- This is a video that discusses toy options that are safe and that your hedgehog may enjoy. I show all the toys I have for my hedgehog and let you know which ones she likes and which ones she doesn't use. Hopefully this will give you some ideas of toys you can try with your hedgehog.

Hegehogs are solitary creatures so getting them a companion can actualloy be dangerous as they may fight
Another note for toys is that they cant have any threads that could come loose and possibly cut off circukation in parts of your hedgie. Another good homemade toy is filling an empty pill bottle with rice, Theo loves to push his around ^_^

Easter eggs. Like the little plastic ones you got in your Easter basket as kids. I put some meal worms into them and she loves breaking them open to find her prize!

Aww! You could probably make little stuffed animals for them. That starfish reminds me of the stuffed animals I make for my dogs. The cat and pig ARE Littlest Pet Shop and I've seen LPS hedgehogs before. How exactly do they play with them? Carry them around or knock them over? Should I be concerned about potential lead paint in them? I've also heard that hedgehogs LOVE toilet paper tubes!

HOw do you clip your hedgies nails? I know you're supposed to do it a few times a month but my hedgie is so wiggly and refuses to let me clip his nails

I would get a fake emerald, a little toy robot, a cheap ring, and a loopedy-loop (just for decoration). Of course, it would have to be a big cage.

Your hedgehog is adorable,I bought one a day ago I was really scared he keep going in a ball and jumping at me...i felt like bringing him bk....anyways I decide to take him out of his cage and there and then I start to touch him he start to get out of the ball smelling and now we are good frenz...I feel so much better. I wonder how much he have to get use to me b4 I attempt to bath him,any idea?

Awwww well we at least got 2 min. and 56 sec. of Teasel time before she went and hid on us at the beginning! I love her toy selection! Just a few questions - is something with cat nip bad for a hedgie? I was wondering if some of those smaller toys Teasel has were cats toys and if they had to be catnip free? Also are you able to effectively cut that large tunnel in to smaller tunnels? I thought it would be cool to have but I think my brother in law would want to get Hazzard out once in a while!
I know you uploaded this a long time ago, but I would appreciate a response. I had a wheel for my hedgehog when I first got him, but I noticed he never used it. I thought it was with him being new to his home so I let him do his thing. A month passed and he never used it. I ended up going on vacation for a week and he ended up tipping it over and using it as a little litter box! He's quit smart but idk why he didn't use it. Now, I see him doing laps around that cage and take him out and play.
My mom used to have a hedgehog, and her favorite thing to do was just chew and play around with a piece of felt.

Elly Vos yes in most Europe countries hedgehog is protected by law, but its different hedgehog - "Erinaceus europaeus". This one on video looks like "Atelerix albiventris" which is different spiece and comes from Africa. These African ones u can buy at pet store or from breeder legally.

I've been watching your videos because I'm thinking of getting a hedgehog (they have been very informative). I am wondering if a little slide would be a good toy for them to have. I've seen they make them for what looks like a guinea pig or a ferret and am wondering if a hedgehog would like one. I am also wondering about biting. I will admit that biting has deterred me from getting pretty much any animal except for fish and cats. The spines of the hedgehog don't bother me as I am use to getting pricked by cactuses. So do they have much of a tendency to bite. And if they do how do you get them to stop and discourage it from happening again?
Hedgehogs are very clumsy and fall of of things a lot so a slide probably wouldn't be the best exercise for them but a wheel is definetly necessary for hedgehogs! 😊😊
And they bite extremely rarely

Where did you get your playpen?
You can get one on Amazon. I found the same one she has on Amazon. It's also very cheap. Just type in "wire cages for small animals." Than you should see a picture of a product that looks like its in a box or something. That's how I found it. Hope that helped. Btw, I'm thinking of getting a hedgehog and I've been using snowdrophedgie to get my info.
Can you train a hedgie to be non-nocternal by keeping the lights on at night and shutting off the lights in the daytime?

It's dangerous and decreases their life span by atleast a few years
what happens if your hedgehog gets too hot? i know that they will go into hibernation mode if they are too cold
Chloe Lee they will spread out flat to cool down, maybe sticking out their tongue and panting. It’s not as lethal as hibernation but it’s not good for them. If this happens you should NOT put them in cold water or anything like that because they can go into shock and die. You should make them drink water and bring them to a cooler room.
Every winter i have about 5 hedgehogs at my doorstep.
How long does quilling take?
Jessica Stringer It is different for all hedgies.They do it during their first year, MOSTLY but not all and quilling can happen 3 times in that first year.Some actually do it in their later years.
