- Oh where do I begin, this makeup experience was so bad, I had to walk out midway through the makeup process because I couldn't take it anymore. When I tell you this is the absolute worst reviewed makeup artist, it really is. I can't belive how rude and disrespectful these people are.

This is a front shop for something else. That wasn’t a make-up artist and she was using her private make-up. They went to grab their own make-up and brushes. This is crustal clear and there is no doubt about this shop being more than shady.
Instead of getting frustrated, I would have stayed till the end and try to document it the best I could, ask questions and go to the police later. I would also show the video to the health department.
Of course it is a scam, it’s not what they say they are. Even the worst makeup artist has at least makeup and brushes there.
She filmed the entire thing, that’s the definition of documenting.

This makes a lot of sense, I haven't thought about it. The fact that the "makeup artist" only had one foundation avaliable and that the color was exactly her shade is suspicious too.
I'm nieve and need to know what these businesses are actually doing? Do they somehow kidnap women or sell drugs or something? Or are a way to get foreigners a "job" on paper?
That's a front for human trafficking if i ever seen one, the fact they weren't expecting someone wanting to get an actual makeup look to the point they had to WATCH A TUTORIAL because they just aren't actual makeup professionals and only have some makeup bought specifically in case someone actually does come for a makeup appointment, all the men in the room and just all around in general, all the whispering, the paying upfront

The brushes were all dirty and the ones she was using were completely wrong for everything she was doing. And ragged. Ragged dirty brushes used by someone who seemed as though they'd never done makeup in their life.
As soon the makeup “artist” opened that brush roll, I just about gagged. Nasty.

This whole place is suspicious, the fact that the males ‘employees’ were looking at inappropriate pictures whilst you were in the room with them, says alot. I once had a lady with only half her haircut come to me crying to fix and finish cutting her hair because the Salon she was at previously was making fun of her while she was in their chair! She was so appreciative of what I did for her. Customer Service skills are a must in the hair and makeup industry! Return customer’s are what keeps us in business!

That payment method is cheating people, who pays for work like that before seeing it? They're scammers and the whole make up experience was unhygienic and unprofessional. The Salon should just be greatful they aren't getting dragged.
The foundation matches the makeup artist's hands more than it does the client's face. Almost like she used her own foundation (just speculation).
And the fact that they would use their own makeup and brushes... I hope they get something like pink eye or worse when they go to do their own makeup the next morning.

Her brushes were NOT clean. She used DIRTY brushes on you. When she opened her “makeup brushes” none of them were clean. That would have made me walk. The very first rule in professional makeup is to start with clean brushes, you have no idea who she has used those on, where and what they touched. She literally could have passed staph infection, conjunctivitis and a slew of other things just with her brushes. You are more patient than me.

I am completely self taught and I could have done circles around that "makeup artist". Wow! I am still just absolutely horrified. I really questioned in the beginning, like how bad could it be, but holy shit! They took it to another level of bad! Never in my life have I witnessed a more tragic makeup look!
If you haven't seen more horrific of a makeup look, you should watch her other videos(It's a series basically) for example when one 'mua' put something that looked like nail polish on her eye lid💀

I was taught how to do makeup in cosmetology school in 1988-1989. I was raised by my grandmother who never taught me how to use makeup so I was grateful to learn the correct way. That being said, I have always hated foundation because of how heavy it feels on my face. So most of my life has been very minimal makeup. Then I had a very traumatic event and stopped wearing all makeup for almost 20 years. Fast forward to 2023, my daughter’s best friend was getting married and I was honored as a mother #2 in her life. So, now I have to get makeup for the wedding because mine is old and crusty…
Talking to my daughter and watching many videos on makeup I realized the very procedure for applying makeup was completely different. So I watched and bought way more makeup than I’ll use in a lifetime. All that being said, the basic principles of applying makeup are the same. I thought I did a really good job and I looked nice.
Now I’ve stumbled upon you… poor poor suffering you! I cannot fathom what these people were thinking. I am no longer in the work force, but I cannot help wanting to reach though the tv and slap these people! And the cost is way too much for what their results are. So, if you are ever in California, swing by and I’ll do your makeup for free♥️

That “salon” is probably just a money laundering operation. No one there seems interested in makeup or even knows how to do it. They’re just people hired by the owner to be in the store so it looks legit. That’s my suspicion anyway

I’ve gotten my hair completely chopped off, washed conditioned, baby dreadlocs and put under a hair dryer in almost the same amount of time. One side of her face is completely darker from the foundation to the eyeshadow. And how did they not have any lipstick there?? I wonder how that “business” has been there and if they are still there. Watching this 2 years after it was posted.
I used to be a receptionist at a hair salon and my boss had an enforced policy that her stylists and other employees were not supposed to have conversations with each other when clients were in the salon. Absolutely true! Although I miss the days when I had worked in a salon for so many years that my clients knew the other stylists AND their regulars, and we’d all have one big conversation. Those are the kind of bonding moments that keep clients coming back, even if they’re just discussing their daily soap opera. lol

@@Miss_Camel that’s why I like going to the salon. You can just sit and talk. I’m 15, so the hairdressers are adults, but they still engage in a long conversation about everything and nothing. The thing is, a teen, adults don’t really hold up conversation with us, except for our parents. I miss being able to that, since the virus stop us from socializing.
@@Miss_Camel that would happen often at the salon I worked at! We had many regular and loyal clients and we would all socialize with each other. The policy that my boss was very strict about was making sure her stylists and staff treated the clients as people, with respect and compassion, and were always cognizant of who was around if we needed to discuss business matters. It was a wonderful work environment😊

Oh yeah could be. There are barber shops and retail stores all over my neighborhood in the Bronx with clients who are not there for clothing alone. And they won’t be and are not welcoming. They don’t want clients. Or need them...if you are laundering money for drugs you don’t have to be fully operational. That’s probably why they didn’t have makeup in stock.

Hair stylists are like this too. My mom ran a large high scale salon, she wants me to become a stylist because I know how to do hair and extensions but I would not because of this reason. I can't stand people who gossip about others.

I can guarantee that she isn’t a makeup artist, she’s just someone who likes to do her own makeup and thought that’s enough to do everyone’s makeup.

Not even that, I only do my own makeup and I probably won't know how to do makeup on someone that is like 60 years old like a professional makeup artist that knows all types of skin, but even I can do so much better than this. This is another level like she just watched 2 makeup tutorials and only know the name of the products

Besides waiting a long time, my impatient ass would have left after 30 minutes, but the major red flag is she didn’t even put a protective cape around to protect the clothing. That’s just standard practice in any salon very first thing you’re supposed to do. I know because I was a make up artist and hairdresser for 25 years.… And the badmouthing other customers is an absolute no-no. The unprofessionalism is astounding.

I used to live in Mexico and some places were like this in very rich areas. In the more poorer areas, all of the people and places were so kind and lovely. I never did business in places that seemed like it was for rich people.
I was always treated so kindly at the other places and they even offered me food or whatever I needed during my time there.
Sometimes people didn’t know I could speak Spanish but they tried their hardest to speak English to me. It was so sweet.
This is very disappointing and I hope their business changes their employees or else it’s not gonna last

I’ve worked in salons for almost 5 years but as a hairstylist. I’ve worked with other makeup artists as well. It’s crazy to me to have people talk like this? When I was 18-19 I worked with girls my age and we never spoke this way even when clients weren’t around. Good on you for leaving but I think the salon should be exposed for how they are talking about their clients
