Alonso won't become an "average manager", even if Leverkusen don't have another incredible season like this one. He is one of the most talented managers in years.
Plus, the pundits make it sound like Leverkusen is some relegation fodder club that will fall apart once a few players leave - they won't. First, their sporting director is top notch and their scouting excellent. Second, they actually do have considerable funds, especially with CL football guaranteed next season. And third, Wirtz, their by far most important player, won't be going anywhere - Wirtz wouldn't have left Leverkusen even if Alonso had.
