I'm thankful i decided to quit before anything bad with my health happened. I still want a drink everyday but watching you helps me not give up
How long sober?
@popcornboxing369 5 years. I wont drink again but its bloody hard.
@@colinnzholy cow still craving after 5 yearsâŠ..
@@popcornboxing369 not as much but especially on a hot day i think about how good a cold beer would go down
I am so thankful that didn't happen to you too! Thank you so much for saying that! Hearing things like that really motivate me to keep making these videos!!!! I really appreciate it! Hope all is well my friend! God blessâ€â€đđđ
Yup. I did pretty much exactly what you described. Total insanity and so so pathetic and sad. Praise the Lord we can look back at it from a distance now.
Thank you!!!! You are absolutely right!!!! We can look back now. I still can't believe some of the things I did. God blessâ€â€â€

I did the exact same things! When we Lie to ourselves, itâs a form of Disrespect. Alcohol turns our lives into a Dark Lonely Prison Cell!!! Itâs an extremely Miserable Journey for those of us who have become addicted. Alcohol literally cuts us off from living Life. 14 Days Alcohol Free!!
I love your analogy!! It is a dark lonely prison cell!!!! Thank you so much cindy and I am so proud of you!!!! 15 days now!!!!! God blessâ€â€â€â€

I think the "never again" starts with the first big drinking session and the first hangover. I know it did when I first started drinking, which was mainly a weekend thing with the boys. Come next weekend and I'm feeling great again, then the drinking, then the hangover, then the "never again". After a while you just accept it as part and parcel of the whole thing. It just becomes a fact of life. Then you realise that the hangover was trying to tell you something but by then it's too late. So many times later in life I said, "this is the last drink". We play so many mind games with ourselves.
This is all so true jeff!!! I have done all of this as well! Thank you! God blessđđ
I am so grateful that you put in the effort to make a video everyday. You are appreciated! Probably more than you realize. Thank you for always being so real and candid!
Hey Rob! Thank you so very much for saying that!!!! Hearing that really motivates me to keep doing these videos everyday!! If I can help one person to not drink, I have done my job!!!! Hope you are having a great day! God blessâ€â€â€đđđ
God willing this will be my first father's day sober and my kids are 17, 13 and 9. It feels really good and I'm really proud of myself. Everyday is another struggle for us all but our health is worth it. We have to be around for our families.
Hey Richard!!! I know you can do it! That is so awesome!! Your first father's day sober.... your children are going to be so proud of you!!! I know that they already are!!!! Let me know how it goes please! I would love to hear! Thank you for sharing. God blessđđđđâ€â€â€
Still here, still watching. I never drank hard liquor, if so rarely. I guess I managed my hangovers cause they were beer or wine induced. They were never so bad I couldn't just get up, take a hot bath and get going and function. I think its a scary realm to go when people start drinking liquor everyday. I cant relate to that level of pain but I still relate on the common level of drinking too much of one thing. Thanks for the wise words and inspirational content.
Hey Andrew!!! Thank you for still being here! I am glad that you didn't get into drinking liquor like that. Things really start getting out of control, at least they did in my case. I really appreciate you being here a d watching daily my friend! God blessđđđđâ€â€â€
@liverdisease-qb6rk you as well my friend ! Blessing to you and the family. Sorry to hear about the dog alsođ€§
@@AndrewMarloweTV thank you so much for saying that! Same to you and yours!
Hard liquor is a relatively recent invention in historical terms at least beer is close to natural processes. Weâre not designed to deal with 40% + abv
@andrewp5180 very interesting. Yea even the ancient Egyptianz had beer, but im sure whiskey and wine is not super new. Old cultures had forms of it as well. But as far as drinking a lot at once yea liquor is a death trap
14 weeks sober today, and cravings have been kind of strong lately. No coincidence it comes when the stress level gets high like it has recently. I know I canât drink though.
Hey kevin!!!! 14 weeks is awesome! That's a long time! Congratulations đđđ I k ow what you mean, I still think about it when I get stressed too. Same here.... I cannot drink, will not drink, I know what lies on the other side if I do and it's nothing good! Keep up tge great work my friend!! Sorry you are stressed out. Hope things improve! God blessđđđâ€â€

Now that I have restarted the clock, I don't want to get anywhere near this territory again.
I completely understand my friend. I'm sorry that happened. I've been there so many times. It's just part of the journey. Sometimes we need a reminder of why we stopped in the first place. Hope you are having a great day today my friend! God blessđđđđâ€â€â€â€
I am surrounded by drinkers ,but I drink non alcoholic beer so I feel included, and I've gotten to really enjoy it
Hey Paul! That's awesome to hear!! Thank you so much for sharing!! I'm so happy for you! God blessđđđ
I didn't think about it being a trigger but you're right, I won't suggest that again
@@Pellets7 thats what I think would happen to me.
Finding you is good for me, 19 days sober, 40 years in fine dining to mining camps where alcohol has been such a huge part, even a reward, my husband died and I drank but it's over
Nice to see a smile from you at the end of the video!!! đI guess with high-speed Internet you have something to smile about! đđđ·â€
Absolutely kathryn!!!! I can get these videos out to people so much sooner now!!! I'm hoping that getting them up earlier, can help stop someone from stopping by the store or whatever on the way home. I know how tough that can be! Hope you are having a great day! God blessâ€â€â€â€â€â€
The negotiation with ourselves is straight insanity. Iâm just going to drink today but not tomorrow. I never bought an excess of alcohol when it was my âlast dayâ of drinking maybe a pint of vodka and several beers or 1.5 liter of wine in one day. I think for me itâs the never again and then a few days later I found myself in the same place. I do see where anyoneâs drinking can get way out of control pretty quickly. Thankfully, I have never drank in the am. Great video LD, hope you had a nice day.
Hey micru866!!!! Today is a super great day!!!! They just set up my high-speed internet!!!! What would usually take 4 hours or more to upload, took 2 minutes!!!! 2 minutes!!!! I am elated!!! I hope you are having a great day! And you are right, the insanity of this disease makes no sense. Thank you! God blessâ€â€â€â€

Negotiating with ourselves... Who were we trying to kid
You are absolutely right! No one, but ourselves!!!â€â€â€â€đđđ God bless
Yeah, would play that sickly game of âTomorrow I stopâ but I never did. Sometimes going into the liquor store I felt like what I was doing was completely automated. No feelings, just get what I needed and consume until the next trip. Didnât even feel human.
Hi Paul I so relate to this comment. Iâve sat so many times in the car trying to make up my mind whether to go in or not. I would always go in and was like a robot or in a trance. Itâs such a hard substance to beat Iâm still working on it.
â@@Micru866same!
I know exactly what you mean..... it's like you walk in, and out without even knowing what you are doing. The sad thing is, I didn't even have to look. I knew exactly where my liquor was in every store. Thank you! God blessđđđ
"Completely automated " and "didn't even feel human" like the alcoholic mind kicks you out of your own autonomy and you are just dissociated, watching yourself slowly die. Absolute pure horror.
@@blde_grypritâs super scaryâŠand Iâve seen the same blank stare from others in the liquor store. Itâs unbelievably heartbreakingâŠ
Hey dude. Im scott from australia. Hell yes man ive lost count of how many times.ive done that exact thing. Ive told that same lie to.myself countless times. Only unlike you ive never been able to drink the next morning so i nurse the mother of all hangovers till 3 pm and the cave in and buy some more. But the beers never fix the hangover im still sick for at least the next 24 hrs.
I negotiate the same way with cigarettes. Every week....this will be my last carton!....Nope!
I did the same thing with smokes too! And would do the same thing.... smoke em all!!!! Wake up in the morning and couldn't breathe! Hope you are having a great day today!!!! God bless â€â€â€â€â€
Me too Ron's Mom. I have to have my smokes. I get totally nauseous when I try to quit
Putting yourself out there takes courage, so thank you. A question please, did you not see a doctor when you were vomiting every day, prior to you ending up in hospital really sick? That would scare anyone.
Hello Diane! No. I never did. I didn't even have a physical for over 20 years. I was too afraid of what they would tell me, or they would tell me to stop..... crazy! Thank you for the question! God blessâ€â€â€â€

A porch in the rain is quite nice. At some point, we decided a Carolina room was the thing to have in lieu of a good porch. We were wrong.

Great video today LD! Super excited for you to have high speed internet! I would tell my family that I had to keep drinking and slowly cut back so that I would avoid alcohol withdrawal. I told myself this as well, and my drinking actually got worse.
Thank you angie!!! These videos will be up a lot earlier now!!!! I hope that with getting them up early, it can help with someone making that stop by the store on the way home. Yes. I have done the same thing. đ
Thank you for sharing Michelle! I appreciate you being here! God blessâ€â€â€â€
I think I drank the most the day after I had a "good" day... like if I managed not to drink for a day or two, then boom I drank twice as much the day I started drinking again.
The twisted philosophy of a raging alcoholic is when you use the reasoning to drink more and all because Iâm stopping drinkingâŠ
You are not kidding!!!! I did that so many times! Probably at least once a week. It's pure insanity!!! Good to see you again my friend! Thank you for being here!!!! Hope all is well! God blessâ€â€â€â€
Sometimes I would feel like I had to finish the bottle because I thought the alcohol would somehow no longer be there the next day. Like if I didnât drink it tonight it would âdisappear.â Itâs like a scarcity mindset or something. Or if I didnât finish it, it would feel like Iâm âwasting itâ
Chef! Itâs funny or not so funny, 1 of our neighbors on her way home hit a parked car on the street. She kept on going home, she lives down the street. Her & her husband started fighting about what just happened.. the poor personâs car that she hit is an older car. He lives with his Dad which happens to be an attorney. Unfortunately she has been drinking her husband said I followed her home?? Instead of getting an Uber.. husband came over to discuss what happened and he admitted to him that yes sheâs been drinking. Sad situation for sure⊠never a good idea to drink & drive.. can only imagine how horrible she is going to feel tomorrow??? And this is going to be an expensive learning curve.
Hey there!!! Thank you for sharing this! Yeah, I bet, they are going to feel horrible today. Drinking and driving is not a good idea. My brothers daughters family just had a loss. One of their family members was killed by a teenage drunk driver just last week. Very. Very sad. Thank you! God blessâ€â€â€â€â€
@@liverdisease-qb6rk Iâm so sorry for your loss. That is heartbreaking. â€ïžâđ©č I know this accident couldâve been worse. And it looks like the husband was not going to come forward and admit that his wife hit the car?? So happy that you got your high speed internet up & running!

My friend is a raging alcoholic now. He has been fired from the past three jobs, he wakes up on the street, in parks, in hospital. His eyes are yellow and he says he has had fits. He goes to AA meetings and then drinks straight after. I don't know any of his family as they are from another country. Is there anything I can do? He knows he is an alcoholic, vows to quit when he wakes up but drinks the same day and doesn't stop until there's no money left.
Hey Andy! I'm really sorry to hear this about your friend. That's so sad. I don't think that there is much that you can do. You could offer to help him. But. He probably won't take it. It's worth a shot. I don't know what state you live in and what the laws are in your state. Some states will put people in rehab if they are unsafe to themselves, I would loom into your local laws. Maybe you could help get him into a rehab facility??? The only problem is that he has to want it for himself. If he doesn't, he is going to keep drinking. The yellow eyes is jaundice from his bilirubin levels being elevated. He already has liver damage right now if that's happening. He really needs to go to a hospital. Keep me posted on what happens please. I hope this helps. Thank you for sharing! God blessđđđđâ€â€â€â€â€
