I don't see how that is even legal. They should be fined or in jail.
That would require Amazon employees to do their job.
@@ardoin_337Amazon can ban them, that would be doing their job. But these shitty liar knockoff companies are all in China and other places that dgaf.
So best case scenario Amazon and US authorities end up playing whack-a-mole as these random companies just change their name and make a new seller profile.
Yeah it’d probably wind up being a similar situation we saw with the Batman detectors.
When buying from Amazon, I look to see if it says SOLD and SHIPS by Amazon. Amazon being the seller, returns are more seamless. The exception is if it is sold by a reputable company or the manufacturer and not random Chinese companies.
These are no different than the "million lumen" flashlights on Amazon, which test out around 1200 lumens, max.
Can't wait for the 24k dash cam coming out before Christmas😅
Just like all the gazillion lumen flashlights for 30 bucks 😂
lol
At 9:42: "more megapickles".
You must have been picking up someone from the airport. Nobody drives through an airport for fun. LOL.
I'm PIXELRIIIIIIIIICK.
I replayed Megapickles 3 or 4 times before coming to the comments lmao.
Quickest sign the 8k dash cam was fake: price. At $99 there's just no way its real 8k video performance, as already stated with Sony Starvis sensor pricing. Again, the most thorough of review channel on CZcams. Thank you.
3:46 DUDE ALMOST CAUSE A ACCIDENT
exactly why you need a camera
Nice heads up on the imposter 8k Dash Camera. Thanks for sharing.
Nice insight!!! I re-reviewed my Blackvue 4K coverage to see how clearly it was capturing the environment
Great video Ariel on informing folks of the dangers and pitfalls of false advertising 😊
Love them megapickles!!
Thank you for all your hard work, saving us from misleading advertising and wasting our money on false advertising.
I honestly liked this type of video and comparisons on dash cams
Amazing stuff. Proving yourself as an expert when you compare it with an actual 8K dash cam
Thanks for sharing with us ! Another very interesting and useful content! You did a great job!
Cheers
Speaking of fake resolution... Could you please review the FitCamX camera (doesn't matter what car-specific mount you will choose, they all have same camera hardware)? I know you mentioned this brand before in your other videos, but you never reviewed it personally. On their official website they claim their cams have "4k UHD resolution", but literally every sample I've seen on CZcams looks like a low-detailed mess. Not to mention lack of HDR (to be fair they don't claim that they have this) and very inaccurate colors. Would really like to see a proper, unbiased comparison to something like various current Viofo models with Starvis 2 sensor.
My father bought a new TV a year ago, cutting-edge. Newest of the new. 8K 88 inch OLED. $30,000. Didn’t know they even made them so big and powerful.
My Canon R5 shoots 8K photos, but maxes at 4K videos. It is also one of the best most expensive cameras on the market.
The above is for anyone who would like to reference 8K as far as where we’re at societally with rolling it out into mainstream products. We are still very far from seeing it in common high-end technologies. Give it a decade.
Thanks for the video Vortex. Appreciate it.
It won’t take a decade. Prob more like ~2 to ~4 years.
@@HansFelsh Research shows significant improvements in the human eye’s ability to recognize better image quality up to 4K. After 4K, it’s extremely slim. 8K would require not only unreasonably large file sizes, but bring about little benefit unless you’re in a professional field or own a movie theatre. Realistically, I’d put it at a decade. We can agree to disagree though.
Vortex, quick question:
So I’ve already narrowed down to the uniden r8 and escort redline.
My car already has WiFi and the built in speed sign recognition feature.
Is it worth it to just grab the redline and wait for escort to fix their cloud issues? Or just use the redline without the cloud services?
Or should I just get the uniden r8 instead?
Thanks in advance!
Cloud stuff is nice, but IMO it’s very much secondary. Waze is better and free.
excellent investigation.
Can you please review the FitCamX line of cameras, I would love to buy one since it would custom fit my truck but I dont know what image processor it has and how it compares to other leading cameras.
I've covered them twice before.
The first time here: czcams.com/video/vKqPGaRpfkQ/video.html
and the second more recently here: czcams.com/users/live9UxdOks0Ues
I’ve been looking for a good dashcam. That Viofo A229 Pro seems to fit the bill, thanks!
Great video. I like you focused on car license plates legibility.
The first signal about the fake 8K camera should be there size of the lens. Look so small are the lens on the fake 8K and compare them with the other cameras even they are lower resolution.
Being just 25fps and not 30fps I expect the image sensor to not be even a Sony one. At the best it could be IMX335, but judging from the overall colors that is not a Sony CMOS.
You know what? You could be totally right. Based on the video quality, it may also not even be a 2K sensor up front either for all we know.
Thank you for sharing the revealing video! These counterfeit products are undermining the market presence of reputable manufacturers who prioritize quality. Unaware consumers are unknowingly purchasing inferior products.
Hello vortex radar, do you have Whistler radar detector guides? Thanks
Nope
long time thx for all your efforts, ??? do you review a review Mirror with built in front and rear cams??? thx dan
Haha I just unboxed one today. It’ll take a little while to fully test and review it, but it’s in the works
Hi very nice videos if the all dash cam 📷 can you review botslab dash cam 📷 which it just came out the model number is botslab g980h is this any good please let us know thanks
Never heard of that brand
And people automatically think, "well, more Ks must be more better!"
For chuckles you should cut it open and see what image sensor it uses. Probably not a Sony at all. Don't forget to leave your own 1-star review!
I left a 1 star review and Amazon rejected it… 🤷
9:42 mega pickles
What a great dash cam for a motorcycle
Sweatshop cameras. The best of the best.
It's like the fake is using Tesla HW3 cameras, even with the redish color.
Two things. First, I hope you gave it a bad/honest review. Second, I wonder how many fake reviews it has to receive a 4.2 rating out of 5. And for $70, people should know this was a scam.
I left a review, but Amazon rejected it.
FPS is a big factor
Nice review. Perhaps its being marketed by Rocky Mountain Radar 😂. Buyer Beware!!
Really

5:27 Those defrost lines are visible in both rear cameras, but it's probably not great that the fake is focused on them.
Fantastic PSA.
5:31 "weird lines across the frame"
You mean the rear defroster?
Nope. It’s easier to see in the clip afterward. Like a bad cable connection or something with lines of the image not rendering cleanly for each frame.
@@VortexRadar It's *really* subtle after youtube encoding, but I see what you're talking about.
Yeah part of the reason I often do freeze frames is to make it easier to see details like that, including reducing the impact of compression. Sometimes I feel like I’m getting nitpicky when I do freeze frames and zoom ins and arrows, lol, yet I often regret when I don’t spend the extra time to highlight and point out what I’m referring to because it can be easy to miss for various reasons.
Not that I want to make any excuse for this garbage, the lines the rear camera sees are the demister wires on the glass.
I think I didn’t explain it well enough hen because you’re not the first person to say that. I’m not talking about the defroster lines. You’ll need to look closer, especially on a larger computer screen. It may be easier to notice on the split screen comparison. On a phone it’s harder to notice. The lines last for maybe a frame, and they come and go all over the frame. The defroster lines are fixed and have nothing to do with the camera, you’re right.
