- Fox’s wild new 32 Step Cast has gone backwards with a new reverse arch design.
The previous 32 Step Cast was arguably the best lightweight cross country fork around and this new fork is even lighter, yet astonishingly, far stiffer.
Stay tuned to see just how lightweight this new fork is and we’ll also cover Fox’s new range of Grip dampers.
Replacing the outgoing FIT4 and Grip2 dampers, the Grip SL, Grip X and Grip X2 are claimed to bring even better performance to the table.
Do you like the reverse arch lower fork leg design?

What do you think of the limited edition gold colour? Cool or too much bling?
Prefer the orange, I've been waiting for this to update my 2019 factory 32 👍🏻
Yep, prefer orange or even black
All that glitters....
That reverse arch looks wild. Also awesome for catching and holding a tonne of racing mud and dirt!
The cutout section on the back face of a conventional arch is a huge mud trap
It's actually the opposite of that. Think about the direction of wheel rotation.
You don't know which way wheels roll huh 😂😂
It should actually be better than a normal fork brace, with the rotation of the wheel and all the cutouts.
Look at the back of a shaved away regular fork arch and you'll see a mud trap
So I guess the 2002 Manitou fork is back , now with added GOLD.
Manitou still doing it 22 years later 😉
And we'll pass on the 22 year old fork thanks!
Reverse arch always looks like you just bought your bike from Halfords.....
Its a different look, but at least the brake caliper is mounted the right way round with these, rather than the fork just being fitted backwards 😉
Not even FOX could color match their Kashima stanchions and they too had to go with the, "Well, it's close enough" approach.
Check out Brett Rheeder Kashima Frame in the past I think that was closer enough
Its better in person than in the pictures, but its still not 100%
Can't wait for a head2head with the new Boxxer (and maybe the Ohlins as well). Just got the Boxxer and it's absolutely great. Curious if Fox can beat it.
We'll look to see how they go head to head!
Idk why anyone should bother with the 32TC 40mm gravel forks when this new 32sc weighs the same with 100mm of travel
Very true, but it would ruin a gravel bikes geometry with that much travel!
Some would argue why bother with suspension on a gravel bike at all when they're close to or heavier than the weight of a hardtail
that reverse arch look horrendous imo
It does seem to be a love/hate thing!
Rockshox SID all the way.
most unreliable suspension
The Sid is a great fork and they seem to have fixed the bushing issues a lot of riders experienced on the first gen 35mm Sid forks
You said 34, but can I put a grip sl in my 34sc?
You sure can! The 34 SC chassis is unchanged, so the new Grip SL will fit you fork
Just sooooo expensive
Not cheap, but the price you pay for race winning performance perhaps?
$1000 just for the fork - nope. Component markup is insane.
+1 Insane price... China forks for 200 $ really perfect.
They are spendy, but the markup is not as big as you might think. Brands aren't making 70-80% profit on these!
@@bikeradar ahaha. OFC. They work for free... Suntour makes good air forks low 200$. fox with price 1000$.... This is just deceiving people from fox.
Manitou was right all along.
Manitou is the best.
Its a "no" on the reverse arch but a "hell yeah" on the gold.
Both seem very love/hate! You're definitely one camp or the other for the colour and the arch!
Nice advert
Its what is commonly called 'a review' if that helps your understanding....
@@petercook7502 OK I'll go review something I have never even seen. They just read off the spec list 📃😂
@@petercook7502that aint a review thats just a walktrough new bullshit tech Fox making
This isn't an advert, we're covering the news of a new product launch. We will review the forks long term in due course, stay tuned to see how the 36 stacks up its rivals!
@@bikeradar OK did you get paid by them? Yes you did 🤔
Manitou years ago 😐
Reading an autocue doesn't get any worse than this.
You can try it yourself if you like? 😉
@@bikeradar I'd rather you speak naturally even if you stumble now and then, though I don't think you would. The podcast is great, really natural chat
The gripx is a less tunable damper
But the damping is the same …..with like u forget …the gripx hast the same valve ….
Not all riders benefit from100 clicks on their forks ….
But also usually your videos lack a quite bit of info..
The valve is the same, but it lacks the high-speed rebound adjustment and gains the firmer mode, which the Grip X2 lacks.
Completely agree not all riders benefit from loads of adjustment and if thats you, the Performance series Grip damper gives you that and is really good!
Pricing is pretty much the same as Rockshox
It is similar, a bit more across the board though, in the UK at least.
A 32 SC Factory is around £150 more expensive than the Sid SL Ultimate for example
🤢
Stupid dirtcatcher bridge and insane pricing. No thanks...
What Dirtcatcher are you talking about lol do you know how your tires rotate
The price is hard to stomach, but the arch should actually be better for mud fests
@@bikeradar I run Lefty so I do not necessarily mind that kind of price tag. The Fox stuff just is not that good (anymore).
I had one of the old Magura forks with the integrated rim brake stuff years ago. They had a reversed bridge and I often had to stop because of stuff in there and crashed once. I think it has something to do with the pulling vs dragging physics, but what do I know...
Reversed arch great for your knees, to hit it with ease. 😪
We'd worry if you hit your knees on the fork arch! Other parts would be our bigger concern if you did 😳
Insane price🤮🤮🤮💩💩💩🤡🤡🤡
Too broke 🤮🤮🤮
They are a bit spendy!
@@bikeradar Little bit ~ on 700$.
