From new Supreme Court rulings that are about as politically motivated as can be, to an ineffective government that appears completely broken. Lewis attempts to make sense of it all.

Dear Lewis...Thank you for your rage. I needed to hear it out loud and not solely in my own head. So many Americans are vying for first place on the Insane Fascist Top Ten list that it makes me want to run as far away from North America as I can get. Even though I live in Canada, I fear for us all as these horrors also take hold north of the 49th. We fought in the 60s and 70s for women's rights. We fought for gay marriage. We fought for gun control. We fought for health care. Etc. Etc. Etc. WTF? I am nearly 70 and don't know if I have it in me to do a repeat.

I think a register should be created of all the prolife advocates and then hold them accountable for the abuse of our children that have been unsupported by no fault of their own. Prolifers should be required to adopt a child that has no parents. And that should be the law.

Those people should have to FINANCE the raising of the child by the mother they forced to give birth. They can't be trusted to raise a child.
My Mom got pregnant in the 50s twice before me. My parents could not afford to raise children at the time. Abortions weren't legal back then. She had to climb through someone's window, both times, and have someone use a hanger to be aborted. She almost died because of it. My head explodes when I think that we're going back to that in the 21st century. 😡🤬😠

This was one of the best Rantcasts. The difficult truth is that abortion laws have never stopped abortion- they've stopped safe abortions for those who could not afford the hidden procedure. The horrific stories are embedded in our consciousness. The rich and powerful have always gained access to safe abortion. It is the underclass that always suffers. This is a referendum on class division, just like legislation against voting rights. Religion is the pawn. Generally those worth hundreds of millions are not going to champion the the working class, they're the labor force. Most will almost always vote to protect their ASSets.
Vote for Senators that will vote to eliminate the filibuster and codify abortion rights into law to protect ALL women.
PS. That last rant was pretty cool. 😉 It's the first time we've ever seen the video. So much better actually seeing it performed.

Hey Lewis just wanted to say that I agree with every word you said. I’m a 68 year old man and I can’t believe what this world is coming to. Also I will tell you that I was raised Roman Catholic but I always felt that no one has the right to tell a person what they can or cannot do when it comes to their own body. It’s a shame this whole country is going down the shitter. Thanks for all your thoughts.

Overturning Roe requires another law be passed that ensures men bear equal responsibility for pregnancies. Call it the "personal Responsibility Act." Using DNA as a verification, paternity for every embryo should be established and the male responsible obliged by law to support the woman and the child through the child's majority, including medical costs, living costs, education - all the costs a father normally assumes for his child. In addition, the child should have a full share of the father's estate if and when the father dies. If women cannot decide whether or not carry a child, fathers should not be able to decide whether or not to support the woman and the child. It's about time men assumed responsibility for the consequences of their pleasure.

One of the most terrifying theories I heard after Roe v Wade was overturned was that the local police might start investigating miscarriages, that vindictive neighbors would report women who might have been pregnant, but might no longer be.

The States of Oklahoma and Texas both have had those kinds of considerations in their legislatures for exactly those reasons. Above the 38 states with fetal assault laws already on the books, for miscarrying, particularly if the fetus has any traces of illicit drugs in it's system.

Of the 19 states with banned or severely restricted abortions, 16 rank in the bottom half for education & 7 rank in the highest 10 for maternal mortality. (2019: Louisiana = 58 per 100,000 mothers died; Delaware had 0). Of the 20 states where it's still legal, 12 are lowest for maternal mortality. 12 rank in the upper half for education.
