  • In this video, I cover an exceptionally energy efficient 7CU refrigerator I discovered and implemented into my travel trailer. This unit can easily replace a 2 way or inefficient 3 way AC, propane or DC offering. This fridge SIPS power, averaging less than 20Wh! Best of all, it comes in at a small fraction of the cost of some DC units in this size.

Great video - would love to see more about your Eco Flow Delta setup

That was interesting. Looks like solar panels are coming your way soon.
My 2-way fridge- I’d gladly change it out & as well as the freaking huge A/C on the roof ( but I do NEED air conditioning). It’s hot out west .
Love the small agile size the trailer is but I’m leary
of the roof integrity with 100 lbs up there

I wonder what a "typical" electric/propane fridge-freezer combo might draw in watts when it's run on propane. We camp without hook-ups (yes...boondock...your favorite term!) several times per year for up to eight days at a time. No lights, no water pump...nothing but the electric circuitry for the fridge/freezer. It can be a challenge!

Very informative, I would have never thought this would be an viable option. Just wondering what trailer tongue storage box did you use on the RP-153?

My 2 way absorption fridge stopped working and I'm looking into replacing it with a 12volt compressor model, but not sure about using the AC to run these fridge. I would think having to turn on the inverter while boondocking would negate the power savings you described.

In most cases, you would be correct, but it comes down to splitting hairs and the exact 12v model you are looking at (its actual efficiency). Since I did away with 12v house batteries and my setup runs like a 24 or 48V DC setup requiring DC-DC conversion for basic 12v needs in the travel trailer, this fridge wins big time. And once cool, the average power draw is so crazy low. As long as it gets the job done for a good price - run it!

I also have a GX470 that I will using to tow my travel trailer. Does the GX have a transmission cooler?

It does, a very small one. I would recommend an upgrade only of towing above 80% of the tow capacity. I am around 50% and the stock cooler is having no issues keeping up (internal radiator cooling and small external cooler)

Is the condenser external? The biggest issue with mini fridges is that the condenser is buried in the sidewall.

Side walls. Plenty of airflow and clearance around the sides and top in my install. Never even gets slightly warm inside the cabinet.
