We've finally got an array of talent that don't have to play like England have for the last 50 years and a manager so clueless he sees that as a problem rather an opportunity to finally have the continent running scared. It's almost like that wc semi and euro final only came about because the players under top foreign coaches in the league seemed oblivious to the England mentality of previous generations and Southgate was superfluous in his influence on their mindset. He was more like an amiable stand in pe teacher just there to keep a bit of order and general direction.
The more he's been allowed scope to think of himself as a manager, the more out of his depth he's got, his lower Championship at best expertise is seriously debilitating England the more precocious and younger the talent at his disposal gets. It's now reached critical point and the irresponsible media are neglecting their duty in not calling this untenable situation out more vocally before the damage he does sets us back years. It's obvious Southgate represents something to the modern establishment and their neutered media beyond football and they're prepared to sacrifice England's potential for matters totally unrelated to the game.

England have Tomori, Guehi, Konsa, Gomez, Quansah and Braithwaite all fast defenders, comfortable on the ball and can defend one on and he ignores them to play Maguire 2.0 Dunk, makes mistakes in both games that cost a goal. All your facts are correct, and it is a scandal England invented football it is imbedded in our culture and we have probably the largest league pyramid in the world and therefore participation numbers. We now have the richest league and therefore top level facilities for our young players, who now coach to have excelkent technique and preparation. How we have managed to underachieve is ridiculous. The one area we fail on and I don't know why is producing top coaches and as a consequence this is probably the issue You either have English coach who is not good enough or a foreign coach like Capello who does not understand the culture mentality. At the end of the day England is a huge footballing country and regardless of yhe record it should be spoken of as one of the countries to win these tournaments.

Instead he'd overplay his main stays, especially when they were continuously poor through out their club seasons.
There has been talent amongst this nation for years now, but he didn't want to integrate them, or even develop a style that will hold England dominate against other nations, just your basic individual brilliance playstyle that won't hold up once every nation understands England's squad.
Now we've got talks of not taking Sterling or Rashford, so only now are Toney (fairs, he had a looming ban but still could have used him until he was actually suspended) and Ollie getting games but they should have been more included before when all we really had was Kane.

As for the argument about Maguire: I’m still struggling to remember a moment in any of the 3 knockout tournament games England lost where Maguire was at fault. Walker and Stones got it wrong for Croatia’s winner and Italy equaliser was from a scrappy bouncing ball from a corner. Henderson was too knackered to get to Greizmann cross. Reason why 3 in back didn't work in past for Southgate's England is in part that he kept playing Walker as RCB instead of right wingback. CB was clearly not Walker's game. Maybe worth going back to that but with Walker as RWB. It's time to move on from Henderson, Maguire and Sterling. Go with youth like Mainoo, Branthwaite and Palmer.
