UP of Michigan and I didn't know this. I just looked her up and found out where she was from in Mich. I know the place well. I'll have to go below the bridge and visit this house. thanks for the great report and photos!!

How interesting! This lady was quite a trendsetter wasn't she? Nice job putting together her known history and accomplishments. It'd be nice to see her family do some refurbishing, albeit it'd be from the ground up- would there be much salvageable?

So who owns the property now and do they have any plans for it. Seems kinda interesting that the building haven’t been refurbished

It's not that unusual for someone to buy property with an historic building on it and not have any interest in preserving it. I just photographed one such place a few weeks ago. It's an old home built in 1905, Neo-Classical design. It was partially restored to shoot a film there, but the owner has said he has no plans to restore it any further and won't sell it. A local conservancy group has been trying to get it for years, but have been unsuccessful. The home is located on the very corner of the property, so I think it's strange to let it just sit there and decay.
