- Welcome to November's free technique vid everyone! Today we're talking about an alternative to the conventional wisdom that we've all heard a million times -- "if you try a guillotine and they pass your guard, let go of the head right away." That's good advice, but it's not the only solution to an opponent passing your guard and trying a von flue choke. Here's a more aggressive alternative...enjoy!
As usual, this video is brought to you by @nogibjjgear, whose shorts and rashguard I am wearing. Don't forget the promo code "caleb" for an extra discount off your entire order! And thank you again to my teammate @his.daughter.17 for the help!

Thank you!
Exactly 1:43 👍 thank you sir, for confirming it
But that's why arm in Gilliotine is better.
Fantastic. Love the way you play the 2 escapes off of each other. Try for the sweep n if opponent resists come out the other way. What jits is all about action reaction. Well done coach.
Thank you very much!
best video on a von fluke defense or counter
Interesting. I will try and play with it. However, just from watching, i wonder how much both escapes rely on the person on top overcommiting in either direction. If the upper person can keep their weight balanced and your one hand trapped things could still end bad.
Nice...thank you
👍
You have nice long arms dude.. geez your elbows go to your waist lol.
People use the arms way too much to guillotine and they pull up. The body is much more effective and back way stronger. Also, the arms make it so obvious as it crosses the front of the throat. Most people never see mine coming. Arm goes to the side of the neck and second arm goes under and grabs your forearm then pull into your body and push your body into them while pulling elbow to your side and back. It is a fast and tight choke that people don't seem to defend.
Thats how you can tell when someone is a diehard jiu jitsu specialist. The way you put your hands together at the end of the video for the way you would “clap” lol love it!
More like wrestling fan in general. Pretty much all wrestling styles use the Gable grip.
