I just purchased this model with the threaded barrel today. I was about to purchase a G19x optics ready but the guy behind the counter talked me into the S&W. He is a retired highway patrol officer and he said that m&p pistols are superior in every way compared to a glock. I don't know either way but I do like this pistol. I will be getting the Glock at some point, when funds allow.
Just picked up a package with this model that came with two 23 rd mags with it and a bag for $500 from Academy. Two 15 rd, two 23 rd and the option for 17 rd mags is great!
I found that the M&P 2.0 bundle at Academy Sports. It came with an M&P bag, M&P 9mm 2.0, two 15-round, and two 23 round magazine for $474. I got it last week for Christmas.
I am a huge fan of the M&P LINE. That flat faced trigger is fine enough for me. It's a gun for self defense. Looking for this exact firearm with the 3.6" barrel to go with my SHIELD PLUS which I just got 15 round mags for, and my SHIELD 45acp!!! 💪💪💪💪
I just picked up the Shield Plus and still can't get over how good the trigger is on it. Just phenomenal. I'm so glad S&W has started incorporating the new trigger into all their other models!
I noticed the weird reset as well. The reset has a bounce which I've found it is because of the striker block. I confirmed this by putting my Performance Center slide on it which has more of a rounded striker block, vs the flatter striker block. Also deburring the extension and polishing it makes it feel way smoother and less gritty.
Thank you for the video very informative for me, I just purchased the 3.6 version and love it, hope you make more videos in the future with the M&P i have been looking for a video of TLR8 on an M&P but no luck what is your opinion will it fit? God bless...
That is a big question, in your title are the 2.0 and the newer models really different and interchangeable?? I have about 5 2.0 and plan to work on two 4in frames, 2.0s, so I wondering if some of the newer slide will work on the 2.0 frames.
I’m here a year later watching this. Same boat as you mostly a Glock guy had a 1.0 when they first came out just hated the trigger and the first gen grip texture. Saw this flat face trigger and I optic cut and really want to commit. How is it a year later?
Still love this setup! I also picked up the 2.0 metal which I did a review of. I’ve been thinking about a 5 inch as well now that they are coming with the flat faced trigger.
Depends on how moist you run the gun. I have a non LCI barrel on my P365, and it still gets gunked up if I am excessive with the lube. I if I have just cleaned the gun, I throw some tape over the dot, it doesn't stop me from using the dot, and it lets me blow out any extra lube. Realistically, getting stuff on your dot window isn't the end of the world. Id you are target focused you can cover the entire front window and be fine.
Weird how people are still stuck on Glock… Glock Gen 5 is the best pistol they have and the MP9 M2.0 is leaps and bounds better, especially in the trigger department.
The new M&P trigger is garbage (2.0 3.6). The curved trigger is the only striker fired trigger, that feels like a real trigger. The new one has a ton of creep, and does not break cleanly like my older M&P's. Thousands of presentations from the holster, hundreds of hours training with the older trigger with supreme confidence. Now it feels like mushy dog doo, just like all the glocks sitting in my safe. Its too far away, and I cant get proper finger placement on the trigger to consistently break clean shots. Before if you didn't like the trigger you had options, you could buy an apex like all the other sheep do, but for people with medium, or even small hands, you now have no options. To my knowledge nobody make a short reach trigger. To put it in perspective. I trained for 20 years with nothing but glocks. I could never get past a certain plateau in terms of consistency. I got my first M&P, and initially did not like the trigger because it wasn't what i was used to. Once i figured it out, which took all of a few minutes of dry fire, my shooting went to new heights. My confidence went through the roof. I buy the compact to make it easier to carry, and it has a glock trigger in it. Pissed doesn't begin to cover it.
Everyone likes what they like, but I found the flat faced trigger to be a solid option out of the box. Reach is definitely a bit further which might feel weird for you. I’m wondering if yours has something wrong with it though. In my three examples they were all very good (maybe not quite great) triggers.
The reset doesn't need to be audible or tactile. Once the shot breaks you are already off the trigger and getting ready for an acceptable sight picture. Short resets are nice, but you can train yourself to go right to where the reset is before it happens.
@@Osprey1994 you can shoot almost any trigger doesn’t mean they are good. The m&p borders on a good trigger until you get to the reset. Training around the piss poor reset with todays options is not needed. So many better options. Especially if you are looking at a trigger through the lens as a competitive shooter… the reset just sucks and is the most important factor in speed of a trigger.
Other than brand loyalty, I cannot see how anyone would think a Glock is better than an M&P. I used to be a Glock guy, but not anymore.
I’m with you on that.
I'm with you on that.
Kinda married to Glock since I have so many training mags and holsters. But I’m about to buy the 3.6” and carry it and shoot it. I like how it looks.
Why not both? Got a 17 for 9mm and m&p2.0 for 45
I'm with you on that.

Hell Yeah 👍🏾
This was my first gun. I love it!
GREAT REVIEW 😊… helped me decide
Recently purchased the Shield Plus. Love it. Now Ive been lusting after this full-size pistol for home defense.
Same here.
Love mine , holosun 407 k 500 ish rds trigger has smoothed Soft shooting accuracy good Nice video thx
I have an FPC and love it so I had to get the M2.0... Love them both!

Bruh, its 600 now. Was it on sale?
Yes it was.
@@t-manfouche6745 aight, Ill have to lookout for deals then lol
Yes Academy Sports, Rural King, Bud's Guns, and Kygunco I look for deals.

You may want to try the Equalizer, since it shares the Shield Plus mags!

I paid $350 for that gun brand new 2 weeks ago. Same light as you but with a Holosun EPS green.
I own glock's, Walther's and the hellcat brothers. I've been thinking of buying one of these to see how it carries and shoots.
Excellent Presentation thankyou

I wish I knew what you were talking about lol. Do you think you could make a video on doing this? I’d watch it
I'm a glock guy too but I want this gun with that exact set up.

Also, awesome video. Keep it up! You could definitely turn this channel into a part time endeavor.
Can you give a link to that CNH plate that you purchased?

Eager to eatch glock vs m&p i suggest kagwerks slide stop its really awesome for glocks and i like putting a apex shoe on the gen 5 trigger bar .
Where is the compare video I can’t find it.
I have the exact same set up except in FDE
Great post, thank you. Is this is 4.25" barrel?
Yes it is
Good review. Ive shot both Glocks and Smith's....definitely like Smith better

What C&H plate did you end up getting for it? They have a few different ones for the M&P line.
Part number was SWMP-RSH-975
What trigger
When shooting a lot do you notice The optic getting dirty from the witness hole in the slide
Some, yes. Nothing too crazy though.

what is a good holster for this gun with suppressor height sights?
I used a Safariland 6378RDS with no issue.
For what purpose? IWB, AIWB, OWB, duty?
LAG tactical
Where did you purchase your optics from ?
Primary Arms
Do you have an IWB holster if so what is it?
I don’t have one for this pistol, I recommend Tier 1 Concealment though for appendix carry.
Proper trigger press 😆
Sounds like you just need a file for the plastic plate issue. No biggie!!
volume!
Your old pistols weren't Gloptics Ready? What? Oh... they don't change styles, so...
What???
I have one, and I love it. But the side release is too big.
Too big for what? lol
It’s stiff as heck in my opinion the extra real estate is useful

With the exception of the simplicity of a Glock (for detail strip) it’s definitely an outstanding package.

@@jessesoto8887this gun and put an apex trigger if you really want to. It does have a slightly longer reset than others but its not that bad
