Stationeers Vulcan air conditioner to cool the fires of Mount Doom

- Today we are on Vulcan having a walk through my base. Have a look at the most serious air conditioner I have ever constructed. My extensive oxygen factory. It is capable of keeping the base cool and also cooling gases from the atmosphere for processing into breathable gasses.
I have changed it a bit since this video but you can find that out for yourself. I am quite happy with how the nightclub came out.

First I thought the base is just that initial room. I was like "oh, that's pretty nice already". 😆
I always love your outros. This was your best one yet.
Not sure what to say, this is insane
Love the humor! Proctology and Audits are perfect for eachother.
Heads up for incoming changes. Water will no longer be a gas and will not work in gas parts. On testing branch, they are working on a system to auto convert gas parts to water parts as long as it is at least 99% water. Also, the combuster will put off a lot more heat and the electrolyzer will use less energy if the water is pre-heated.
Jesus...
@@julianweiser9985 Also from my understanding, no more swimming pools or water filled chambers. At least for awhile. So get your water into tanks and make sure other gases or filtered. This is coming to testing branch maybe next patch. So things to expect for main branch latter.
Oh no. My fish tank will dry up. Poor Fluffy.
"I don't like the lava right underneath my floor. I find that a little bit unsettling."
Meanwhile, in your current series...
lol fantastic base
Nearly makes you forget what is outside :-)
Awesome base. I'd love you to do a let's play on Vulcan.
thanks for your video bro, somes ideas for my base and the pool is beautyfull i do that this weekend
“Managment- where would we be without them”
Probally a more sane place.
And, I have a better one for you:
“Managment: Can’t live with em’, can’t live without ‘em””
Nice base. It looks cool.
Service tunnel design makes me happy for some reason. I like the design. I presume you are building in creative mode instead of survival?
No matter how nicely I finish my base, the service tunnels remain my favourite place. This is all survival. All my testing and development is survival, I only use creative when making a demo for the workshop.
How do you plan space for the service spaces? I originally wanted to use the angled walls and lights to cover up the hallway piping and cabling, but the lighting for that wall piece is atrocious. Right now, I'm building a larger habitat to take over the functions of my original moon hab, but the only thing I can really think of is skipping a floor to give me space. (Floor 1, entry area, Floor 2 - wires and pipes, Floor 3, lab space, floor 4 - wires and pipes, etc)
I usually build my base from frames, so every junction of a wall and a floor has a row of frames that can be removed without breaching any of the rooms. If I want to supply a service to a room all I have to do is poke it through the corner of the tunnel and into the room at any location.
Nice! I have an challenge for your disco. IC program the Pipe Organ 😁
Never got around to test it myself. Don't know if it actually work either...
I was wondering when we'd get to see a Vulcan video from you. I've been enjoying playing on Vulcan, love the landscape and the challenge. I'm still surviving on a handful of wall coolers that only cool at night and a portable A/C for when it needs a boost. Two portable hydroponics units seem to provide me with enough O2 for breathing and tons of food. Plus, I've got my furnace completely automated and using electricity for heat, so I've only had to use O2 for breathing and making a tiny bit of water. I think only 2 or 3 significant incidents with explosions and fire... not bad. Survived them all anyway. I have a question though - why does everyone use pollutant as coolant when CO2 is typically more plentiful, less dangerous, and has a higher heat capacity?
Anything can be used as a refrigerant. When I harvest gasses from the atmosphere I get pollutant, it can only be used as a refridgerant, so I can throw it away or use it. All my CO2 goes to the plants as quick as I can cool it. And I need lots of oxygen for bigger bases and bigger fires.
How do you change colors? seems like I see bed in different colors than stock and base color is different from others. I have Steam version of Stationeers
Why would the frames be replaced with outisde atmosphere if the base is sealed, why does it not just turn into a vacum that is filled by the surroundings... i guess if it encased the atmosphere to start with.....
12:20 how you make this safety doors for emergency lockdown?
I would love a drawing of your cooling layout, I'm having no end of trouble cooling gases with ACs.
The layout has changed a lot since making this video
@@cowsareevil7514 Love to see it, you have a really impressive base. I'm not good at making things look so nice, and my utility corridors haven't been great either lol. But my real issue is that even on Mars my AC setups don't work well and I can't figure out why. Sometimes when set to -200 they somehow output heat ... it's very frustrating.
Any chance on releasing this on the workshop? Would be great to be able to pick it apart to see how it all works and apply some of your ideas in my own base design. Cheers
Eventually. A few things to finish off.
What door is that you're using in your airlock?
It is the airlock from the pipe bender.
@@cowsareevil7514 huh ... it gives me an entirely different object
A question about pool on your base, you need to push ore ice on pool or from a contrainer water ? Thanks!!
Maybe its in experimental ? I need info ;)
Both methods will work.
@@cowsareevil7514 but in normal game or experimental ? Thanks dude
@@cowsareevil7514 because i put ice water ore on my pool and the ore finish in gaz :-/ my room is save. strange
I'm looking forward to a base tour on Venus, if you plan on making one in the future!
Venus?? Is that in dev branch?
@@cowsareevil7514 at the moment, yes. Not sure when it officially comes out.
@@Brixxter Probably next update.
Can you explain how to use the AC unit?
In this base they are cooling the tank, so a pipe connecting both input and output to the tank. Connect the waste to your heat dump, in this case, my pollutant tank. Then switch it on and let it do its thing.
@@cowsareevil7514 The thing is, when I did it with this kind of setup, it sucked the air out of my room. I can only assume the air went to the waste line. I'll have to do some testing I guess.
@@CommanderHayes The wase line must be pressurised. If it is below 100kPa it will divert input gasses to pressurise the waste. Use radiators on the waste pipe to remove the heat or connect to a large tank of coolant as I have done here.
@@cowsareevil7514 Oh.. That 100kPa thingie is a useful detail. My waste line was simply a pipe leading outside with a passive vent. So I was actually trying to pressurize the atmosphere to 100kPa. Interestingly, the portable AC unit did its thing just fine. Thank you for the help!
Proctology and auditing. LOL
Are those marihuana plants ? LOL
A normal day out here in the rimworlds
