- I'm going to show you how to achieve this by having one of these (septum piercing). I am going to teach you how to flip your septum ring all while giving you some simple and easy tips.

I also discuss why I got my Septum pierced and why I like to hide mine.
I include 5 easy tips that will help you flip your septum, it can be painful so make sure to always clean your hands before touching so that it can prevent infection, make sure that the balls are in the right position before flipping and also make sure to pull the ugly face before tucking the piercing up and under your nose.
This piercing is great because it doesn't leave any permanent holes that can be seen when you take it out after deciding you don't want that piercing anymore.

Did you wait multiple days before flipping it? I would need to flip it 2 days after the piercing (for work) but I think it’ll get infected
gothmoth I actually tried flipping it the after only 3 hours but it hurt way too much :| I’m not 100% sure how long I waited but I cleaned it almost every 3-4 hours the first 2 days and the second day it flipped with no problem. As long as you are cleaning it well enough routinely I don’t think it would be a problem, but ofc everyone is different

If you don’t want parents to know about it, you can flip it up immediately do it after getting pierced and you can actually leave it flipped up for the whole healing process

On a scale of 1-10 pain wise, the septum piercing was like a 2. Easiest piercing I’ve EVER had.

@@alyzimmerman2137for it to not hurt at all, like it should, you need to find the sweet spot. Your piercer probably did it wrong or your nose isn’t qualified for a sweet spot septum. The only reason why it should it hurt is bc you have it in ur cartilage.
@@alyzimmerman2137 mine didn’t hurt at all. I didn’t even feel the needle or jewelry go through. The piercer putting the clamps hurt more than the piercing itself 🤣

I literally just used this video to flip my piercing up for a job interview. By the way for those of us that have Jackson 5 nostrils 😂 vs narrow, it may be easier to semi-pinch your nose upward and then push the piercing inward. I tried this after 30 minutes of struggling and it worked perfectly!

Hannah Omari that’s perfectly fine, a lot of people do that. You can search it up but I believe you’d have to keep it flipped up for about 6 months and then you can flip it whenever but I’d say don’t flip it too much until you’re sure it’s fully healed
Thank you! BTW for those of you who are healing. Flipping up the septum immediately and leaving it to heal in that direction will cause it to heal in the upward direction and cause discomfort when you place it back down you want to generally leave it alone for a while 7 days

Your septum looks lovely - really suits you. Seems a shame to flip it up! Have thought about getting one but never see a guy with one. Good one for work though as it can be hidden easily. My wife has her nose pierced and has to switch out her hoop for a stud for work.

i cant explain how helpful this was! i had to flip my septum for drill team photos and i was nervous at first to do it but after watching this i went in the mirror to try it and it was so easy!

caitlin lloyd you can flip it up and down straight away (or at least I could anyway), so you can flip it up in school and down outside school, even on the first day of having it done :)

sadly some of us have rly tiny nostrils so for those of u struggling to flip it, either try stretching out the jewelry or getting a retainer than can stretch! these r things i wish i knew before getting my piercing, my mom just had to live with my piercing for 6 months cuz i just waited for it to heal before changing it into something small and easy on the eyes haha
I have this problem. I got mine pierced with a 10mm and there isn’t enough space for it to sit up comfortably so it falls down all the time. So I worked out I’m going to take the balls off and flip it because they add extra room and weight and that might help it stay flipped up. I hope this helps someone?

Had one just like yours 9 years ago, i miss it. i used to flip it alot, but one time while it was flipped (i was skateboarding) took a big nose breath in, one of the balls got loose, and ent up inside my lungs, so make sure they are tight 😂😂 my one and only hospital stay, was under observation for 24hrs, docs was scratching their heads trying to figure out wether to operate or use tubes to get it out, Luckily for me i coughed the ball out myself. Still got the Xray on my wall lmao.

hoooooly shit thank you you’re a life saver. I got my septum pierced 3-4 days ago(and my mom-and my manager- actually DOES know lmfao) but wanted to flip it up because the ball ends that i got are (and the jewelry piece itself overall is) pretty large, so every time i’m sipping from a water bottle(single use plastic) or certain foods i try to eat and such i keep bonking my jewelry on it 😂
overall wouldn’t change a thing tho. i’ve had my septum pierced 3 times now and absolutely love it this time, so yeah, just flipped up for now so i dont keep hitting it and it can heal. Seriously thank you so much, you made this quick and easy for someone who couldn’t get it on his own. Can’t thank you enough for it 🙌

I noticed she mentioned she had this piercing at this time for 2 weeks. You actually dont want to make a habit of flipping it till its healed. If you have to work and hide it than flip it and keep it that way till its done healing or vise versa. Pick one and stick with it. Because if you keep flipping youll wear out the skin and Ive seen people rip that part of their nose. So lets not do that and keep it one way for a few months.

Hey, yeah, I wouldn't recommend doing what she did and flipping it after only 3 days. Just because she didn't get an infection doesn't mean someone else won't. If you expect to have to flip it up shortly after getting pierced, tell your piercer that you need it flipped for the healing process, and after a couple weeks at least then flip it down. This is not good advice from her, sorry. Still helpful video, because I was looking on how to flip a septum, but kind of bad advice.

How has everyone’s septum piercing been during COVID? I want to get mine done but not sure how it will do with the mask. I work a lot and have to wear a mask for long periods of time.

Mine hurt for two days after getting it done and wearing a mask was a bit painful so i would recommend getting it when you have an option to stay home for few days

don’t flip it up after you pierce! it’s not good for the healing. wait a week or two to start trying to flip. the pain and swelling should go down by then
misinformation to the max 😭 if anything having it flipped up helps healing as it won’t be moving the way having it down would. you don’t need to have it down for it to heal i’ve been having mine up w the occasional flipping and it’s been healing just fine.

I asked the manager before my interview if it is a problem if I have a septum, so I can take it out (or hide if it is haha). They said no, so I didn't have to hide, and got the job as well (it was a suprise cause it's an obersvatory). I can understand that some parents don't like it (mine neither) but this is your body, u can do whatever u want to. Don't be afraid to be your true self!
