Of course yes. Risks are 0. I got a software jb. Its way better then a regular switch. You can use themes. Edit everything in the switch. Use emulators, homebrew. CZcams. Web browser. Its amazing unlocked. You can also do overclocking . Play Mário n64 and many other good old titles. You can also install android. Its insane ! I love mine...
I have a lite for online and a og switch with atmosphere for everything else. The og is for family, lite is for me 🤷♂️
@God Kaneki Fall out guys wasnt released for the switch yet. And most jailbroken switches are online banned. Not online banned are more expensive and rare. I use it offline and have 512 gb sd card full of rhe best retro and recent switch games. Netflix is dificult on the switch for that use a android box way easier. You can use bronswer on jb switch,have themes on it. All homebrew since old mame games until ps1 and psp is possible also wii and gamecube games with lakka android for that you need 2 sd cards. So all the information you need is avaliable online even in youtube . And the jailbreak and homebrew comunity is huge and helpfull. The switch is closed and should allow most features you can enable by unlocking your console, wich just improve your experience..

Actually, the switch has a browser but it’s only available by either joining a WiFi network that takes you to a webpage to log into and going to the connect an account option. You can use a custom DNS server to trick the switch into thinking you need to log in and then going to google.

I'm mostly doing it for Skyrim modding (which honestly should have been there by default, instead the argument was "the Switch can't handle that", when things like Project AHO and Apachii SkyHair work just fine) and digitizing my portable library to be free of cart batteries. But I do agree, the common consensus is "free games, lol". Kind of inevitable, it's unfortunate for the ones that just like tinkering with devices that they own.

Perhaps another possible risk is that we never know what's going wrong inside when they did the hardware configuration cuz the task is very refine and difficult. Secondly, the SX components durabilty is also questionable.

if you plan on buying more than 4 games, it's worth it to jailbreak it. 4 games = $300, which is the same price as a new Nintendo switch.

The math checks out. And I still see people going back and forth over whether the switch lite is worth buying solely for the cost savings and it boggles the mind that they haven't figured the cost of the console + a new game + sales tax is already nearly 300$ as is. It bites that nintendo hardly ever does proper sales despite skimping on build quality and specs to sell all of their hardware at a profit. They're almost worse than apple in that aspect.

I got a switch for traveling for work and using it for TV in hotels, I had no idea the streaming apps were limited to CZcams and Hulu, no excuse for that when it could be the perfect travel entertainment device. Big miss from Nintendo, thankfully jailbreaking can fix it

Totally worth it. The way the pricing is now its crazy. I would not get the switch lite as its not really worth it. Get an original V1 and atmos UI. Then you can load all the roms that you have acquired.

If Switch had strong online mp games like cod, red dead, GTA etc., the choice would have been harder to give up online play, but since that’s not the case jailbreak all the way.

Homebrew hackers are unmatched and almighty. As they found a way to revive the Nintendo WFC on Wii and Wii Shop Channel on Dolphin, they will surely make a replacement for Switch Online.

Yes, the switch works the exact same when docked as a stock one. However Switch Lites *Will not work in docked* as they don't have the HDMI chip for TV output through the charge port; it can't be patched in software.

I mean, you could just wait until a new Nintendo console comes out because Nintendo will just remove the eshop channel like what they did to the Wii shop channel. Also, Nintendo said there were going to remove the eshop channel on 3ds and wiiu, then they may remove online like what happened on the Wii. It may even happen on the 3ds and wiiu, so Nintendo is just going to repeat that so the switch will have no online and no eshop, so that's when you should homebrew the switch. That's the safe way.

By (half) i mean that if you check all the other pokemon, there isn't all of them, initially with the fire fox (i forgot the name HELP!) and a ton of other pokemon, so you can say sword and shield is one of the most terrible game in the entire franchise, low quality, barely any tasks exept just fight, almost 0 animations (they didn't even bother making the turning animation, they just moonwalk in the exact same spot 180°) and a really greedy amount of money to even play nicely (that Is litteraly paying 90 for just one game, with that amount i can litteraly get both subnauticas and fnaf vr, I'm happy there exists a mod to fix all this mistakes)

Yep basically. Google it. Theres tons of info online and even some CZcams videos from others on how to do it. I would recommend you buy the sx pro which is about 50 bucks I think but that includes the license. U can do it for free with other stuff but they're not nearly as good as sx pro. When I first started it took me a few hours and I ended up jailbreaking my switch and adding tons of cool stuff to it

Don't bother with SX....atmosphere has gotten so much better...buy a check jig and read one of the two top guides on how to create split your sd card partition, creating emunand and later putting on incognito to protect your switchs access online

I have a Switch Lite that will be used offline only as far as Nintendo is concerned so this is very interesting.
Haven't done a homebrew since the psp3000 and it's still my favorite handheld gaming console. But a switch lite? That could be a game changer.
On the other hand my phone is powerful enough to emulate PS2 games well enough to play rpgs like Persona 3 FES so it's no big loss to me if the Switch Lite is still not easy to jailbreak.
I have a question, if i hack a Nintendo switch, then i only play offline and after sometime i choose to un-hack it, can i go online without getting banned? (assuming there's a way to remove all the files the hack added). For example i'd like to hack it, get in my games hacked pokemons, then unhack it and play the games online without problems with hacked pokemons (the pokemons i'd like are simply shinies or perfect IVs, no impossible move sets like fly on a bulbasaur, just legit pokemons obtained trough a workaround).
The soldering is the biggest issue tbh, im way too shaky to be able to do that kind of shit, but as someone who has 2 jailbroken 3ds' those things would be paper weights if I didn't have a DS emulator on them

He bought shells for them, if you want there exists shells of plastic ad different colors including the trendy transparent, but you can also go "rich n fancy" by buying the metal shells, and I suggest buying the metal chrome shells, like a beautiful back and joycons of chrome gold or silver or even charmaleon, and the buttons being a different chrome color, just Google chrome shells for switch and chrome buttons for switch and be amazed with colors, you might as well search up charmaleon chrome cups and by all means that's the most VIP cup you can think of, of course the metal shell ajd button price might end up at 30$, but 30$ is actually a very nice price, you get 300% more protection, a very fancy color, and the nice sensation of a cold switch, its like holding a bar of gold in your hands, anyway ill tell you where you can find this cool shells and buttons, wait for the next reply

Literally the only thing you can’t do is play fortnite and a select few other games online in multiplayer. Switches online gameing servers are poor and other than for mario kart & spatoon, it is utterly shit for online multiplayer lol. I say this as someone that isnt banned.

Most bans are handed out via console (some very few ban the account but that's only if your messing with the eshop and credit card frud etc). Once the console is banned that's pretty much it for the console- the account can be logged on to another console and it will work fine.
Bans were reversible for the 3DS with seedminer but not for this system...not yet anyways

I'm not interested in a portable Wii U if the hardware is shoddy and you have to buy a ton of extras for it. If no new hacks for patched switch comes out it’s gonna be rlly hard to hack ur switch because unpatched switches are gonna be so rare in the future and the only way to hack patched switches is with mod chips which is already rare to find one
My advice is to buy a unpatched switch now

I'm about to buy a Nintendo switch and I have no intention of jailbreaking mine,I had the PlayStation Vita and seen the potential of that device,but the ability to jailbreak and download games for free was a contributing factor in why developers didn't get behind that device and support it.
We are in 2020 and have a portable gaming champion at our hands and we seem to at this stage have developers independent and also authors of AAA titles porting and remastering their games for us to purchase and play and I think it's this support what's keeping the switch in our hands and still being developed for,yes the device isn't perfect but what is these days and I may be wrong but I just feel if we are too quick to unlock these devices and essentially steal content from these developers just so we can save some money then where will they get the money to develop further on their games or give us new context.
Now I know my opinion won't be popular as everyone loves a freebie hehe but if we truly wish to continue to have a portable gaming device like this then we need to support it.
Now I will say one thing and that's pricing,I feel those games that are around £50 a pop are just not worth it especially since these games are cheaper on other consoles and especially on pc and I will always wait till they are cheaper before I buy them but I'm willing to pay a reasonable £30- £40 for a game if I think the game is worth it.

Yes, but as long as you keep the hacks and other cfw stuff only to emummc, you won't get banned ever. Use incognito to wipe the serial number off the emummc to make it have a 0% chance of ban. It doesn't wipe the actual switch serial number, just the one on the emummc, so no risk or worry there.
Thinking about getting a lite just to jail break it. I got too much money into my regular switch I'm afraid I'll brick it. But I'd like to have a lite just for emulators

You can still play your original games and performance is only affected by certain homebrew. And if you use an emuMMC, you can still play online.
