Nothing against Glock, but M&P for me. I think everyone should use what they like and what works for them.
I don't think it's good to try to convince anyone which is better. Each one has its merits. Guns, like other things are totally subjective. Sure there are bad quality guns like anything else, but between these to brands and models, I think its subjective.

The new SW trigger/shoe locks it up for me - only took smith 20 years to loose the hinge- lousy thing - smith does not offer the new joint in a compact/optic packaged for a restricted state so I needed up swapping out the hinged stock trigger for the new Timney. Timney absolutely crushed it btw Excellent explanation of a pre-cocked striker -well done. Can’t go wrong with either pistol! My first gun was a Glock 19, Gen 4. Had it for 7 years as a “do all” until I discovered the Walther PPQ while renting at the range.
About 2 years later I have a small collection of compact sized guns including a M&P 2.0 in 10 mm with the flat trigger and optic as an outdoor companion (hiking, camping, hunting).
I’m not a Glock fan at all and for that price point there are so many better options (VP9, PDP, CZP07, 509T - I own them all).
All just as reliable and much better out the box.
The only advantage Glock has is cheaper mags and more aftermarket support but Glock needs more aftermarket options to get them comparable to those others.
I just don’t get the Glock hype 🤷🏽‍♂️

It's so weird how subjective pistol stuff can be. I can shoot glocks okay, and the G34 is probably the flattest shooting pistol I've ever owned. But I just don't jive well with the ergos and trigger no matter what aftermarket stuff and frame cuts and stippling I do. Since the very first time I held an M&P in my hand, it just felt like it melded with me. They point really naturally for me and they just feel like they connect with my hands perfectly. The 2.0 triggers are a lot better but the 1.0 triggers were pretty decent after a break-in.

The only thing I miss about the 1.0 is the slide stop. I don't know if it was intentional or not, but if you slammed a mag in with a little authority it would automatically disengage. Reloads from slide lock were super fast and easy

In all fairness Glock is the grandfather to them all. Pretty much every striker fired pistol made today was reversed engineered from a Glock. I own three, but I havent EDC any of them in years. I recently picked up a MP 10 mm and wooow is all I have to say. It just frustrates me that Glock hasn't made any moves to improve the design and weight. Casing point... I held a Shadow systems in one hand and an identical factory modded Glock in the other and there was a significant difference in weight. Then lets talk about the price. Glock originally was a $350-380 gun in early 2000, but now they're 600. My MP was on sale for $575 and came with a ton of stuff in the box and is perhaps the best crafted handgun (including my expensive FNs) that I own at a decent price.

@@daveh9551 I agree there is a lot of cool stuff out there. I try to buy guns that fit in the same holster or use the same mags. Terr 1 recently came out with there mx series holsters for guns with TLR1 or several other lights but I can use for a couple different guns as long as it has one of those lights. I ended up trading another gun for the Shadow systems. I may get rid of my shadow systems for a arex delta or a pdp. I am kinda at my limit when I go shooting I don’t even take all my guns. I mean how many ARs do I need lol. There’s a couple guns more I like but I kinda get tired to. We just got to remember that the gun industry is that an industry. They always want to sell to you. I met a guy that said he had 50 plus revolvers. I personally don’t have time or the desire to have so many of one gun. I would rather spend on ammo and training. I do believe in having a backup to your carry gun. Mine went down for a few days bad ammo. And I was glade to have another of the same gun again to use in stead of my regular carry gun. Stay strong brother. I always have a couple guns in mind probably going to get a 10 mm for when I am out back packing. But otherwise I will trade something I have for someone else.

I wasn't really a fan of the hinge style triggers on the m&p, but this ones is much better. You can always adjust the sights or change them. Sometimes factory sights can be off are you need to hold more of an aggressive sight picture. I hear ya on the glock though and congrats on winning a g45, definitely a good shooter.

Sounds like you only have experience with Glock because you couldn't be more wrong. I have several different striker fired pistols, Sig M18, Gen 3 Glock 19, M&P 2.0 Compact, Walther PPQ M2, and HK VP9 OR. HK, Sig, and Walther build quality is vastly superior than Glock. Comparing the HK with the Glock, it's like comparing a BMW M3 to a Honda Civic. Everything about the VP9 just exudes quality. There's a reason why the VP9 is $900 while the Glock is $500. As far as the Walther PPQ M2, barrel quality, accuracy, and trigger puts the Glock to shame. I can also make the argument that the build quality of the M&P 2.0 is also superior over the Glock. The frame on the M&P 2.0 is much more rigid and robust with steel inserts, has steel sights and guide rod, and the newer flat face trigger is vastly superior than the Glock.😂

    • @glockknuckle69

I added the bigger back strap to open up my grip a little more so there was a bigger gap to get my support hand in there and make better contact with it. The m&p is more slim than the Glock so it did help. I feel a can draw it quicker and run the gun faster when I have more grip to vice down on. The only complaint I have with the m&p is I wish there was an undercut. The Glock grip isn't too small, I just got so use to shooting Glocks without backstraps that I never started using them on the Gen 4 or 5 Glocks.
