Glock needs to just go ahead and put this trigger in their factory handguns, and move on from their current triggers. " I love my stock Glock trigger" said almost no one that has ever felt a good trigger.
100%.
I like my stock glock trigger as well. And I knew before buying, that I can't expect a really good and smooth trigger...
Their stock triggers are reliable.
People are funny sometimes you get spongey triggers some crispy
Pull the trigger before you buy the one you want
Yesterday at the range I had a guy complement my stock Glock trigger crispy solid click
@@JROCK100ification if Glock installed the new performance trigger in their handguns, it would also be a stock trigger from the factory and I would guess it would be just as reliable.
Johnny Glock also did say that the Timney trigger might not be 100% drop save while the Glock Performance trigger is. He also did explain why.
Hey Sootch, great video as always! I was on the fence with getting the GPT, I bought 2 because of your review. They are easy to install and just took a few minutes. I just got back from the range and there is definitely a difference between the stock and GPT. I’m glad I made the switch, thanks again for a very informative video!
I got mine today and I already shot about 150 rounds out of my stock g19 gen 5 that I bought last week. I spent about half an hour on the stock trigger and felt how it went up on the wall and felt a little mushy but not by much. I installed the performance trigger and don't notice like a huge "wow" difference but I did notice a difference in how the wall feels. It does feel like it breaks right away instead of having any mushy part. The biggest upgrade I got was the extended slide release tat really helps with reloading with just my index finger on the right side. It feels exactly like my AR15 now with the bad lever and 2 stage trigger.
Just bought a G19X, will order the enhanced trigger next month. I like Apex a lot, but great to keep it OEM as much as possible. Thanks for the review Sootch!
I run my GPT on a Glock 45MOS. I installed the Johnny Glock's modified OEM GPT trigger shoe with a set screw added that adjusts the pre-travel. The pull is short as well as the reset, absolutely the best Glock trigger I have ever used out of many over the long haul.
I added these triggers to my 47’s and they are great! Saved 3lbs of pull. Means allot to my old fingers.
Thank you for this I was waiting for your review of Glock performance trigger
Thank you for the detailed and informative review.
I installed this Performance Trigger on my G19X, and what a difference. I can put the attached laser on an object, get to the wall and then a crisp break. The movement is so minimal it’s amazing. Reliability, durability, and performance at this price point makes the G19X an all around perfect firearm… for me anyway.
Gonna do the same cause the 19x came with a horrible trigger, not even my 43x came with a trigger like that
The trigger is god awful. My fiancées m&p 2.0 is crispy and almost had me trading it in for a new one
But I’ll try the trigger out
@@jonathanfigueroa132 love the m&p triggers but glock triggers tend to get better at 1.5k rounds, my 43x has a crispy trigger
@jonathanfigueroa132 I have many glocks I love them. I'll tell you though my m&p 2.0 compact feels so much better than my glocks. That's just my experience and opinion though.
@@permanentlygrounded7770 m&p’s feel way better. But I’ll tell you what after installing my Glock Performance Trigger into my 19x I am glad to say I love the thing even more now. I shot my fiancées 2.0 last week and the new trigger on the Glock is smoother than the 2.0.
I put one of these on my carry G34. I switched the stock shoe for the Apex flat flace shoe. And also added an 8lb "+" connector. Best duty grade striker trigger I've ever felt.
Just remember, you can't upgrade your way to mastering the fundamentals. No matter the gun or trigger, the primary limiting factor in a guns speed and accuracy is the person pulling the trigger.
Sure, when I pull the stock trigger on my glock slowly, I notice all the imperfections people complain about, but when I'm actually at the range shooting, I notice ZERO of those imperfections. If you are unfortunate enough to need your gun to defend your self or another, you will not notice the trigger pull, and if you haven't already mastered the fundamentals, then a trigger upgrade isn't going to matter.
And if you are in a self defense situation, you won't be shooting to reset. You will be so jacked-up, reset and light trigger action won't be your main concern; saving your life will be #1. When I shoot my stock G19, I practice more caombat shooting, and not 1 inch groups shooting to reset.
Thanks Captain Obvious
Jeeze, I thought we were talking triggers. My EDC is a Sig P938 and my full sized open carry is a 1911 converted to 460 Rowland ( In the woods mostly). And finally, my mid size concealed carry is a HK P90 with the LEM trigger. This lineup hasn’t changed in over a decade except the Rowland conversion. I get it, fundamentals and in reality you better not shoot anyone from an appreciable distance or you’re going to prison. So the fact that I’m able to hit an 18 inch plate from 100 yds with a 2011 or Shadow 2 isn’t going to be relevant in a likely self defense situation and a light trigger is a liability when you have a 190 bpm heartbeat and someone is shooting at you. Thus the significant rd count and holster wear on the above choices.
Huh? You mean that if I ever have to use it in self defense I cant ask my attacker what grain and brand hollow point I should use? You mean I cant measure my trigger pull before he attacks me? I cant take out a gelatin block to test penetration before everything? Well, _im_ disappointed
I agree. When doing fast draw shootings I never notice how gritty it is.
love this trigger in my G23 gen 5 with vex shoe it’s the best trigger i’ve have had no doubt
Excellent review
Recently installed it.. love it!
I tried one in a T/E gun. It’s nothing to get excited about. I’m fine with a stock Glock trigger it’s a fine combat trigger. It works.
I recently bought a trigger for my G4 19 from your friend Robbie Wheaton and couldn't be happier about the trigger and his advice.
Great video on this new trigger. I agree I like shooting Fiocchi too. Never had a problem with it.
Yes Sir ! Best video and explanations like always 👏
I’m glad you did a video on this, I’ve been thinking about getting it for my 19x but have been undecided.
Same
Cool new trigger love to have one on my glock thanks for sharing sootch00
Thank you for the clear closeups so I could get mine back together after i switched the flat face trigger shoe with my stock Glock trigger shoe, all the other youtube videos purporting to show how to disassemble and reassemble the GPT trigger are 15 foot shots, blurry and/or dark and one youtuber even hs the balls to claim that "plolishing" (snake oil BS) a stock trigger and putting in a minus connector is as good or better than the GPT.
Sootch00, like always, great informative video. I EDC a G19X, one of the first things I did was switch the trigger for an Apex trigger.Even though I’m happy to see Glock doing improvements and bringing us new products, I think they have gotten complacent over the years. I spent well over 1,500$ on modifications for my G19X (milled slide, stippling, threaded barrel etc) when other companies are selling their products out of the box with many modifications. Again, I commend Glock for doing improvements but I’m sure they can do much more without passing the cost to the consumer.
Great video. Thank you.
I put the GPT in my Gen5 G34. Best trigger I have installed in a Glock thus far and best bang for the buck. I ididn't like the trigger shoe it came with so I changed the shoe to the Johnny Glock VEX Shoe Upgrade. At this point in time I can't see getting a better trigger for a Glock.
Just put one on my 19.5! It is an awesome trigger! Great review sootch
Glock trigger break clean. Sigs have spongy triggers from the break to the reset
I put one in my 19X and it’s a big improvement and I like that it’s still all Glock parts.
Gonna have to get one for mine.
@@MarineA109 you should! I enjoy it.
Reliable enough for an EDC?
Highly recommend this. Got mine on my 19 and love it. As mentioned, don't take it apart.
I wish Glock would be clear on whether or not their performance trigger is geared for carry/duty use or more “competition” or other means. This could be something brought up in court in a self defense case, so the more clear Glock gets the better it will be for the end user.
Where is one court case where this has ever been brought up?
It is labeled on the packaging itself that the trigger is not intended for law enforcement use.
@@TheBjornLegacythat’s for incase they get sued.
The packaging says " Trigger Pull Weight ~ 4 lbs. Does not meet NIJ Standard for LE use." That seems pretty clear. NIJ standard is between 4.5 - 8 lbs.
Good to see Glock offering this.
Thanks for the good review. I am glad its not like a competition trigger. I would want one for carry. I hope this becomes the new stock trigger or an option to get it in a new Glock. They should have included it in that newer Glock 47 so people felt like they were getting a better deal.
Replaced all my Glock triggers with McNally triggers (adjustable). Glad I did!
I think it’s so weird they launched this alongside the 20&21, but you can use it in them
I need a trigger for the G29 don’t know what to go with
Great video.
Hey, I gotta tell you, a little off topic...you introduced me a year ago to the olight flashlight series...since then I have 3....im in Law Enforcement, on Graveyard shift...I religiously use my Olight warrior mini 2...I accidentally left it in my uniform pants and I put them in the washing machine... And as you know in today's world of electronics everything dies when it gets wet... But not that light... It still works as good as new not. Just wanted to tell you I have no regrets and thank you for the always good advice
I put the new trigger in my 47 and I really like it, I think it is definitely an upgrade!
I installed a Glockstore enhanced performance trigger into one of my daggers. It is a great trigger and makes a world of difference in shooting that gun. I may get one for my G4 G17 now.
I purchased a g47 earlier this year and have no complaints about the trigger. Most accurate handgun I have shot. I have shot a variety of s&w and berettas, and it hasn’t been even close.
I do have the 20% discount for registering my glock. I may use it on this.
I wish they made for the Glock 21. I have one for my model Glock 45 9mm. It made a huge difference in my shooting and groups. Absolutely fantastic!
I have a G45 on layaway. I'll be sure to try this trigger in it once I get it. Great video like usual, sootch! I hope You are well.
I just put one of these in my G45... with some nice night sights.... thing shoots great.
Same. Just waiting on the Radian Ramjet + Afterburner microcompensator now.
Thanks!
You holding the gun up that long reminded me of Ricky Bobby. "I don't know where to put my hands when I'm talking." 😄
Ok, I am buying one thanks to this review. Best regards from Sweden!
way this trigger works reminds me of how original Colt 1911 GoldNational Match with Sear Depressor & Spring set up
I trust Johnny Glock products over OEM and I just purchased his Vex shoe OEM Glock trigger performance upgrade kit. Thank you Sootch
I put a Timney in my G45 because I have them in other Glocks, but it didn't perform and I had light strikes and a rather weird feel. However, I had a new Glockstore Pyramid gen 5 trigger sitting around, and it works great- very much like this new Performance trigger. If I hadn't already had the Pyramid, I'd definitely get the Glock factory Performance trigger (for half the price).
Me too G45 and light strikes i wonder why
God bless you for these videos.
Ciao!
At 12:18 when you pull the slide back 1/8 of an inch (.32 cm) you will hear a 'click', that's when you can disengage the slide. You can hear it here.
That new trigger is nice but replacing the Connector is not easy . Original glock trigger with Johny glock vex trigger shoe is sweet .
It would be nice if they would go ahead and make one for the G20 , G21 😢
10mm boys left out. pain....
10mm for sure
Just threw one of these in my Gen 5 G19 and wow, what a difference.
You should do a review on the Holosun 509T with the primary arms ACSS reticle. IT’S GREAT!!! It’s easy to put the trigger back together if you use the Glock punch as a “slave” to help ld the spring back while sliding the trigger bar in place.
When I got my G17, I immediately installed a TImney Trigger, then switched to the Apex Trigger. When I practice, I like hitting the 10 Pt area. A smoother, a bit lighter "trigger pull" assists me in shooting accurately. Self Defense, yes, I would like to be able to shoot accurately as possible.
I like my timneys
@@juniorlewalski4393 My Timney had a really light trigger pull, I did a double tap when I meant to single tap. I went Oh Sh*t!
@@ldaniel5915 lmao!!!! The first time I shot mine I was pretty amazed and scared myself too. Don't feel bad!
Recently installed in my gen 5 19
I've said it before, you'll never notice it in a gunfight. However, Glock knew there was great room for improvement. And answered the call. SIG's trigger is phenomenal inspite of their reliability issues and pistol weight. Glock ROCKS
So thoughts on the double diamond connector? Is it worth it? Also whats the difference in the performance trigger and the pyramid trigger? Great video man! I subscribed!
Changing the shoe really makes a huge difference. You can use a stock shoe or if you don’t mind spending a few bucks, Johnny Glock makes some great shoes for this trigger.
Mushy - spongy stock trigger is THE reason I want to get GPT. But then I hear that with time, the more you use it stock trigger becomes better, less mushy -spongy. Which makes sense.
Is it true that GPT needs to be lubed every thousand or 1.5K shots? Or that it gets dirty after few thousand rounds and starts to gum up, not reset ? If so I'm keeping my polished stock trigger with 3.5lb connector.
I watched Lenny at the Glock store install the Double Diamond 3.5 lb. trigger connector link (only) with All stock springs making it a 4.5lb. trigger, slightly less take up, CRISP CLEAN BRAKE and slightly quicker reset. Very smooth all the way through. What an improvement, more accurate, faster follow up, I'm very happy with it . G-45 , G-43x . I wanted to keep them as stock as possible, the DD connector was the answer, best $25 improvement you'll make on the gen 5 original assembly. Thanks Don
The complete pyramid trigger is awesome. I put it In my 30s it's a game changer.
I have the Ghost Tactical 5.0 connector. It requires fitting but is very easy with a Dremel tool. The fitting is required to minimize the over-travel, which will in turn render a short reset. It makes a huge difference. Like you, I think it's the best $25 I've spent. I've shot other G19's with after market triggers and I prefer mine. It's a no brainer.
DD 3.5 connector and Overwatch Precision shoe on all my glocks, works great…….this trigger seems to have the striker at full tension, while in battery….may be a better break and overall feel…..might give one a try for 99 bucks.
It takes down easier if you pull the trigger as you remove the slide.
Glock store makes a piece for around $8 to help reassemble the new Glock trigger when you take it apart. Little orange piece that holds the spring I think. A lot of people having. The same problem. Watch a few of the videos and the Glock guy will tell what that piece is called.
I use Johnny Glocks triggers in my Glocks and it's freaking amazing around 3.5 lbs crispy break. Johnny is the master at Glock triggers.
I am considering getting one, I believe there is a Gen 4 version too now with a different backplate. Correct me if I am wrong. The one thing I don't like is the trigger going forward after being pulled. Not used to that and it's one of the things I like about Glocks. You can tell the trigger has been pulled on a Glock just by looking at it.
Glock Performance Trigger with Johnny Glocks Vex trigger shoe & "Enhanced Performance" Glock plus connector is what I plan to swap in on an EDC G19.5...
This trigger was better for my 19 MOS, but not exceptional. I just picked up a Johnny Glock combat trigger for my 43x and it is outstanding.
You clearly get what you pay for and I’m worth the extra money. Johnny G I’ll be ordering more triggers, thank you.
Johnny Glock gives away all of his trade secrets in his CZcams videos...I did his complete polish and edge-break job with a dremel and polishing compound on my 43X MOS on an Overwatch Precision flat face drop in...along with a GhostInc connector...Night and day difference now and actually as good as my Sig that I had a trigger job done. And literally takes like 15 minutes to do if you follow his great instructions.
All my handguns (Glock and Walther) have after purchase triggers. Walther's Dynamic Trigger is a very solid improvement over its already very good trigger. For my Glocks, I've bought GlockStore and Johnny Glocks triggers. I've never had issues with my Johnny Combat triggers but my GS triggers especially one in particular I've had both failure to feed and eject. After having either issue at the range, I'll replace that trigger with the original and have no issues for many magazines. But I'm about as forgiving on that trigger as JC himself and I'll put it back into the Glock. But the cycle won't repeat itself bc I'm just going to buy a Glock Performance Trigger.
Thanks for another great review!!!
When your trying to keep you endorsements
If you are concerned the pull weight being too light (especially for carry) then put a 6lb striker spring in it. It should bring it up about .5-.75 lbs.
A heavier striker spring doesn’t really affect this trigger, because the striker is already being held in the rear position when it’s cocked. I was using a lighter striker spring, but when I put the performance trigger in I put in a 6 pound spring just to ensure reliability of setting off primers and it didn’t really make a difference.
@@jdk_360 fair point. I guess I was thinking in terms of the OEM trigger and wasn’t accounting for the change in geometry (ie pre-cocked striker). Did you happen to test it before and after? It didn’t even gain 1/4 a lb?
@@jdk_360 I take it you like the performance trigger?
OUTSTANDING!
My agency has definitely been worthy of purchasing.
I really like my all Lonewolf trigger!
Sootch👍, excellent explanation with excellent camera close ups of the Glock Performance Trigger for Gen5 Glocks.
Timney is an independent, not Glock factory engineering. Always go with the factory performance parts for development and reliability when available. Independents try hard to make money on fads and emotion. Factory is best. Armourer Johnny Glock is the exception. He's top shelf 👍
Rest in Peace
Gaston Glock 🇦🇹 🥀
We wouldn't be here if there was no Glock.
G17L Gen3 9mm 6.02"

For $30 bucks you can get “black yikes connector” for your Glock that gets the trigger pull down to 4lbs with the stock trigger so there’s no issue installing it in your self defense guns
Sad that glock has never made a model with double strike capability like taurus and canik.
A glock with a D/S hammer and id be in
Does this trigger come with a set of real sights.
No but if you want metal sights Glocks can be ordered with them mine came with ameriglo agents . If you buy a Glock with plastic sights than you chose to do so .
I can't imagine this is going to be better out of the box than the Overwatch Precision drop in with a complete polish job on the trigger bar radius, metal on metal face, and the cruciform surface, and then breaking the edge off and polishing the bottom edge of the trigger bar radius and the underside of the cruciform kick-up. Takes all of the springy/crunchy feel out and makes is smooth as glass with about a 4-4.5 lb pull. With that nice OP flat trigger with the index hook at the bottom...perfect for EDC.
It seems like the Glock performance trigger is quite a bit cheaper than the Overwatch or Timney triggers, at least here in Europe.
It's also the only option if you want to shoot IPSC production because you're not allowed to use 3rd party triggers in that division. OEM replacements are fine though.
@@maximilianmustermann5763 Do they have a Glock performance trigger yet for the slimline models...or one in the works? I got an Overwatch for mine that is built on an OEM trigger bar so it is about as close as I can get but I'd like to stay totally OEM if I could.
@@90whatever I don't know, sorry. I just ordered my first Glock (model 45) and have only had a CZ and a Walther 9mm before.
So, I am not really a Glock guy, I was just researching trigger replacements for the 45, that I don't even have yet.
If I had to get rid of all my guns except for 2 I'd go with my Glock 17 and my Ruger PCC that I switched over to use Glock mags. I've had every version of Glock 17 since 1992. I love deep mountain camping and that combo saves space and weight and has served me extremely well for years. Had my backpack rigged out for the PCC that can separate. I know people will tell me there are better pistols and PCCs but honestly if the system isn't broke I'm not going to waste my money changing it up.
I'm not a Glockhead. I have H&K, CZ, Canik, Springfield, Sig, Taurus .22, and Walther pistols and absolutely love all of them for different reasons like I love all 7 of my boys. Each are uniquely great in different ways. However, I have never in in my life ever even held a Glock 19, no idea why. Yesterday I had to get my lawnmower blades sharpened at the D&B Supply so while I was waiting I talked to the good ole boy who works the gun counter. Long story a bit longer, I was messing around with the latest Glock 19 and is fantastic. Don't know if it had the performance trigger or not but whatever they did on this particular pistol I'm a huge fan. Glock will never go away. Every new pistol is a "Glock Killer" but Glock just keeps doing what it does putting tons of pistols in tons of people's hands.
I put the Taran Tactical grandmaster connector kit and Apex tactical Trigger kit in my Glock.
Or .... You could buy a Walther PDP. Just saying.
Pay more money for garbage???
I love the stock trigger on my glocks, never noticed or had any problems with sponginess. If I did I'd use something else, that's why I sold my original Shield 9mm
I also love Glock stock triggers, perfect for self-defense. They aren't meant to be target grade triggers; they are great at what their supposed to be.
You must only own stiker fires. Compared to hammer fires they feel like dog crap
@@user-qo3yy9nv1u You must not have shot many guns, the Glock trigger feels fine to me. None of your business what I own comrade.
@@user-qo3yy9nv1u I agree with is. People make me laugh when they say this other striker fired trigger is so much better than a stock Glock trigger. All striker triggers are not as good as my 1911's or my Sig P229 with SRT. The Glock stock trigger is good for what it is, not a target competition trigger, but a self-defense trigger.
@@sqlb3rn I own and have shot countless guns. Glock triggers are awful. If they weren't this video wouldn't exist. You can't tell me a glock trigger is anywhere as good as hell even a beretta 92FS let alone a 1911. Striker fire triggers suck compared to hammers and glock triggers are just awful although ill neber get rid of my G40
Wonder if they'll make a LE version of this trigger, with the extra half pound of pull weight to required to meet the 4.5lb minimum pull weight requirement un NIJ's Baseline Specifications for Law Enforcement Service Pistols
Do they make those triggers for the glock 48?
Looks good.
I had one in a Glock 45. It would fail to reset once it got a 100ish rounds in it. Cleaning helped. But came right back. The rubbing on the frame and magazine is just to much for the weak spring to overcome. I polished everything. Cleaned up burrs it still did it . Complete garbage.
The best trigger for the Glock 21 and mag release
Hows it compare to the xdm meta trigger?
Has this channel ever had sponsor / product that was not liked with an honest review ! ?
This channel is bought and paid for ! ?
Is nobody noticing that Glock just turned their pistols single action with that trigger ??!! That’s a BIG change cause the safe action trigger was one of the main inventions of the Glock
That's what I was thinking. So this is a fully cocked striker instead of partially cocked?
@@epps1217 Yes, because the sear does no more horizontal movement, just the vertical movement and so the sear is not able to do any cocking of the striker. The sear now just holds and then releases the striker which is considered single action
I was scrolling thru the comments looking to see if anyone else picked up on this b4 I posted it. As an armorer trained on Gen 4's I say YES it is single action now. YOURE RIGHT!! THIS IS HUGE!!
@@finn4928 so it's like my p365. Really don't want it pointing at my junk, but would be fantastic in a range gun.
@@epps1217 I think if the firing pin is partially or fully cocked is not that important for safety because todays firing pin safeties are very reliable and the gun won’t fire until you pull the trigger. For safety all that matters is probably just the trigger weight and you could make a single action trigger with a nice break but still being over like 5 pounds and then I think it’s fine for safety. However on the p365 one thing to consider is that it also does not have a trigger safety.
In my most humble and ignorant opinion, I love my Glocks stock! Perfection out of the box.
Gen 5 stock trigger is very usable, reliable. I'll wait and see if new trigger starts having malfunctions.
Its been out for months
I'm looking at purchasing the performance trigger for my gen5 glock 17. Has anyone changed out the factory shoe? I'm looking at the overwatch precision polydat shoe for the performance trigger.
Question for you Sootch00 or anyone who understands. If I buy a Gun site G45 combat pistol which has a Gen 5 trigger and a minus one connector, can the minus connector be used with the Glock Performance Trigger or does the Performance Trigger have something different or better than a minus connector?
After 700 rounds I went back to the stock trigger and didn't notice any difference. The stock trigger seems to have smooth out on its own.
About time
Will this work on a gen 3 or 4?
I have a tendency to pull the trigger with a sideways motion which can bind some Glock triggers and feels bad. How is it with this one?
Can anyone tell me if this enhanced trigger is compatible with the 43X in MOS? The Glock Shop doesn’t list this particular gun as being compatible.
The OEM Factory aspect of this trigger is a win in my book.
You wrote a book?
I've read your book. Excellent literature.
Fantastic book!
Did you mention in your book how ridiculous it is that you have to immediately replace the shitty plastic sights and trigger on your “Perfection”?
@poconofrank9476 that's why this is a win. Maybe we'll start getting aftermarket supremacy from the factory finally. (Don't hold your breathe though)
Awesome 😎
