We've lived in east Texas (1 hr north of Houston 🥵) the humidity is crazy. We're better in western KY (Paducah area) - as a former Californian (before Texas) I prefer the cleaner air & 4 definite seasons (instead of blah & wildfire seasons). Bugs, fried foods,... no problem for me. When you've got bourbon, BBQ & beautiful waters- nothing can beat it ❤❤❤❤

My wife and I lived in Wyoming for over 20yrs. I think we had more dirt roads than paved ones. I'll take the winters here in Barren County Kentucky, over the long winters in Wyoming where we could get feet of snow in one snowstorm, and temps down to minus -30 degrees F or colder.

I live in Michigan and our humidity gets pretty intense. 80% is pretty much normal for the summer months. Probably because we have lakes all around us.

My sweetie and I moved to Western Kentucky from the suburbs of Denver in November of 21. The historic tornado of December 10th, that leveled Mayfield passed 4000 ft to the South of the house we were staying at in Draffenville. That was our welcome to Kentucky. We finally found and purchased a suitable home on some acreage in Crittenden County. Now for my observations having lived here for two and a half years. I am firmly convinced that if it can be found in the encyclopedia of entomology, it resides on my 12 acres! Yes, the humidity is off the charts! In Colorado, your dishes would dry in the rack in five minutes. Here, more like five days!! The roads...why can't these people stay in their own @#%*ing lane!? I ride a motorcycle. Bikers, beware! Expect a car coming at you in your lane on a blind corner. Oh...I almost forgot. From the middle of March to the first of November your grass will grow an inch a day. If you love mowing, come to Kentucky! To be fair, there are some positives. The people here are extremely friendly. They'll even wave at you as they pass you (in your lane). The scenery is spectacular in the spring through the fall. Deer hunting is probably the best of anywhere in the country. The best thing of all about Kentucky is it's a RED state and because of that, I will never miss Colorado!

We have been looking at homes in KY and have noticed that everyone smokes. It seemed like everyplace we went they were smoking, it's a huge down side for us. We normally eat out everyday, we stopped and only ate in our hotel room before we hunted for homes each day.

Curvy, winding, hilly? You forgot narrow. It's OK for me because I grew up in the mountains of California so I'm used to it. What is a biggie is the idiots driving Kentucky mountain roads way too fast, and tailgating even in the rain or snow! Oh and let's not forget the ditches on each side of the roads that I've seen plenty of cars wind up in. And how about the literal thousands of dead animals strewn across these curvy, winding, hilly, narrow roads.
County fairs? The San Diego County Fair in Southern California has fried everything too! How about some deep fried butter? Yup, they have it but no thanks! LOL!

And surviving random gunfire as people think it’s totally ok to target shoot anywhere there’s a field or a stand if trees. Another reason is the exceedingly horrible schools in the rural areas. The high rates of chronic disease especially diabetes, heart disease and lung disease. Hmmm let’s see. Now there is no democratic representation in the central time zone so live it up a red state “paradise”. I was born and raised there and left. Best choice I ever made. Love the beautiful state but hate definitely takes that shine off.
