What year model is this
@@nasiruyusuf8782 2016
I sold my gs450h 2 years ago and replaced it with a rx450h but still miss the Gs. Can’t think of another car that has that kind of performance, refinement & fuel economy. Spot on video by the way.
Thanks bud 👍🍻
How is the fuel consumption
The lovely steering wheel, gear shift and air con are well described. Type S spec, sunroof, memory seats, electric tailgate should be demonstrated as well as a look at the engine and oil (via dipstick).
To bad they didn't produce more and stopped production in 2013 or so, only in USA you can buy now a new version 😊one. This is disappointing 😢
Yep, totally agree. Honda UK are clueless when it comes to marketing unfortunately
@@tommyzoo EU are the same mate, I'm thinking to buy one from USA and registered in my home country, I need to find out how much cost to get it in Europe from USA and what fees to pay ☺️.
Got one myself in Silver... 2012 type S estate.. Great car.. Covered over 130k miles.. :-) The MOT on that one appears to have expired on the 14th July..😮
Everything you say about the Lexus hybrid CVT system is correct. It's an amazing system. I have a CT200H at the moment and live it but will be trading up to an IS300H in the new year. Brilliant cars.
Are these diesel 1.6 dtec engines very loud?
@@abdulshohid6298 they only Usually sound loud or diesely at lower speeds and idle. On the move and cruising they are generally quiet

How does it compare to the same age RX?
@@DavidColex completely different cars in all honestly. If you want practicality then the RX but the GS drives far nicer and will be much better on fuel
@@tommyzoo Gotcha. Im interested in comfort and sound insulation in a practical SUV shape, what would you recommend?
@@DavidColex obviously the RX and NX would be nice plus the later 19 plate onwards Hybrid Honda CRV's. I have just been across Spain and France in mine and it was a hell of a car

Love this guys vids ! Honda / Lexus rule . Trouble is it’s a hybrid 4 pot - perfectly nice but the 250 V6 is leagues better just Leagues , I’ve owned both . Great vid though lovely looking bit of kit so well made these cars just wish they stuck with the V6 but that’s progress
Please do show more of the key features, air con, elec seats, mirrors, sunroof etc.
@@OS993 the videos are only put on CZcams so they can be copied to the advert and not really for public viewing I am not aware of any other garage that does such extensive videos at this end of the market When I do the odd video of public interest I do try and go into more detail
I used to have one of these, the 2.4. I replaced it, due to rust, with a Volvo S80 3.2. As much as I love my Volvo, I really miss my Accord, such a good-looking car!
What year and mileage was it? Looking at a 2008 with 70k on it, but recent MOT says slight corrosion on front and rear suspension mounting points, so I’m not sure about it now. Might try get a later 2010/2011 model. The. 2.4 version are few and far between now, there mostly either 2.0 petrol or diesels
@@jonnygti 2008 2.4 with 59,000 miles. There were no signs of rust when I got it, but about a year later, rust appeared on the fenders.
@@lvpvsmalvm522 only after a year, and only 59k on it? I know it’s a 15-16 year old car, but that’s pretty poor. I’ve got a 2005 Toyota Avensis with 120k on the clock, no rust anywhere, just a tiny speck the size of a grain of rice on the passenger rear arch, just where the paint has started to turn brown, so I rust treated it and painted over it. Apart from that’s she’s all good
@@jonnygti Yeah but mileage doesn't really have anything to do with rust, It's age that matters more. And Japanese cars have less rust protection as their JDM cars didn't need it.
@@lvpvsmalvm522 yes but my Toyota is Japanese too, maybe Toyotas had better protection? You’ll have to take my word for it! I’m in England as well, we have salt thrown on the roads for half the year. I do keep my car clean though, washing by hand
Thanks for the video i have a 16 plate mint ex crv auto and have been thinking of potentially trading it in for the hybrid but was unsure its good to know the mpg is superior and build quality as good. I have just driven mine 1700 miles over just three days around scotlands issolated coastline the nc500 and it never missed a beat.
Not once did you mention fuel economy..Diesel or Petrol..the whole reason l watched your lengthy video to find out what fuel it uses!!! Grrrrr!!!!
the video is only posted for use on the advert it applied to and not for general public viewing. Sorry if you feel you have wasted your time
Are those cvt gearboxes good?
@@Kennynwten yep. Very good
Got this on my 2017 Honda civic 10 th gen it happens more in the winter months
@@michaeldoolan1723 it will be more pronounced in colder weather. They toughened up the clutches after the 2.2 ctdi clutches. But the hardness of the friction plate means it doesn’t heat up very quickly so you get judder. Rather that than the clutch slip they used to suffer from
Surly Honda should have a fix for this problem it’s condensation on the fly wheel
How much is it for and location please help with your contact number
Wow; I've never been so bored. I was after either of these cars; but I ended up falling asleep
Only 36,000 miles?!? Goodness gracious, someone is going to be a very fortunate owner!!
Kiero una de esa
This is great video. I'm trying to decide between Honda Accord coupe and 2010 Lexus is 250❤️
A well sorted example is an absolute bargain compared to a new Civic
That's not an ES. The ES has black inserts on the front between the headlights and badge and also 225/45 17's.
It is an ES model. Feel free to contact Honda with the reg number to confirm. The black inserts came on the refreshed 2009 onwards models with the larger tyres
Thanks for that! Cured the issue with my honda HRV 1.6 diesel. I literally pop it in 3rd, drive forward with clutch very near the top. Drop the clutch again and repeat and with being a slight downward driveway I don’t even have to rev/slip the clutch and then it’s smooth as silk as I pull away in 1st! 👍
Excellent review, and by the way I completely agree with you. Automotive journalists don’t get these cars. I purchased a used RL, for my winter car and love it ,it runs like a top and the seats are the most comfortable I’ve ever been in any car. I also have an RLX which has a much more modern and luxurious interior which I also absolutely love. When I bought the RL I was also considering the Lexus to compare but couldn’t find one for sale so bought the RL ( I’m in Canada) and haven’t regretted it.
Thanks for your information, I just purchased a 2008 Civic with iShift but it was a close decision to buy a 2009 Automatic model. The lower tax snd better fuel economy won me over. However many say Honda scrapped the iShift due to reliability problems (which I hope is rubbish)
If only I had some spare cash😞
Cheap to maintain, reliable engines. Took it to long trips 1300+ km without issues with the seats and my back. Large boot that has more space then some premium european cars. R18Z4 engine is the last naturally aspirated from it's kind from Honda and it will easily reach 300.000km without issues which could not be said for many other car makers out there.
That's a beauty..! 😊
Unfortunately the government is killing beautiful old cars like this. I fancied a Legend but the road tax is a staggering £735 per year. I won't pay it and that's what the government are banking on.
I have a CT200h and will be trading up to an IS300h early next year. I can testify to the fantastic build quality and engineering of these cars. The CVT never bothers me, in fact I love it and there's nothing quite as lovely as a Lexus interior. Brilliant, brilliant cars.
I bought gs300h 2weeks ago , absolutely love in it! Great car!!!!!
this my dream car
I no they r really good bom proof I got 2 0ne 2008 mk3and one2011idtec 2.2 witch I have just put a mk4engine in it at74yrs old Old. Engine got diesel in oil ruin it but that of yours is a lovely car drives lovely
Lovely comparo! I just wanted to say that this sort of large luxury sedan isn't exclusively an old man's choice - I'd say I'm a young guy, and even I'm interested by the Legend, cross shopping between that, a few smaller hatchbacks and sedans and a Volvo V70 to buy in the next 18 months. The idea of having something that has a good sound system, something quiet and something that's not gonna be a pain in my derrier, but that can still be a good bit of fun on a b-road. Cheers :D
Great to see someone who really knows how to drive. The honda engine gearbox is sublime and their chassis certainly punches above their weight as a basic 4dr. I'd put the chassis up with the best bmw 3 series.
thank you
Apparently the diesel 2.2 is better!
Both have pros and cons !
Thank you for a balanced real world assessment of two great cars.
Forget the car, as a non-english speaker, im literally mesmerized by your hyperbolic flowery language that is beautifully paired with so many pertinent adjectives. Im really here for the English masterclass.
With diesel you need to change the gear in my opinion around 3000 or more in town, because this kind of engine get clocked, dpf filter problem plus egr valve same. All the diesel have this problem inside town. On motorway it is a different story and it ok to change around 2000. Conclusion is , if you want a car only for town this is not ok because of dpf filter, buy petrol and never have problem, otherwise for motorway it is fine😊. One more thing on this diesel engines it is also a problem after a while the lambda O2 sensor's fail and they are so expensive to change. I know few people who have this kind of car and they had this problem but after high mileage around 150k.
Excellent car. Way too underrated. Everyone raves about the Germans but this takes the cake. It's so balanced and overall very high quality.
I own and drive one of these superb cars,it is so awesome ,I love this car,it is so fast when you nail it and it is so smooth ,his name is Rodney lol,
Hiya was wondering i live in the UK, havent had my own car since 2016, been renting out cars but id like to get my own car, used, would it be ok if i bought a honda civic 10th gen car at around 50k-70k mileage with the SR trim ? ive heard about the oil dilution problems, but im not sure if its ok for me to get that car with 50-70k mileage - it will probably be a honda civic 1.6 I-DTEC SR (diesel) or 1.5 VTEC Turbo SR (petrol) - UK versions of the car. thanks if u respond. Last time I driven when i had my own car was when I had the ep3 and i had that for a good 5 years but in this current age the oil dilution sort of put me off with the 10th gen model, im not wanting a brand new car, just used car.
the oil dilution issue seemed more common in much colder countries than ours, so personally I wouldn't be concerned at all. The dtec engine is very tough indeed so no real issues there at all. Also I see plenty of 1.5 Turbo engines with very high mileages that are still performing very well
Hi is this still available?
no, sorry
I have a civic tourer , great car but quite tricky to get comfortable in and the standard infotainment is pretty poor.
