    I just made one! how long does it stay warm?

    • @JessicaTrevarthen
      @JessicaTrevarthen  Před 9 lety

      Yay! How do you like it? The warmth really depends on a couple factors, how cold the outside area is, and where it is placed. Mine is currently wrapped in fleece inside his hut, so it is warm for a couple hours. If it was just sitting in the open, then maybe only 45 minutes. If you feel yours doesn't retain heat very well, you can always wrap it in fleece!

      Radicall Thoughts they eat cat food and meal worms mostly, the don't require excess space so i'm sure you can find somewhere, mine was $150 but it can vary, many people have websites just for selling hedgehogs

    • @trash.maggot2994
      @trash.maggot2994 Před 7 lety

      Radicall Thoughts to get you started. look up Volcano View Hedgehog. perfect pretty babies and they have food, starter kits, and the light set. a lot of the stuff you can make on your own. a lot is made out of fleece. join a closed group if you have Facebook.

    How can I wash this if mine pees/poos on it?

    • @JessicaTrevarthen
      @JessicaTrevarthen  Před 7 lety

      lol this was one part of this tutorial that I didn't really think about! I figured that these would normally be placed in the hedgie's hut or bed (and normally hedgehog's don't like to use the restroom where they sleep) BUT if you want, you could create a separate "Slip cover" for the rice bag that would be the initial barrier between any pee/poo and the separate bag of rice, then when it gets dirty you could just remove the slip cover, wash it, and put it back on! I hope that helps and good luck!

    • @heavenlyhunter
      @heavenlyhunter Před 7 lety

      Jessica Trevarthen thank you! C: my hedgie normally doesn't but when I forget to check up on her in the end of the day, I'll notice she pees in the bed. Guess she's too lazy to leave her hut lol!
