- I'm very excited to show you the gift I made for my girlfriend for Valentine's Day. It was quite easy and I love the result! What do you think?

Love the lamp! My partner and I met when he was 27 and I was 46. That was 28 years ago and we are still happy and together. We hope to come to la land someday soon and meet all of you. Happy Valentine’s Day
Nothing better then a gift made from one heart for another.
I love it so much! You’re the kindest, most thoughtful man and I’m a very lucky woman ❤️
❤️
You are it was written in the Heavens you both are🦋💕
Yes, you are Stephanie!! But you're special enough to completely deserve Philip. I can't explain how happy I am that you found each other, or how much I'm rooting for you both to stay together and live happily ever-after!
You are both very blessed and very lucky to meet up and share your life together. I remember Stephanie in 2019 or so when I started watching your blogs you mentioned how much you missed not receiving a Valentines or having someone special send you one. Not exactly in those words but that idea. I’m so happy for you both😊💕🌈🇨🇦
I did comment before that I was so happy you both found each other because I believe you are a perfect match. May all your Valentine days be as happy as you are now! 🌹❤️
So talented, love it. Well done Phillip. The best gifts, in my humble opinion, are the ones that are made just for the person you are gifting it to. Love the editing and Stephanie’s response. I was smiling along and clapping that she loved it. Hugs to you Phillip and Stephanie. Happy Valentine’s Day. ❤️
Stephanie really is the best gift receiver I’ve ever seen
She is. Her mother is always very gracious as well when receiving gifts 🎁
Philip and Stephanie are very sweet together. Congratulations Philip on your performance.
Big sign…My heart melted. Not only because you made the candlestick into a lamp, but when you said , “Happy Valentines Day Darling.” It’s amazing how much such as this little lamp can become something so precious as a gift to your loved one. My first gift was from my first love when I was 16, he made it in woodworking class. It was a heart with his name & my name, painted in red and at the top held on by two prongs was the word love. That was over 49 years ago and even as I write this, I am tearing up. Unfortunately, my first love ended before graduation, but I have never forgotten that lovely gift. I also have not forgotten my first love.
It would be very interesting if he read this and replied! Perhaps he too never forgot you? Stranger things have happened in life! That is a beautiful memory!
I think all of our hearts melted at "happy Valentines darling"
@@okienana11 the same for me it melted my hart and also years ago each time Phillip was looking at Stephanie. I guessed long before his feelings....
Happy Valentine's Day Phillip and Stephanie! So sweet!!
Philip, you’re such a sweet soul. Lovely to make something for Stephanie, Bravo 👏
What a thoughtful gift. I just love that you really take into account what Stephanie loves when considering what to get her as a gift.
Aw Philip that's such a lovely thoughtful gift and watching you make the little lamp was just a bonus. 😊
I adore home made gifts, it shows so much thoughtfulness. What a lovely surprise for her.
Perfect spot for it! I cannot wait for the next brocante expedition where the right proportioned lampshade is discovered. 💜💜💜
What a sweet and thoughtful gift, Phillip.
You could tell that Stephanie was deeply touched and loved it.
You are such an adorable couple💕
So sweet! A gift from the heart. I used to watch my step Dad make lampshades from fabric and either repurpose a base from something old, or commission something from the woodturner. As he was a set designer for TV and interior designer, they were always pretty amazing. He would put everything together like you did Philip. Well done! My step Dad was Hungarian and often spoke about Herend porcelain and how the painting was different on each piece and all done by hand. Sometimes the painting might cover over a little imperfection in the porcelain and so a random moth or butterfly was carefully placed. I agree about the lamp shade needing to be bigger. The width/height of the base needs to be balanced by a wider based shade. Something will turn up. It always does :-)
So sweet, Philip. I love the ending. I agree with you…maybe I slightly bigger shade. But we’ll done. She was thrilled.
It's perfect Philip - you knew Stephanie would love it and you made it yourself, the best gift... Happy Valentines Day! ❤🦘
What a thoughtful gift. It looks lovely on her dressing table.
Goodness! Time goes by so fast! Two years! The lamp is sweet and beautiful - thank you for sharing. And if you all ever get tired of the cache pot behind you - it might want to come live with me! Lol!
Beautiful idea and Stephanie was so pleased. The two of you are too cute. Happy Valentines Day Darling!! Phillip you're a keeper!
How thoughtful and lovely. Well done, Philip. But, I think I can speak for many that when you said, "Happy Valentine's Day Darling", the swoon meter went off the charts. You are both so lovely. Wishing you many years of Valentine's Days together!
How wonderful. I especially loved it when I Philip said "happy valentines day darling" to Steph. ❤️🌹😀
Stephanie reaction was spot on.

Philip, you did an amazing and creative gift for Stephanie. Perfectly suited for her. You are so good to her and she to you. I'm so happy you have each other as Valentine's. My hubby and I just celebrated our 37th Valentine together. May you celebrate many more together.

Thank you for sharing this sweet Valentine's Day moment with us. It's beautiful. All of it--the lamp, your thoughtful planning to surprise Stephanie, her joyful reaction, and the obvious love you share for each other.
What a thoughtful and great gift. I was wondering, have you thought of ever doing videos on the following two topics: 1) How to set up a proper afternoon tea table. 2) A video comparing and contrasting how different countries/times set their tables. Keep up the great work!
Philip my heart melted when I saw what you took the time to make for Steph on Valentine’s Day this year , I think you are a very special man with a heart of love and kindness which is such a precious thing ,

Daawwww! You do get it Phillip! Bravo.
Wonderful gift for Valentines Day. She will love it!!!💖♥️
Stephanie is so good at loving everything she receives (I know she is genuine thought)...
💞💝💞Happy Valentines Day 💞💝💞 What a wonderful and thoughtful gift for your love. A man of many talents!
How thoughtful! Those are the gifts that mean the most.
💟 As far as romantic gestures go,
🔍searching for your 💓sweetheart's favorite porcelain patterns 〰️& turning this lovely candlestick treasure into a candle🕯️lamp was totally top notch. ✅Well done!
😉BTW, I inherited the same beautiful white porcelain Asian goddess, Kwan Yin, from my 🥰beloved parents who adored Chinoiserie, that Stephanie has displayed on her💄dressing table.
😁 This statue makes me smile❣️
❤️Love how her gown is 🌬️dancing in the wind. Plus, it was also featured in an antique shop in "Yours, Mine and Ours" 🎬 1968 movie with Lucille Ball & Henry Fonda.

Pax Christi 🙏
What a gorgeous thoughtful gift and soulful gesture for the Queen of your heart Philip. What a treat to watch. Happy more Valentine Days to come for the gorgeous beautiful two of you 💕💕🍷
That was a sweet thing for you do for a sweet lady I am so glad you found each other!
Hello from L.A. California 😎 that was so sweet from beginning to end ! It's the little things that people do for us that make us the happiest 💕
It is the little things that tell people just how much you truly love them. Details as well are what makes everything stand out in the mind, and in the heart. Well done Philip...when a lady starts saying, "it matches my"....you know it has made an impression
Truly a thoughtful gift, and it was wonderful to see Stephanie receive it. I've restored or created many lamps over the decades, and with those plastic candle drip casings, I spray them a cream or off-white, and then age them a bit with burnt umber oil paint, smearing it about and removing most of it, just enough left to tone it. After it dries, I spray it with a flat polyurethane. Looks just like the ones on lamps from the twenties and thirties. Also, here in the states, when you pass the cord through the lamp base, you tie a knot so that there will never be pressure on the cord connection to the socket. That's particularly important with floor lamps. Great to see you back, and I look forward to more of your vlogs.
I want to convert some favorite lamps from US plugs to UK, as I now live there, but can't find very good tutorials,s on it for a complete beginner. Any suggestions?
@@marymcandrew7667 I've never converted US plugs to UK, but if the sockets are the same, you would just need to get a cord with an attached plug, like the one Philip uses in this video, and rewire the lamp. But if UK sockets are different, you'd have to replace those too. There are some decent tutorials on Ebay, and they stress safety, so that's good. If you really aren't comfortable doing it yourself, you might call an electrician and see if they can do it for you. Hope this helps a little.
Thanks for your reply, I'll do some digging and learn! It should be fun!
Usually the cord comes with the plug attached. If you take apart the old lamp it will be very obvious how to wire the new one in. Just be sure to match the colors of the old and new wires.
The fact you put so much thought into it & made it yourself makes it extra special. Xxxxx❤️🇬🇧😘😍
Love the lamp! Steph will love it too! Happy Valentines!
Such a beautiful spirit of love and kindness, both of you.xx
So thoughtful and what a beautiful gift. Made with love. ❤️
