Everyone is entitled to their opinion I spent years driving them and apart from being noisy by modern standards found them a great cab with good visibility and basic but easy to use controls
@@tommyzoo no you're definitely right. user friendly for sure. i have a 393 and the shifters are between your legs. worst possible place. its extremely cramped in the cab. the seat is back as far as it can go and when i press the clutch i have to turn my leg sideways or else my knee goes in my stomach lol. idk if the 6 cylinder models are any bigger but jeez. worst cab ive ever been in. they're extremely tough tractors tho and its still being used pretty regularly.
Nalley Hay Farms I’m six foot and fit fine lol. Maybe you have much longer legs ! I mostly drive the HiLine models but the cabs were mostly the same but with a flatter floor. They did have a different cab for other markets ?? I was brought up on 100,500 and 600 series and actually liked the gear levers in the middle. In fairness on the 100 series’s it was quite a common thing to catch your trouser leg on them as you left the cab which usually made for a terrifying exit !
yeah its a 393 HiLine. id say a 399 almost has to have a bigger cab than a small frame 393. if not then they missed an opportunity there. it was my grandpas so id really like to retire it and restore it but we dont have a tractor that could take its place and the money isnt there for another one yet. hopefully one day
BMC Specialist cars oh yeah and hey there’s like 4 red ticks on the tach. What do those mean? Never seen them on other tractors. Usually just have 1 and that’s rated PTO
+Luke Traynor . The tractor is sold. But seriously, grow up and learn some manners. In my experience hours don't 'f**k' they clock up incrementally. Please do not reply as my 10 year old son reads these and rude and disgusting language maybe something you find acceptable but I certainly do not

No, naturally aspirated
What is the difference in the 398 and the 399??
Joshua Willis
398 was a 4 cylinder turbo. Shorter wheelbase
