He used to drink. In his books he talks about the drinking culture at Man U when he first went there and how he took part in it.
Only 2 pints after the match day, thats all. Giggsy, Gary were all doing the same too. Excessive drinking is forbidden as drinking culture was the first big enemy to rid off during SAF early years, also SAF had moles at every pub in Manchester, he could watch all of his players.

Some people can't just have a few pints, a laugh and leave it there. In his book he says how he realised that to extend his career and be a better player for longer he needed to knock the bevy on the head.
