OSP brought me here
Me too just seen video 😂
Elite Mold what video is it
Same😂😂
UFC's instagram showing off OSP brought me here
Yes sir😂😂
Been doing this choke since I was 16. I was the smallest out of class full of adult military men. I found It so useful because since I was a little smaller, they would just try and wrap up a guillotine and treat me like I sucked. I started using that choke, and it opened up whole news worlds of technique.
wow
Love this dudes accent, makes me feel like a right bloke mongst pals talkin bout poppin eads off
Pawpen eeds oof lol
Rolled with a first timer, was a boxer with this enormous Palhares type body, all he could do was grab and squeeze. I got into side control and he immediately got me in the perfect von flue setup and I was like "Thank you OSP!"
Seen a dude just do this on streetbeefs and had to look up how lol
Me too
Lol I saw that vid a few weeks ago
Same😂
Yep lol
Same here
bro Australians always seem like the type of dudes you could crush a couple brews with.
Culture
Cuz they are lol
I've been doing mma for years and I swear this guy is the BEST. Anytime I'm thinking about certain positions or submission variations this channel always has the answers I'm looking for. Always really good tips and little quirks and he is really funny on top of that i think which makes watching these videos a great time. Plus he only does no gi from what I've seen which is perfect
🙏🤙🏼😊🥋
Just came here after watching Ovince Saint Preux finishes. I couldn't work out how he was choking them. So it's essentially the shoulder on the neck. Got it thanks
dude... me to ..lol I was like how he choke the chocker ..lol now I know...
A great way to counter all this cranks from the bodybuilders rolling the first time and wanna try to screw your head of with a giultine choke that never work but hard to get out of cause they hold for dear live
Common scenario that this works well! Agreed. (-: Coach Tom Davey
yes i tapped a very strong body builder who was just trying to crank my neck
Learned this for that exact reason, heavier guys trying to just muscle through and crank my neck on a guillotine
Here because of this 😂
Did he just imply that OSP has small shoulders? xD
His shoulder is wider then my back
He's not big compared to the others in his division
@@AliHamza-sv4ni yeah his weight is literally all core and thighs. You see his untattoo shoulder you can see his neck nicely away from his shoulder and his chest is where it starts to get big but his core, waist and legs are all muscle and sculpted. He also has a small head width ways so easier to get into the choke started to get everyone off guard and his shoulder is already in or about too with the way he keeps his hair clean on the sides so make that sweaty shoulder and neck split apart when OSP does it.
always good to know what to do if you get caught in a bad situation, thanks for the tips
Same
Michael?! Why did you let that Fart survive?!
OSP told me I need to learn this choke
Alonzo Menifield made me come here! #ufc260 💪🏽
I have never grappled in my life but here I am at work, watching how to execute different BJJ moves :D
Very clear communication and teaching style, thankyou
Thank you DC for pointing me towards this technique!
This guy LOVED explaining this
Brilliant as usual, thanks guys!
Glad I discovered this channel, it's awesome!!
Glad you like it Neville! Happy rolling (-: Coach Tom Davey
Your explanations are lucid and entertaining. Thank you
That was great! Subscribed!
I think Ovince Saint Preux liked this video
Love the energy and common sense explanation!!
Love the way you teach mate!!
As a 5'10 130lbs lanky 21 year old this is my favorite thing to do when rolling. More often than not I will bait someone into an easy guillotine knowing full well they will go for it with my hand already set up to slide up the back, and on my toes instantly ready to throw my body over into side control, and with my incredibly long skinny lanky arms neck and shoulders, it's usually very quick to get that
Until you get double legged lmao
I was thinking about this for 2 hours thanks
Thank you!
Great video, thank you!
This is awesome. Very much needed to learn this. Gonna drill it immediately.
This is gold. Now it's clearly to me how did Cory McKenna win her most recent fight. Awesome technique.
Great explanation, thanks
This choke helped my 14 year old son gain confidence after a classmate kept locking in guillotine every time he would shoot a takedown!!! Thanks!
Nice presentation sir
Great demo and explanation. Thanks! 👍
Bruh, this is simple yet so effective.
I'm excited to try this
Great teaching
Great tutorial! thanks boys
Just learned this today!
I always find it more useful to know what to do when you get caught in a bad situation. More often than not, you'll be rolling or something and the other guy will be slick and come out with something that you haven't seen or suckers you into something very basic.
I only started doing jiu jitsu about 6 months ago, so i've found myself in predicaments that I shouldn't be in quite often. i've realized what works best is knowing how to get out of them. If at the very least you don't get the choke you wanted, you're not getting choked out.
As a white belt or blue belt the only art you should focus on is escaping.
Von Flue Choke is so underrated move
Gotta be the coolest submission
Awesome brother,
Good instructions!
Helpful
Love it!
Tht is so dam slick ... I’m thinking of all kinds of ways to utilize the shoulder
Came here after training yesterday and I always get caught in a guillotine so was shown this after the counter ,nice man and bonus arm locks as I’m that big guy
Literally why I just watched this 😂 OSP’s Von Flue is no joke
Had to look this up after watching Cory McKenna do it!
Gawd this guys got good stuff
Awesome
Here from Alonzo Menifield Von Flue choke
Facts! Had me a little confused how he tapped, but the right arm trap is so key! Shoulda let go of that Guilly!!
Love this counter
I remember Jason Von flue on TUF, I don't think I have ever actually seen the technique. I will definitely being practicing this.
He nailed a guy with this choke in the finale I think. Its a great choke! (-: Coach Tom Davey
first thing to realize no one in a street fight will ever wrap your neck that well lol. as long as you know this choke you are gold.
holy shit this is brilliant
Wow this is so useful for me. I’m a wrestler and have a bad habit of getting guillotined when I take people down
Well done here's a sub and like keep up the good work 🙂👍
I like the option of attacking the arm if they loosen the grip. Oss!
Well Explained!!! 👌
Entered the odd MMA hold rabbit hole. I went from watching the twister get done, to learning OSP's signature hold.
awesome choke
My favorite choke, people don't think about it until its too late
this video is well made good in ya
Guilotine from closed guard is a disaster waiting to happen. Always use modified guard
Such a sneaky choke
You could probably transition to an arm triangle if you feels his hands release too
Would be cool if you could make a video of Danahars Von flu choke counter to guiljotine, which craig Jones do.
You look super fit here brother.
2:32- that hit me hard😭
UFC Vegas 59 brought me here. Cheers mayte
Also known as The Freelance Gynecologist.
Tom “your shoulder won’t go in his neck” Davey.
Jason Von Flue innovated this choke back on 2006, and to this day, it’s still the most recent innovated submission.
Not true... buggy chokes for example
@@antoinepepino6599 not true... your mom for example
I got caught in this when I first started, and it sucks. It's a good white belt sucker choke since they don't know to let go of the guillotine when you're cross body. Thanks for the tutorial!
Sweet! I need all the help I can get. I get caught in guillotine because I’m deficient in my takedown entry.
Practice this and squeeze and you will be getting taps not tapping really quickly! (-: Coach Tom Davey
Is their more than one method of force to the Von Flu choke?
OSP is fighting now and I wanted to check out his fav move
Update he just got pieced up by hill
Getting guillotined brought me here
Aka you're butthurt because your mom put you in head lock🤣
Should be called the OSP CHOKE.
How do you do this without being swept? I find when I tripod and put all my weight on to that shoulder I’m exposed to being swept and I have been by guys good at that particular sweep
Just watched OSP finnishes just Brought he here
I wish i could give this another likee!
What can you do if they close the guard and block you from moving to side control?
Will this work if applied from behind?
Wish I watched this before last night lol
I understood until 3:25. Now I have to reasses my life
Unless they throw on the diesel squeezel, then you're in trouble haha.
I’m the tall skinny kid he’s talking about
Question?
What if when jumping to the other side, he crosses his feet and closes guard?
Can’t believe I’m getting excited about the next time someone puts me in a guillotine. Usually filled with dread about shooting a double and ending up choked out.
I keep getting guillotined by this dude from side control and its annoying because I know it ain't gonna do none but run the time. Appreciate you sir.
Saw a belator ref miss this choke and now I'm here
PFL brought me here 😂
Hey bro!! Sometimes when I do this choke when I tripod up to increase the pressure a bigger opponent can usually roll/reverse me and flip me over... if I don't tripod, I can't finish the choke. So I just don't even attempt it on big training partners .. any tips for this?? Bear in mind these training partners have 30kg on me
The smaller you are compared to them the better. This squeeze must eb practiced. smaller shoulders cut the neck better for the choke. The roll is the enemy. Work that squeeze ona dummy preferably. (-: Tom Davey
Walk the opposite way they try and roll may help
Does this choke cut off both sides of blood flow or just the side that your shoulder is against the neck?
it usually puts pressure on the wind pipe, i injured my wind pipe once pretty badly when i was beginner and somebody put me in a von flue choke . since then i learned that if he manages to pass, you should let go the guillotine immediately and try something else. So the answer is no, is not a blood flow choke, and i think you can defend it if you turn in some way that he doesn't put pressure on your wind pipe, and he puts on the side of the neck on one of the carotid arteries because since he can't pressure both of them, you will not go to sleep
Mostly it becomes and air choke but if done correctly feels much more like a blood choke especially on one side, I would label it as a general rule a hybrid choke where we have the wind pipe and one carotid arterty doing the job. (-: Coach Tom Davey
What if guard legs are crossed ? 🤔🤔
I hate when pro fighters miss the opportunity for this move.
How can you prevent the person turning inwards bringing his legs round into your body?
The cross face should take care of that plus your blocking knee. Reguarding is not typically a problem with this choke. (-: Coach Tom Davey
The Grappling Academy Pulled it off for the first time last night after trying for the last few weeks. Now time to refine.
Your videos rock, keep them coming!
