      She just said Harlem & Connecticut. The MTA has almost 500 stations in NYC. Almost every couple of blocks. Harlem is huge and is a stretch of 45 blocks in upper Manhattan. I used to live in Harlem and there were 4 subway stations within walking distance of my apartment that could get me around NYC. It would be next to impossible to figure out which station she uses. On top of that, she can't take a train straight from Harlem to Connecticut. She would have to switch trains because the NYC subway system doesn't go up into CT without switching to Metro North trains. So knowing that she's headed to a specific state doesn't help either. Connecticut is a smaller state, but has numerous MTA stops. There would be no way to tell which CT stop she is getting off at by knowing that she started in Harlem.

      @hollyperret Před měsícem

      @@tobybartlett I'm not underestimating anything. Just knowing that someone lives in Harlem doesn't make it possible to determine what train they take to work daily. The vast majority of NYers use the subway system to get around. If just letting people know what area of the city you live in made it possible to identify what subway station you used, no one would ever be able to talk about what part of Manhattan they live in. Knowing that she works somewhere in the state of Connecticut isn't very helpful either. If more identifying information than this is available on the internet, people are going to find it regardless of mentioning what city she lives in or what state she works in. Did you know that just by clicking on your name, I was able to find your website, along with a work phone number and NY address. Do you think I can still identify which train station you take to work with ease, or predict which NYC parking garage you use? If it's so unsafe to share the city you live in or the state you work in, why are you doing it?

Privilege of an "easy" job with bosses who treat you more like coworkers than your actual cohorts bc *everyone knows you're going to be a manager in X years anyway*. Privilege of finding a partner that completely submits to their whims. Privilege of being part of a community that just reacts with "well that's how she's always been" or "well you know not to get on his bad side on a sunday!" Etc. Or? Sometimes simply and sadly enough- they've had so little friends and social interactions for so long that they straight up haven't interacted with enough people enough times for it to stick. So true for so many people! COVID was a tough time for everyone, and many folks don’t have the patience to deal with rude Karens anymore.
      Food service workers (& many customer service workers) make a meager wage. They are constantly degraded & berated by customers because something stupid, like their burger didn’t have pickles. The worker eventually looses their cool & throws a burger at the wall & gets fired or quits.
      People are struggling to support themselves & their families. They’re at their wits end & cannot put up with any more bs! Fudge Karens!

Did she have any physicians bills, either medical or for therapy? Has she suffered any damage to her reputation? IMO she was at least 50% responsible for what happened. If what I saw in the video was correct, the older woman was seated first, then the younger woman boarded the train and sat down. The minute the younger woman realized there was going to be an issue with the older woman and it obviously wasn’t going to be resolved, the younger woman should’ve changed seats. It was mentioned there were plenty of seats available. The younger woman chose to participate in the confrontation, she certainly didn’t avoid it. 2. If the train workers come by, they will absolutely tell you to put your feet down in you have them on the seats. Granted, they don't come by often, but you are not allowed to put your feet on the seats and most NYers who ride the train are are fully aware of that. What she's saying about the MTA police is accurate. They are their own jurisdiction.

    In defense of the younger woman, Yeah she could have moved. The train had space for her to do so. But why should she? Its a public train and she paid to be on said train. She has the right to sit where she would like just like the older woman did. She doesn't have to move to give into what she wanted. Its not weird or strange she sat there, she probably wasn't thinking too much about it because it shouldn't matter.
    When I used to get on public trains, People sat next to me ALL the time. And I dealt with that because they have the right to the seat. I don't fully agree with recording this woman and posting it. But I also don't feel very bad either. She also choose not to move when she was the one who had the issue. And proceeded to be as asshole. If you want to act like a fool in public, I think its fair for people to laugh at you and call you out. At that woman's big age, She knew good well that her response was unnecessary. Honestly she's lucky she didn't do that to someone who would have yanked her ass out of the seat.

      If someone is clearly unhinged and acting like a child, the mature thing to do is remove yourself from the situation to diffuse the conflict. Choosing to antagonise them by filming and yelling is only going to make the situation worse. Sometimes you just need to be the bigger person and pick your battles.

    I've ridden on the NYC MTA trains, it is against the rules to put your feet up on the seats especially when it's crowded. However, sadly, this kind of dismissiveness from the authorities is common, since there are so many other "bigger" crimes for them to deal with.
