Gary Neville became Valencia manager in December 2015 but only survived until March 2016. Gary was questioned on his time in Spain when he made his first appearance back on MNF, much to the delight of Jamie Carragher.

Let us know which classic Sky clips you want to see next!
ANYTHING where Neville gets roasted will be great thx YNWA:)
Nobody wants to grow up and be Gary Neville.
Mr T Massey i know its a joke but gary n has had a great life some people dream of and for
Tony Yeboah
Upload the clip where Gary was talking about how Hazard can adapt to being man marked and used Messi in the 2015 Copa Del Rey as an example.
I thought they found him and was asking how he feels about Liverpool winning the league. Either way this is brilliant
Ikr that would have been jokes
This vid was from ages ago. They just decided to post it again.
They baited all of us
@@harsha7600 yea,guess he's still missing
I think he is missing on purpose to make it interesting for sky viewers as they know Gary has a bad feeling towards Liverpool so LFC winning league Gary hasnt had his say. Making it interesting by hiding him..
This is an interesting video but don't let it distract you from the fact that Gary Neville's dad is called Neville Neville
For real?😂😂
Here's to you Neville Neville your boys have won the treble and you knowwww ohhhh
Rest in peace to him
Neville Neville Neville III
Was his face a mess?
Gary deserves respect for trying, failing badly and still having the courage to come on national TV and take the stick he gets about it constantly.
What, that joke at the end?
@@asticou04 no the Valencia job
@@asticou04 LOLLLLL
...doesn't deserve much respect for his sanctimony tokenistic gestures about the Super League given his ties to Peter Lim...
He didn’t even do that bad. Lots of managers have not done great early in their careers and progressed. He’s probably had many offers since and turned them down. None as big as the Valencia job but still will have had offers.
I love how Gary was honest in his assessment of his own performance. Still a top guy.
The intro needs some sound. I feel as if I've gone deaf whenever I click your videos lol
Who can argue with Mr. Namikaze himself
Watch elsewhere whinge balls
barry aylward he’s giving some constructive criticism shut up
Be comfortable with silence
@@KillShot-ln6mn Well said, we don't always have to be talking or have noise.
The best duo on skysports in a long time
and now Valencia have just sacked their manager.
Really???
If so,
Bring back Neville
I thought celades still at the club, or you refer to marcelino (sacked earlier this season)?
@@TheLOLcommercials celades has been sacked today !
So THAT'S where Gary is! Not Papua New Ginea!!!
TheLOLcommercials shouldn’t even sack marcelino in the first place
“The worst I’ve felt since Carragher came to Sky” **cue awkward silence** hahaha
Please date these videos or at least put the year they were filmed in the description
I assume it's probably September 2016 since Carra said he's been waiting for 6 months and Gary's been sacked in March 2016 but I could be wrong
It was Conte's first game for Chelsea, vs West Ham 15/08/16
NOOOOO little patoto man
You were always my favourite🥺
Being a manager seems really tough. People think it’s like FIFA lol
At a huge club today with the younger players it would be the worst job in the world. Young 20 something hundred millionaries. You have to have a PHD in drama and excessive ego.
At £12 an hour as well. 🙄
👍
It’s easy just buy big players or park the buss
As a Liverpool fan, I have massive respect for Neville. The rivalry will always be there, but he's one of the most honest, unbiased and enjoyable pundits/analysts out there. He can both take stick and dish it out. His dynamic with Carragher is brilliant as well.
unbiased hahaha
wouldn’t call him unbiased
unbiased? He said Ronaldo is better than messi
Love the banter between Gary and Jamie. 2 decent blokes loving what they do. Best wishes to them both!
0:25 Carragher just chillin there😂
Nearly 4 years is deemed retro??? Surely you have more in this archive of footage you have that is classic from 20-25 years ago.
El JJJ I think they want to rewrite their history of Andy Gray
Most of it has keys and gray on it though
The problem is they can't show anything with Richard Keys and Andy Gray and they were both with Sky for about twenty years.
It’s gonna be retro since Gary Neville‘s disappearance will affect us for years to come.
They just wanna be controversial!
Always love Neville's honesty
Have they found gary yet
Good for him
Man utd fan's can't take banter
Lol, good one. Most of us united fans are in hiding tho
@Ole Out man u's treble winning team is the most overrated premier league team
Moonis Usman Where They belong United fans create no atmosphere glory hunting pricks
I could listen to this pair all day, their banter is hilarious and it’s obvious they are good pals..!
Liverpool winning the premier league must hurt even more.
No not really when you support both teams. Winner either way. :-)
@@CEO786 how can you support two teams who are rivals???! FAKE FAN
Not when you’ve won the league 13 times already
@@synamo1531 facts 😂
No.
Neville and Carragher are Gold.👌x
Dear Sky,
please hire Muse to make a 5 second synthwave track with vocoder harmonized over the top Queen inspired double tracked layered vocals with Matt Bellamy and the band singing "sky sports RETROOO!"
Here after Gary Neville saved football with his passionate speech against the Super League. How gracefully he has moved on from a failure in management by becoming a fantastic pundit. A true winner.
lol he has not saved football
SAVING football or whatever you want to call it was the work of Boris Jhonson in collaboration with UEFA and Infantino.
@@rezaF_ Yeah, but can't deny the fact that the way Gary (and Jamie) came out opposed to those plans helped immensely to put pressure on the political leaders.
@@sepandee Neville and Carragher are employees of Sky and Been. And these companies have "big infinite time money" contracts with Premier League. They would surely use every bit of their power to avoid Super League from happening.
@@rezaF_ just because they're employees doesn't mean they have to do their employer's bidding all the time. They can still formulate their own opinion and fight for it even outside of sky, which is what they did. Why can't we see them as two blokes who genuinely love the sport and thought the super league wouldnt do it any good?
I love how the atmosphere has an underlying feeling of awkwardness and tension after they laugh.
Please put date clip is from in description
*Liverpool fans should remember, that, there was a real possibility this season wouldn't be finished & Neville fought for it to be completed.*
U got to love these two , absolutely brilliant neville and carragher
"Neymar taking the - can I say?" 😂😂
What was he talking about...I didn't get it
Best pundit ever. Makes great tv and intresting logical points.
Gary and Cara carry this show on their backs
His time at Valencia doesnt mean he has no idea about management, he went to a foreign league not speaking the language to a struggling team. At least he tried
Don't forget though he was also an assistant to Roy Hodgson at England. Gary quit with Roy the day after Iceland beat them.
Every time that intro comes in I have to check my sound because I think I've muted it or something's gone wrong.
For Gary, Sky's the limit.
who here after 7-0 liverpool
I think Gary deserves respect for giving it a go, Carragher can't really laugh too much until he tries management, especially in another country.
Give us the full video.
Retro come on Andy gray is retro
But Andy Gray has said some stuff
V T he said ur ma smokes ched
Legend is he's still hanging out the back somewhere 😜
Silk UK haha I remember that
@@silkuk8417 It wasn't Andy Gray who said that. Richard Keys said it to Jamie Redknapp.
The duo is the best. The reason I watch Sky Sports and MNF!
The mutual respect that jimmy and gary has for each other is great..
Where’s Gary new book out now
Respect to Gary!!!
Off to watch that match
Anything over a week is retro for Sky Sports
Carra and Neville class act together
This Aged well
I always wanted to know how he dealt with the language barrier
i love how gary talks about football
Very honest Guy !!
No matter how much Carragher roasts Gary back home he has got way more Medals than Him ( PL , CL , FA, Carling, Club WC) and so on!!
I want to see Jaime be a manager and see how thing will go
Jamie even thinks he’s a better player when Gary has 8pl titles 😭
@@ibz4128 Football is a team game. Djimi Traore has a CL medal, Cantona doesn't. Does that mean Traore was a better player? Of course not. What a player wins is more dependent on the team they play in, not how good or bad they are/were.
Ya can't take banter can ya, ffs
@@jaysmith2858 so you're saying cara was better than gary?
Jay Smith if u think Jamie CARRAGHER is a better player than u seriously need to watch football
How was the stint at Valencia?
Caragher was one with the white handsheets waving as well
This was gold!!!
Gary learnt the hard way what it takes to be a football manager such a demanding job especially when you're with a team fighting for a top four place
Gather round and hear the tales of the golden era of grandpa Vince
Driving your car on the wrong side of the road in Valencia city. That was the highlight for many 😂😂👍
0:23 What does Carra have on the bottom of his shoes?
Looks like standard leather sole. Rubber end cap on the heels.
the banter duo 🤣🤣
Lmao the way they all went silent at the end 🤣
True Besties
who would’ve known back then that carra and nev would be a great combo for sky
My mate was at Valencia during that time and said he was a good guy/man manager but literally had no idea in terms of attack and defence systems and how to implement them.
I was playing there and Gary didn’t have a clue on the language not the tactics.
Sid Rahman aye sure pal
H P I’m not indian I’ll have you know - not sure how you assumed that. Lol. My name is Arabic in fact.
Joe Cunningham lol
So Gary will only be in the Retro channel now?
The awkward silence and stare at the end makes this clip haha
Hey Gary,
How was your trip to PNG anyway 🤪
Retro
2016
Choose one.
True story. My son was having a nightmare. As i walked in his room, he sat up in bed and shouted "You look like Gary neville!".
People don't realize how difficult it is to move to a country and a league when you don't speak the native language, and then excel there. That's why Cristiano is always going to be special for me. Came to England, struggled, outworked everyone, took it as a challenge and then conquered everything. Then went to Real Madrid, did the same. And proving everyone wrong now in Italy.
You can’t compare the experience for a player and a manger
practically every mid to top South American player has to move and acclimate to European culture and customs. It comes with the job
Love these guys
Best pundit Duo. They are like Tom and Jerry 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Gary "the reality of it is" Neville
Was he talking about this in papa New Guinea?
Gary Neville going to Valencia was bonkers
Where's Gary now?
In exile
Papa New Guinea
He was just found
Hats off to Garry for trying management. Over to you Jamie..
He would never he just a scared shitty player
“Don’t believe everything you see on the internet” ~ William Shakespeare
cool to see they’re bros these days
The award laughs as Carragher realises he probably wasn't joking 🤣 comedy gold
Where’s Gary ..
Never have any regrets about what you did do. Only regret the things you didn't do.
Also, Gary was following Nuno Espirito Santo which he should've known at the time was impossible ;)
2:41 Neville not in shot begging Carra not to make fun of him
got a lot of respect for gary
jamie could only dream of having the balls to take on a job like that.
nail it Jamie!!
😂😂😂!!!! the ending!
You can sense he meant it.
0:23 Nice shoes
Well at least he tried his luck maybe it wasn't for him everyone isn't good at everything
Just like Bobby Charlton tried his luck at Preston North End. He flopped too. Must be a man utd thing.😂
Underrated moment - When neville does the fergie chew over @takisobienick comment
ah yes the best pundit combo in history of television
Dealt with that in a very dignified manner.
Still weird this happened, imagine if a Spanish pundit got his first job at a big English team?
Simon I do believe Neville may have had a footballing career before he became a pundit. That might have helped
Simon 400 appearances for United, nearly 100 caps for England, over 100 champions league appearances, 8 times premier league winner, 2 times champions league winner, assistant manager of England - silly comment mate!
He was England assistant manger at the time
Not really weird. Gary was a top full back for a decade and is the most decorated English player I belive. He has his coaching badges and worked under the best ever manager and world class coaches
@@generichuman2044 yeah but still no managerial experience. You cant hire someone to coach for a big club purely beause of their playing career. Especially with the language barrier.
That awkwardness at the end was palpable.
جاري نيفيل ماشاء الله بيضااااااااان
استمر يا بطل
look like sky retro runs out of Retro Clips.
...
Ah! You got us with the clickbait. The person who derived the title deserves a promotion.
What a hard life he has he should get the George cross for his struggles
Ive waited 6 months for this..... Puts feet up 🤣🤣🤣
He learned that management is not for him.
Carragher a knacker
Well, at least he tried and fought for it.
Carragher takes the piss but fair doos to Nev at least he gave it a go. More than most people. Plus carragher never did nothing but score own goals
