Why are you watching someone talk about it then? Yeah it's ridiculous. But you have to think about it from the mental side. Something upset them, they want someone to either agree with them or sometimes beat caring about it out of them. People are told, you can talk about things on line to other people. Same as you would your next door neighbor over coffee or Joe down at the Bar. So it's not surprising they do it. What's surprising is why so many people make so much of them doing it. And if you ask, which you probably wouldn't as to why I'm here. To me, listening to something like this is a thought exercise, how I would I deal with this, is this person over the top or are there legitimate points. I'm not their audience, I'm not in their world. I'm looking at info someone gives me, and use to to improve my brain.

The fact that this turned into the biggest argument of a 17 year marriage tells me it ain't really about the toilet water. They'll be in divorce court six months from now.
I kind of tend to agree, though maybe not with the divorce prediction.
I think it's likely that there are other conflict issues that have never been really resolved, so little things like this become a tipping point to cause an unreasonably large argument.
Or, maybe she just has a personality type that conflates conflict with passion/engagement/interest, so feels an almost unconscious need to create conflict in an otherwise stable and "boring" relationship.

My dad was a plumber, he always told me to only use the stuff that hangs under the toilet bowl rim and never put anything in the tank. The tablets that go into the tank can alter the seal and cause it to not seal properly. It can slowly run up your water bill since the water will continue to cycle.

I will never use that thing that hangs over the rim ever again 😂, one of my kids dropped it and flushed it. Had to call a plumber, rip up the toilet and further down the pipes THERE it was. The kid didn't tell us that had happened of course.

Yes, it makes sense in a 7/11 to have the blue water to have a visual cue that the toilet needs some cleaning done because several people are in charge of that and it might not happen regularly. I was trying to understand her because I've gotten annoyed over colored toilet water due to me having Crohn's disease and when there is color in the toilet water, I can't see if there is blood present.

@hopelessromantic3786 sometimes the blood is very darkly mixed in with the stool so it's already quite hard to see, so if the water had a color it would be difficult to see the difference between dark spots from blood or just from the cleaning product.
Sometimes it might also not be enough to really change the color in the beginning stage of a flare.

My husband & I had a back and forth about those blue pucks but not a fight & not over the colour. It took me awhile to break him of that habit because it wears down the sealing of the toilets. He finally got it when the toilet wasn’t working because of the seal. The plumber backed me up. But it wasn’t a fight.

7:00 so I came across this drama early on, and several of the stitches were people dragging her as a spouse and were placing bets on when they would split up. As a married person in their 20s, if I was given no context, id be counting down days to the split too.
She probably doesn't know this so I doubt this is the issue, but I wouldn't want blue toilet water either because those blocks eat away at the ring inside the toilet and then you'll have to deal with a flooded bathroom. My father is a plumber and HATES them. I've had to listen to the rant more than once. I use cleaners and the scrubbing bubbles toilet gel, but NOT the cistern blocks. And yes I've had a toilet flood the upstairs bathroom from one of those... I didn't listen to him and found out the hard way.
One of those blue toilet tablets was a mega money saver for me. I never used them before but hey why not, had this ring in the toilet that wouldn't scrub out I thought this would help cus the water would always be ''cleaner'' well I walk in the bathroom a hour later and blue everywhere! Turns out the tank had a small leak we hadn't yet noticed, and thankfully this saved us having to replace a whole floor or worse, falling threw to the basement from water rot.

I am quite sure she doesn't realize that the blue tablets are dyed so when it fades, the disinfectant isn't working and needs to be replaced. He didn't color the water just because he likes blue AND since it sounds like he is the only one cleaning the toilet he probably can use the help!
Those things will harm the seals and you will need to deal with fixing it. We dealt with that in our home. Based on how illogical her reaction was I suspect nothing is good enough for her and she has broken him down. Sure marriage can mean giant fights over nothing but going on social media the way she did is very telling.

You’re not supposed to put anything in the tank cause it kinda breaking the seal which means you run up your water bill for the tank continuously running because there’s no sealed to keep it back. Technically putting product in the tank can cause long term damage to the toilet. Destroy internal pipes, slowly break down the seal so the toilet will slowly leak, and dont forget dying the tank/bowl blue.

What’s so funny is that I actually had a conversation with my boyfriend about these blue water tablets a few weeks ago. He got them so that we wouldn’t have to clean the toilet so often but I felt it was a matter of principle, and that we should have the toilets cleaned often whether there are tablets or not. Over the past few months, we’ve had these tablets, and they have made my life so easy for cleaning the toilet that he has converted me to his way of thinking. If anything, it’s taught me to trust him more. So it’s sad that a very similar situation had an opposite effect.
I can’t live like this any more is what our neighbor came and yelled when my brother was screaming derogatory terms, curse words saying he was gunna shoot someone in the middle of the night outside of our house because he was relapsing on alcohol & hard drugs which he did a lot over a few years. This lady has minimal problems

I had a toilet bowl wore in my house at one point in time. My boyfriend bought some of those things that you hang over the rim. Every time you go into your bathroom it's like walking into a public bathroom. I can't stand those things. They stink. I kept taking them off and throwing them away and he would get mad about it.
I'm very particular about smells in my house and he knows that. Those toilet things are one thing that I will hold my ground on.
I was in a moderately similar situation, but it actually had a very good reason. Someone who had never lived with pets before had cleaned our bathrooms and the cleaning service put a toilet dunk in the tank. It was a clear one, but it made the whole bathroom, smell persistently like bleach and Wafted into the hallway. I am an unlucky person in that bleach fumes are both an asthma and migraine trigger for me. In addition, we have cats. We do it good job with mostly remembering to keep the toilet lids closed, but the cats sometimes drink out of the bowl we don’t want them to die. We were frustrated because we had explained the bleach issue and asked that it only be used for cleaning under the litter box and the windows left open and the door shut so it could go out the window and not linger in the house. They just did it on auto pilot, and that’s one of the ones that also is sufficiently caustic it can damage plumbing fittings and rubber inside the tank, so if you don’t have gloves, you shouldn’t touch it or the water it’s in. In fact, the box comes with gloves to put one in the toilet tank. I’m hoping mine is a sufficiently different situation where and I have good and justified reasons for having an issue, it’s not having a clean toilet I object too. In some cases, I actually prefer if the cleaner tints the toilet water so you can tell there’s cleanser in there. It reminds you to make sure the lid is shut. On the other hand, I personally use the color of the water to monitor my health based on my issues with dehydration. That’s a lot harder to do when you are suddenly forced to try determining how green the blue gets when your experience is calibrated to know how yellow the clear gets. As far as I can tell, her only issue is that it’s blue if he’d used a clear dunk, she’d have been fine. I personally find that this level of drama over that is ridiculous as well.

She, by her own description, handled it by tearing him down. Even if she hadn't run to social media with it, that's unacceptable behavior. Don't treat people like that just because you're displeased with them, ESPECIALLY if you claim to love them as I would assume one does with their husband. Also arguments are normal - FIGHTS, where you berate or otherwise get vicious with your partner, that's not normal/healthy. What she did isn't having a disagreement, it's turning against her husband over it because apparently him not reading her mind is an excuse to mistreat him.
I'm not saying this means he should leave, but she's got issues she needs to work out because people don't act like this over something they personally wouldn't do for just one thing. I sincerely hope she's learning someone here because it always starts small but it doesn't stay that way if you normalize it.

I’m neurodivergent and those toilet things that make toilet water blue do really bother me…. I can’t quite explain why but I need toilet water to be clear. Buuuuut she’s definitely is overreacting. And going to TikTok over that is wild. I wouldn’t be mad at my spouse if they did that but I would be like yo I know this is weird but I’m not a fan of this and can we not buy those going forward. The only time chemicals in the toilet constantly would bother me was if I had a dog that got into it (yes you should train your dogs but the risk of a toilet cleaner isn’t worth it.) or if there were young kids in the house cuz kids are dumb and like to play in toilets sometimes.
