    Jeez. You'd think the gay and lesbain community would be a little more understanding towards the bisexual. considering they know what it's like to be oppressed and judged for who you love. Smh. We all need to accept each other in order to move on from prejudice, ignorance and hatred has no place in this world.

      I agree. I believe the problem is that the others feel he has the option to be "normal", while they don't, so there is animosity. That is why the transgender woman didn't have a problem with him. She considered herself straight and normal by society's standpoint.

    I had a hard time understanding why the rest of the group was out-casting the bisexual man & saying he wasn't a part of their community. I'm a bisexual woman and I took offense to that because in the LGBT community, the B stands for Bisexual. It is Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgendered community. LGBT. We bisexuals are a part of this community. Just because a gay man or a lesbian woman doesn't understand why we are and can be attracted to both sexes, doesn't make it impossible. I really loved how the bisexual man carried himself in the end and stuck up for the bisexuals. It gives us a voice when no one else will listen.

    This was a very disturbing episode of Tyra. I was sad to see that some members of LGBT community had these prejudices about each other. We should be trying to come together instead of being divided. I'm gay but just seeing the way they treated that bisexual man. As anyone being gay, lesbian, or transgender you should know how hard it is to truly understand yourself and for them to tell the bisexual man he was going through a phase is disgusting. The labels that they were giving them selfs were horrible to masculine feminine who gives a shit just be a gay person or a lesbian person. This was horrible I hope they learned something from this experiment.

    I really don't understand why so many think that being bisexual or pansexual is a "cop out." Biologically it's been very common throughout history for homo-sapiens (especially females - but it goes for males as well) to be at least sexually attracted to both genders. This isn't a new or surprising concept in the slightest.
    I identify as being Pansexual. I personally don't care what your gender, age, race, or sexual orientation is. To me - it's about the person inside. THAT is what I find attractive both physically and emotionally.

    There IS a lot more drug abuse in the LGBT community, not because of their orientation - but because of secondary emotional hardship caused by the clashes with heteronormative society. Also, it's harder to find a stable relationship since the "market" is a lot smaller. It's the same reason as to why gay men take their lives to a greater extent than straight males of the same age group.
    So stop being such a baby about it, geez.

    • @mrpontyboi
      @mrpontyboi Před 10 lety

      So straight men in their 20's and in college aren't on drugs, drinking and fucking everything moving aswell? lol We are all the same when it comes to sex and lifestyle its just gay peoples sex lives are more in focus as people see gay man and think of sex.

    • @EnergyCuddles
      @EnergyCuddles Před 10 lety +1

      Drug use is more widespread in the gay community, there are studies that have been made on the subject. They are like ripe fruit of knowledge that you can reach out and take a bite out of, if you had wanted to.
      It's a culture thing too. Here, drug use is *MUCH* less common than in the United States, for example.
      Gay men's sex life IS more in focus, yes, but not only for the heteronormative society but also for them themselves. I know from *personal* experience that focus is a lot more on that, since they also have to battle with the element of comparison, whereas a male and female are different in that aspect and cannot be compared in the same way.

    • @mrpontyboi
      @mrpontyboi Před 10 lety +1

      Ok there may be "studies" can I ask if you're a part of the gay community because ive worked on the straight club scene and the gay scene in large venues and I can tell you that from my experience cocaine, speed, ecstacy, mdma has been a lot more in use amongst the straight crowds. The one thing with the gay community I found to be more wide spread is ketamine but overall the straight scene has been a lot more drug orientated and promiscuousness is probably on the same level. Men just talk about it more, the girls are just as bad but don't want to be seen as sluts.

  • @fkinVilley
    @fkinVilley Před 9 lety +8

    Since this show has aired I think there has been a lot of good evolution in the lgbt community. Not because of this show but anyway. For example it seems that transgenders have a great support system in their own community and have now the choice of saying themselves if they feel that they r a part of the lgbt community or not. And also it seems more and more people finally understand in the gay community what bisexuality means. How I feel about it as a gay man is that it's nobody's business where anyone belongs in the straight-bi-gay-scale. Everyone knows for themselves and takes care of themselves and lives their own lives.
    The biggest thing that STILL is a huge issue, and still hasn't got attention is the fem & masculine - thing. Those words we should just get rid of. Not only do they have patriarchal backgrounds but they are still being used very degradingly or the opposite. (for example the word: girly ! very rarely do we hear that word used as an endearment at someone). I know what people MEAN when they use the words masculine and feminine but to me they still don't make ANY SENSE and using those words is not always but often very harmful. Masculine as a word comes from male (or something idk) and feminine comes from female. There SHOULD NOT BE any rules for what women and what men can wear or how they should act. Those rules are bullshit. And anyone who tries to tell u they're not, are ignorant and stupid and seem to enjoy when other people suffer ! Everyone should act, dress and speak the way they feel, not the way someone tells you to feel. If it feels right and feels good to dress a certain way then you should and other people can have their reactions to it if they need to (we can't expect miracles), we just have to be strong and fight for our rights to be who we are, or someday we do not even have the right to fight for it. It's sad to hear these real stories of kids whose religious conservative parents put them on hormones and tell the kids they r now trans only because they play with other gender's toys or clothes or act out of their "gender norms". Those idiot parents can't handle having a "feminine" gay son and they tell him that he sould become a girl. It's ironic and yet shocking. There is absolutely nothing wrong with being transgender. That is normal, but what's not normal is to force ideas into kids head that there's things that are feminine and things that are masculine. I think we are already screwed and it takes a lot of people to change this shit and most of them are brainwashed idiots so I don't know... I just hope that things would change and kids didn't have to be bullied or told or made feel by other kids and even adults that they are not as important or special when they are not acting masculine as boys or feminine as girls.

    Lmfao this episode I remember watching as a teenager 😂🤣 even then I knew wow…Tyra Banks is one of the most messed up ppl on tv lol. These social experiments and really ALL of her episodes are just sickening. Definitely entertaining however…messed up.

    This is so played out and fictitious - clearly staged for the purposes of drama. Yes, the LGBTQ+ is fairly superficial, but not like this. The community is full of labels, but I have to absolutely disagree that any members of the community would think they're better than another group.

    I thought at first the butch lesbians and transgender should have been first because I feel the people who are most negatively portrayed in society and have gone through the most should be first, but I think every types equal just in different ways.

    I just noticed that by labeling or identifying one's sexual or gender preference that we start discriminating on each others choices.. Its just like saying , Hey, I am a pansexual but currently preferring to be called an asexual genderqueer identifying myself as a butch transgender with the psychological makeup of a lipstick lesbian and I am superior in this minority group that is currently dominated by heterosexual males and females because of my affiliation to a more diverse plethora of alternate sexual or asexual gender preference that made me more advance because I am more confused than the rest of you people and I would really prefer not to be identified or labeled but because I needed to be with a certain group where I can get support and understanding and at the same time, I can unleash my primal instinct to discriminate against another group which I find inferior, Really now guys, we are fighting all this time against homophobia, sexual discrimination social inequality etc. but we are actually doing the very same thing to one another. What a shame...

      How'd you explain Christians agreeing and disagreeing with gay and lesbian people? Does God want to destroy his own religion, too?
      In every community, albeit the lgbt or Christian community, there are bound to be disputes and differences. It's human nature, we are all unique. You might like bread for breakfast and another Christian likes cereal instead. So what? Differences in opinions are just there. Everywhere. You shouldn't claim god is behind it in this particular community.
