    One thing I've learned about the "laser" mode is that you have to view the camera lens straight on. There is a LOT of ducking down and moving around to get a more thorough scan for hidden cameras.

    Hi! Do you know how much each LED light represents with regards to wireless frequencies?? Would the first light indicate that it's measuring, let's say, 2ghz?? and then measure higher frequencies when more lights are flashing?? The manual wasn't very helpful. Thanks!!

    • @HalfBreedMix
      @HalfBreedMix  Před 8 lety +2

      +daniB5000 My guess is it's just a visualization of the proximity to the source. Keep in mind you can adjust the sensitivity on the wheel to make all the LED's light up; if each light WAS a different frequency, then only certain LED's would light no matter how high you turned the wheel ;-)

    Good idea on the LED strobe function to use for other purposes such as a hazard indicator. If your car breaks down for instance. I didn't think of that. Thanks. I thumbed up the video.

    Thank you for this review! I’m a total idiot when it comes to technology but we got a new set of tires and they told us there was an old GPS tracker under our car! It scared me to death! If I have WiFi and it’s going off (probably) bc of that, are you saying I should dial it down and walk around slowly to see if it detects other devices? Or should I unplug my WiFi? Thank you so much!

    • @HalfBreedMix
      @HalfBreedMix  Před 4 lety +5

      I would turn off the WiFi, then do your walk around. As for the GPS tracker, did you buy this car "used" lately? If so, I wouldn't freak out.

    I got it from elsewhere. I just bought. If I put it next to the wifi transmitter, its battery will run out within 1 hour if its sound is constantly on. What do you think about this? It didn't seem normal to me that it was over so quickly.

    • @HalfBreedMix
      @HalfBreedMix  Před rokem

      It's a detector, so you are meant to sweep and find bugs/wi-fi/cameras/etc NOT continuously run it. 1 full hour of detection on a single set of batteries isn't that bad, all things considered.

    • @HalfBreedMix
      @HalfBreedMix  Před rokem

      Turn down the sensetivity wheel to zero and slowly adjust it up. Start the process before you get near things like wi-fi routers and the like (so you can get a good base line).

    Can you Please Advise on how to check the car for GPS tracking?

    • @HalfBreedMix
      @HalfBreedMix  Před 3 lety

      Cars are tricky because they have so much tech in them now-a-days. If you are using a device like the one in the video; turn off the car and disconnect the battery, wait for a minute or so, then sweep around with your detector. Most stick on trackers are self-powered, so they should still be transmitting even with the car battery disconnected. If you are talking about an OEM system built into the car (like OnStar) that's a different story.

    • @HalfBreedMix
      @HalfBreedMix  Před rokem +1

      Since those don't need to send out a radio signal, they are a lot harder to detect. For this gadget you would have to depend on the lens-reflecting method to find the hardwired cameras.

  • @johndangelo3989
    @johndangelo3989 Před 5 lety

    Hi, you tried to give a decent demonstration and this is needed because the information supplied with the unit is terrible! One very important piece of missing info is how the battery is charged. The unit comes charged, but I do not know when the battery will need charging and when charging, what is the level of charge. My units (4) came with a USB connector, but there was no wall unit. I have other chargers so this is not a problem for me. I also connected it directly to my home computer via USB and this worked. I am giving these to my daughter and grandchildren to take with them on trips and probably will write my own instruction manual for them to use, but I sure would like the charging info!

    @01DB Před 9 lety

    Does it detect cameras that are operational or just the camera?

    • @HalfBreedMix
      @HalfBreedMix  Před 9 lety +4

      David Bramhall If the (wireless) camera is "ON" and transmitting a radio signal, then you can detect it with the "blip blip" sounds and row of LED lights on the unit. If the same wireless camera is "OFF", you will only find it by using the red peek-thru lens and flashing LED's on the back of the unit. If the camera is wired (non-wireless), only the peek-thru lens will work. If someone is really good at spying on people and has access to the room prior to your arrival, they will use a wired guised camera (like a camera mounted inside a wall clock); at this point you will have to figure out what may be a camera and just unplug the damn thing.

    • @01DB
      @01DB Před 9 lety +2

      Appreciate your answer, ive got a neighbour who claims the camera isnt working but i believe hes disconnected the leds to make it look inactive, as hes got some knowledge in electronics, ithink its a wired camera as the blinds behind it are misangled so if i got one of these would it indicate if the camera was active?

    • @HalfBreedMix
      @HalfBreedMix  Před 9 lety +3

      David Bramhall If it's wired, this gadget wouldn't help you any (you already know there is a camera, and since it's wired, it won't be transmitting a radio signal). HOWEVER, the camera may still be a wireless camera; I say this because the wire going thru the blinds may just be the power cable. If this is the case and the camera is wireless, then this gadget could be helpful in detecting if the camera is on or off. Keep in mind though, your neighbor may have a router in his house, and you could be detecting that. So you would have to get darn close to that camera to figure out if it's the source of the signal or not.
