The teeth on the Universal Studios shark looked ridiculous

Great video. I had no idea about the enlarged 'shot glass' tooth.

Loved the Deep as well both by benchley and both with the Legendary Robert Shaw!

I wonder if the small Bruce model that was shown from the author (the one he took from the shelf with barrels below) is an official product?

Apparently Robert Shaw frequently burst into laughter as the teeth tickled his stomach during filming!

Didn’t they forget to swap out the hard teeth for the soft ones when filming the estuary scene? I read many years ago that the stuntman in the boat actually got bitten!

I think that myth belongs in the same bag as Susan Backlinie got broken ribs from being pulled around in the water. Even she denied that one.

I know they used shark teeth in the orginal jaws the ride from the opening of universal they said it kept popping the boats was one of the reason they closed it and had to rebuild it from the ground up

That large tooth looks too big for the Ben Gardiner scene. I'm seeing this information pop up online a lot more recently and I'm wondering where is the source for this? Are you sure this large tooth isn't from the Jaws 3-D shark? That's what I heard years ago. They used the same teeth mould for Jaws, Jaws 2 and Jaws 3-D, but obviously had to create a bigger tooth for the in scale 35ft shark head used for the film. The tooth Hooper pulls from Ben Gardiners boat looks like one from the original set of 7.

The set of teeth in the video have been molded from the original set obtained from Roy Arbogast.

@@TheDailyJaws Yes I know that as I have a set myself, in a frame of the 7 teeth used for the mechanical shark. Roy worked on the first 3 Jaws movies. The query is about the very large tooth that's not part of that original 7. I'm under the impression this was created for Jaws 3-D, not the original Jaws.

    Great vid Ross
Good job they didn't mix-up the soft set & hard set on Quints demise !
We've had the background on Pippit, how about Martin's dog ? Seen on the bed and on the couch, when flipping through the shark books.
ITV screening just had to watched again, despite knowing every line, scene etc !
Very few films have that pull.
Noticed that many quote Brody, firing that final rifle shot, as "smile", pretty sure he utters "fire !"
