Ever wonder what does a modded PS4 Pro look like? What can you do with a modded PS4? Turns out, theres a lot! From modding PS4 games, using cheat engines, dev modes on PS4, and even running Linux, Cemu and Wii all on the PS4! That's right, you can even run Wii U games on a jailbroken PS4, and I'm going to show you how to jailbreak your PS4, how to run linux on PS4, and so much more. While making this video, I was asking myself, is it possible to jailbreak a PS4 Pro? what about a PS4 slim? Turns out, you can! Assuming you have the right software. You earned a subscriber once you brought up Sleeping Dogs as one of your favorites games. I cried with the ending. Twice.
Bloodbourne was a lot harder because it uses an old engine as most FromSoftware games do (they just aren’t very good devs when you look at the whole picture).
The game speed was tied to frame rate so if you ran the game at 60fps originally the game would double in speed, so the guy who made the patch actually had to put a lot of work into it to get it working.
But with almost every other PS4 game its as easy as modying 2 lines of hex code.

I have a ps5 now so the pro is permanently off, I'm patient to wait for a jailbreak for ps4 hopefully it will be easier by the time it comes out for higher firmwares
Nice tour over the possibilities here! Got myself a 7.55 to mess around with. Worth the journey to get under the hood and understand how it all works, but there is a significant hassle factor. I do my actual gaming on a current, unhacked PS4 because of ease of use. What XBOX Series S/X has done to enable developer access, thus allowing homebrew and emulation without hassles is brilliant and should set a new standard.
Really cool, I had no idea how far PS4 jailbreaking has gone. ofc I'm still happy to play on my PC but if I didn't have a lot of money I'd totally jailbreak a PS4

NOOO, you can't just hack a ps4, change 2 lines of code, and play uncharted 4 at 60fps on ps4. You have to buy the ps5 version for 70 bucks and a ps5 for 500.

there is a fan mod for jailbroken ps4 where you can set the temperature of ps4 and not to go fan on jet engine
the only problem is the lower resolution (900p on a big screen dont look that good). But I'm guessing that's a result of the weak hardware.

The stuff you can do is crazy. All these features that are already there and sony doesnt want you anywhere near. Especially how they have a ps2 emulator in the ps4 and never enabled it even if they needed to do some work on it. Wish I had the knowledge and confidence to do this on my own ps4

I can also tell you the 60FPS thing is because executives know how badly we crave that in modern games and they want to find the most profitable way of monetizing that value before they release games or consoles that can do it constantly. Not about making the gaming experience better, it’s about whether they’ll release two versions of a game or two versions of a console, one capable of 60 & one only coded to 30.
I like playing games a a stable frame rate only because it messes with the controls if it’s not stable. However this would be so cool to try out

You mean the save game transfer or something else? Because I HIGHLY doubt that they'd patch the specific "exploit" with a manipulated PS4 save for the PS5.
It's a very specific situation and they don't really have a financial reason to patch it, as long as it can't be used to Jailbreak the PS5. Nobody cares if you cheat yourself money in God of War, the only Game Developers I see having issues with such things are Ubisoft and EA, but even there it's not nearly relevant enough they'd care.

The games I was aiming at was stuff like assassins creed which is a single player game with micro transactions usually seen on online games.

This makes sense to do now since the PS4 is about to reach its lifespan as a past-gen console. which is both interesting and very scary.
I really do hope they give us a way to jailbreak them before the servers shut down, that or some people figure out a way to exploit ANY firmware they release.

The online play becomes less of an issue as Sony shuts down game servers.
Maybe someday someone will work out a some kind of private server setup. Or some small hosting company can convince Sony to let them take over the servers to maintain them.
I would be willing to pay $15/mo to still be able to play old games online with friends and other people.

the problem with the fps increase doesnt apply to every game, But any per frame movement without deltatime would break and give an advantage/disadvantage. But it's more common on older games and lower experience developers.

there was a cool program for the Xbox 360 on PC called Horizon that was also capable of editing saved game data then using it on the console just with a USB drive. It was such a great time

I knew about jailbroken PS4s, but I had no idea about the emulation or porting to PS5. It’s crazy how developers are just changing 2 lines of code and a few minor bug fixes then charging you again, like you’re buying a new game. If I had the money I’d buy a PS4 on a modable firmware.
