It is one thing to disagree with someone's choice. I however, find Tyra's actions extremely distasteful because she is actively trying to humiliate someone on national television who was forced to make a choice in order to survive. She was in the unfortunate position where if she wanted to make a substantial income to support herself and her unborn child, this was the only option readily available to her. She made it clear that her family did not support her, nor did the father of the child, and that she could not make enough money at her previous job to pay for all the expenses. Tyra chose to put her on the spot to level her own morality, rather than taking this opportunity to foster a sense of understanding that not all of us get the same chances in life.
Tyra literally made my blood boil. She asked the audience, "who is having money issues" and said that they aren't prostitutes so neither should alana be. She was falling behind on bills, getting a job as a cashier/McDonald's etc..was just going to earn a minimum wage. A woman who has no money cannot expect to pay her bills and have leftover money for her baby. Like she said, she needed immediate money to get herself back on her feet. I don't blame her. She's going to be a great mother. She doesn't ALWAYS have sex with guys, she said some times the guys just want to help her out, watch tv, talk, just give her money. I want to Thank everyone for their love. My life update is; I am married an amazing man and I finished college and a technical degree and work very hard. I would NOT change the path I took. As I'm older now I make better choices and have learned from the path I walked. Tyra was very hurtful. She honestly did a little damage to me at the time. I felt like the world was against me. All I wanted was to share my story, maybe someone could of learned something even if it was one woman who was about to make a choice she couldn't change.

Oh and working as a prostitute isn't just about the sex. Like when they were talking about the 30yr old virgin I liked the girls theory. When you're a prostitute the men don't just want to have sex and leave. A lot of them come for company and to feel close to people and have the 'girlfriend' experience and feel loved and be touched. It's not all dirty and disgusting.
I managed a strip club for 10 years (I'm female and all of the management were, too, so the girls didn't have to deal with male managers who notoriously take advantage of dancers) and one of the most successful girls that worked there was a pregnant girl named Susie. She started working long before she became pregnant, but once she was, her popularity skyrocketed. Some guys definitely loved the pregnancy aspect, or had lactation fetishes or large breast,. But I also noticed that she took on a different aura as she got increasingly bigger. She was really confident and comfortable with the way she looked (I mean, you can't hide anything when you are 8 months pregnant) and I think men picked up on that. She had some strange guys, for sure, but they all had their share. She had plenty of guys who would come in and pay for her time to rub her back or her feet. Some guys were put off and would give her whatever she wanted to make for her shift so she could leave early because they didn't feel right seeing a pregnant woman working. Either way, for her, it was a win/win situation.

how is she endangering her child? no one is there for her. she had no money. she couldn't get a job. her baby's father is not helping to provide. if she chose legal prostitution, so what? she's making fast money, she's going to be able to provide for her child, she CHOSE this to PROTECT her baby. her baby is in no danger. the owner of the bunny ranch said at the beginning that it's all about being SAFE and having fun. unless you think the head of a man's penis is somehow going to endanger the baby in the womb. i expected more from tyra. there were people in the audience who were like "get a job." it's hard to get a well-paying job as a woman period, let alone as a six-months-pregnant woman. she probably would have had to, as she said, work at a fast food joint (if she even got a job), and that does not pay the bills that were piling up. her car was going to get repo'd. she would need that to GET to work. getting a job before pregnancy and keeping it during is easier than having no job and then applying while pregnant. no one is understanding this woman. rather, they judge her for being a prostitute. and honestly, harshly judging a woman for having sex in this society is nothing new.

the main focus should have been on the man who put that child in her. he should have been the one taking the heat. he got to sit on the stage just to agree with tyra that it disgusts him and then go back and sit in the audience while they picked her apart some more. I agree with Tyra. She’s crying acting like a victim, like that was her only option. It was just a easy way for her, but definitely not her only option. She’s crying, stressing and it’s obvious that she can’t handle the job, so why do it stressing you and your baby out? She’s not being a good mom to me because as a mother you wouldn’t lower yourself. You try your best to make it how you can, but you definitely don’t have sex with guys for money or a whole bunch of guys while you’re pregnant because to me that’s not doing all you can for your kids. Tyra tends to come off as very judgemental / quick to judge with every show, but this one in particular broke my heart. Tyra did nothing to lift up this suffering soul. She completely broke her down and jumped to every negative she could. I bet this woman walked away even more broken than she came in... My heart aches for her.

It is one thing to disagree with someone's choice. I however, find Tyra's actions extremely distasteful because she is actively trying to humiliate someone on national television who was forced to make a choice in order to survive. She was in the unfortunate position where if she wanted to make a substantial income to support herself and her unborn child, this was the only option readily available to her. She made it clear that her family did not support her, nor did the father of the child, and that she could not make enough money at her previous job to pay for all the expenses. Tyra chose to put her on the spot to level her own morality, rather than taking this opportunity to foster a sense of understanding that not all of us get the same chances in life.

I want to Thank everyone for their love. My life update is; I am married an amazing man and I finished college and a technical degree and work very hard. I would NOT change the path I took. As I'm older now I make better choices and have learned from the path I walked. Tyra was very hurtful. She honestly did a little damage to me at the time. I felt like the world was against me. All I wanted was to share my story, maybe someone could of learned something even if it was one woman who was about to make a choice she couldn't change.

Oh and working as a prostitute isn't just about the sex. Like when they were talking about the 30yr old virgin I liked the girls theory. When you're a prostitute the men don't just want to have sex and leave. A lot of them come for company and to feel close to people and have the 'girlfriend' experience and feel loved and be touched.
