    In this video, I take a VERY in-depth look at the new micro-sized 25lb Heomaito HMT1400i Inverter Generator (Senci is the CM). This is a long video with a lot of content on this new model generator from a new company. Hang in if you are interested in purchasing. This is a micro, ultra-lite class generator able to produce over 1100W. A total win for your Travel Trailer, RV or general camping / boondocking needs. A smart choice for power station recharging when there is little to no sun / solar, or RV / Travel trailer recharging. It will handle anything you would or could want in a generator in this output class.

    This was such an excellent video! I even let the ads run for a little while so you could make a few extra bucks on it.
    I just received this generator yesterday and am doing my break-in period right now. I am a single woman living very remotely in the jungle. I have two 800W solar generators that are starting to fail. I bought this so I can rotate all three of them, especially when it's cloudy and charging the solar generators becomes more cumbersome than it is worth.
    One 800W solar generator runs my refrigerator, a fan, and charges my electronics, so I knew this generator would be sufficient for my needs. The only things I can't run are my washer/dryer combo, and my toaster oven. I have gas alternatives to cook, and I can always wash clothes by hand if I'm without electricity long enough to go through all my clothes.
    I feel very grateful I found this little generator before the upcoming storm season. As my solar generators are not lasting as long as previous years, this will be perfect to combine all of them and never be without some kind of power. Thank you for such a detailed video about this.

      @@MR_Garage I do have one question, if you wouldn't mind replying. I ran it for two hours at turtle mode and 2.5 hours at normal mode. In the final half-hour, I connected my phone charger and a small fan just to put a small load on it. I just changed the oil after that run time, and it looked good.
      I bought 10W-30 as per the directions. You used 15W-40. I live in the tropics. It is hot, humid beyond belief, sunny, and fierce. I don't understand oil weights or why to use one over another. I tend to think 15W-40 is better given this extreme climate. What are your thoughts? We generally have 30-33 degrees C and 95-98% humidity.

      Hello,
      I specifically use 15w40 Rotella as it is actually made for diesels and uses a really good detergent and additive package. Also has good ZDDP (zinc) and really is a good choice for small engines. 10w30 will do you just fine if it is a quality oil. 33C is not so hot! 46C at my house yesterday and will be on the way to 48C soon!!! I know it feels hot per humidity but you are fine with that choice of 10w30.
      Just make sure you stick to a good change schedule and you will be fine. And, make sure to run a magnetic dipstick in these little generators.

    27.6 LBS, NOT 25.3 LBS
    My HMT1400i arrived a few days ago and I’m mostly pleased with it. I’m surprised the little guy can shoulder my 8 amp leaf blower and 9 amp vacuum.
    It’s not 25.3 lbs as advertised instead weighing in at 27.6 lbs net (no oil, no gas). The 27.6 lbs is stated on the box, in the included product manual, and checked on a scale. Their website, posted product manual, and ad copy shows 25.3 lbs. This is a substantial difference.
    Also, both fasters on the exhaust side that secure the rubber feet to bottom were overtightened cracking the recesses that capture the nuts. Not an issue justifying return as I can easily add a washer and a nyloc nut to each if needed.
    I live in the strange land of California so the unit has a label with the required (and derided) Proposition 65 cancer warning to allow its sale in the state. The unit also has a separate label stating “Not for sale in California”. 🙄

      @MR_Garage  Před 4 měsíci

      Indeed! Drug out my calibrated scale and I found mine to be 27lb 6oz with no fuel or oil. Edited the title and video thumbnail! Never an intention to mislead, but YES - More portly than Heomaito advertised! (still soooo lightweight)

      Hi!
      Very glad that you took the initiative to weigh the product after receiving it; we need conscientious customers like you to share the accurate information about our products!
      We will check for any errors on the page to ensure that we present the most accurate data to everyone!
      Additionally, we'd like to mention that our products are indeed available for sale in California. The restriction indicating "Not for sale in California" during the transition from 2023 to 2024 was due to a delay in updating the product status. We have now obtained the latest CARB certificate for 2024, so please feel assured when making your purchase.

    Ipower has a new trio of auto switching dual fuels I’d love seeing reports on!: SUA2301iD / SUA4300iD / SUA7600iED (don’t care about the largest but included for completeness)

    • @MR_Garage
      @MR_Garage  Před 4 měsíci

      They look really good. All those are senci built. Not sure I would get one in though. The only one I would be interested in would be the SUA4300iD. It is basically the Heomaito HMT3500iD with a slightly better inverter, wheels and luggage handle for more cash and more weight. The HMT3500iD has a rated 3.3kW inverter so the SUA4300iD would have a 3.45kW inverter / 145W more. I never believe manufacturers surge capacity. Too many variables. Knowing they are Senci, does give me some confidence in their product though!

    Any idea which high altitude jet kit goes with this generator? Heomaito had replied to me that ’it’s a 107 size for my area’, but I haven’t been able to get an answer on if that means ANY carburetor jet with that size, or if I need to match some carburetor manufacture first.

    • @MR_Garage
      @MR_Garage  Před 4 měsíci

      I have not sized the jet yet. As lean as it runs at 1K feet, may just try it at higher altitude before a re-jet!

    Terrific, informative, entertaining, and well presented review - thank you! I’m envious of your workshop.
    I was leaning toward the Pulsar but you introduced to and sold me on the Heomaito due to its ease of tear down for servicing and rubber-isolated engine.
    I wonder how difficult it would be to bypass its CO sensor should it fail preventing the generator’s operation. Bridge two wires kinda thing?
    BTW: The HMT1440i looks similar to the Senci SC1400i so some parts may be interchangeable should Heomaito-branded parts be difficult to source.

    • @MR_Garage
      @MR_Garage  Před 4 měsíci

      Appreciated! And yeah, most of these little gens do not use proprietary parts until you get to the rotating assembly. Can source a coil, inverter board or whatever pretty easy - just a little time consuming. And yes, same as Senci 1400i. Just different plastics. Also, likely on the CO delete. They usually just interrupt the engine kill button (same as flipping the switch open). Should not pose a problem to bypass but will look into it further next time I have this one apart. I would like to change the run LED to a water clear green high MCD LED. Too dim, can only see the light if looking directly into it.

    Just curious. Would 1100 watts start up the compressor on an 8k btu portable ac?

    • @MR_Garage
      @MR_Garage  Před 4 měsíci +3

      I just tried it for you on a 12k btu midea U window ac unit. Started it no problem. But, the midea U is extremely energy efficient and it is only 74 degrees outside (set the ac to 60). Hotter it is, harder it is to start. Best test I can do with our current weather.
      I would say a standard 8k ac unit would be no prob

      They also make these Soft Start devices that reduce the initial load of devices upon starting up. I've seen people use them for air conditioners in RVs and even their home too.
