My fox has a set of canfield 195s, the car felt sluggish.. so i checked the plugs and the previous owner had installed factory sparkplug.. what a difference once I switch them out
Amazing the difference!
@@BREW2LFOXBODY hey brother this one video single handedly helped me more than anything Ive watched on youtube! I got a 92 Lx carb, alum heads, 4.10 gear so on.. The car has NEVER ran the way i had expected. I changed the plugs out earlier with the correct length and finally its turning up.. Way up, no stumbling or anything. Thanks alot man.. I kept blaming carb and pulling off time and again tearing it down. Unreal the difference. Share some more of that kinda knowledge.. Lol
Man the advice you and neo be giving us is priceless, a lot of just got our selfs to be figuring things out but you guys help us out alot. Got to love the FOXBODY Community!!
We always be BS"in about stuff like this. It was just a random conversation i happened to be catching him changing plugs! Thanks for inclusion @brew2l
Anytime brother! Thank you All Torque for the kind words. We truly do try to bring the best content we can.
People donât understand why I love the foxbodys so much, all I say is there ainât no other better community!!
Would love to see a detailed video of the vacuum line oem locations and routing and what you definitely need or what you can cap off etc, detailed video would probably help a lot of people out! (Myself included) đđ€
Good advice and great video! You really do a lot to help the đŠ Community! Much respect to you Brother! đŻđđŸ
Thanks superfly!
I add a cold air intake thinking I was doing something but my uncle told me it would run better with the stock intake setup and a k&n panel filter and he was right. My car is much more responsive
When I got mine, it had the Trickflow 170's. with factory plugs. I put Autolite 3926's and night and day.
Huge difference for sure!
These are the style videos that have taught me and continue to teach me so much! Thanks as always!
Love to see it! good moves Brew!
Always a pleasure watching you guys do your thing! Almost done with my seat recovering and then back together for more cruises!
Good to see some love for the red interior! Seems like everyone wants black or grey these days. Always enjoy watching!
Thank you for sharing some great advice once again!
Great content as always keep up the good work!!
The dome light has a mind of his own lol..
The hatch doesnât latch lol
Nice! It is good to see you and Neo chatting - this shows the strength of our community
Thanks for sharing that knowledge man.
As always appreciate the knowledge
Absolutely love the "Remedial" Fix Body math lessons you guys bring, on a regular basis đ..!
I lived thru the Fox period, though the closest I got, was low milage, 81 Thunder bird, with a 255.
I swapped a 90 5.0 GT Motor, factory headers and cat H pipe, with an Edlebrock Performer and carb..
And low mile 8.8 w/3.73 gears.. Good times !
Thanks for pointers on plugs, though especially the possibility of to tight valve lash.. I did springs and valve seals, on my 90 non HO 302 truck motor, and can't even remember the instructions I was using to set those valves !!!!!! I do tend to "pop" a bit.. I'll be checking shortly brother.!!! Thanks đ ...
Thats just Awesome đ
Really a enjoyable one bud, great job fixing some spoty work, fixing those hair pulling problems.
Good tips I just switched to gt 40âs and have the same problem, Iâll be digging in to this weekend đđ»
Excellent episode.. I had a smile đ on my face too when you started the car.
For the second time.
I was laughing when you were adjusting the valves...
"Focus, focus..."
These videos are always great.. thank u...I have to check my valves now.. but im in NY and I only have a driveway...its 17 degrees
I had the same incorrect plugs in my Performer RPM aluminum heads this whole time and even when I had it tuned nobody noticed, thanks for the video!
God bless Brew2L!
Correct me if I'm wrong but aftermarket aluminum heads need spark plugs with the washer instead of tapered seat. The taper will actually damage the first thread. Check out some NGK FR5 stock number 7373. You're welcome
Good job
My 93 GT has a e303 cam victory Junior heads I've been having a popping back through my intake for a while I've done everything trying to figure out what it was causing it and I haven't checked my viles I was thinking maybe a week valspring a while back thanks for your videos!!đđșđž
Yall see that flickering light hahaha that tripped me out for a sec haha
Lol itâs fixed now. Trunk latch wasnât adjusted right.
I quit using motorcraft plugs years ago when I switched to afr heads I only use ngk plugs they run better and last longer especially running a carburetor motor
One thing not mentioned during the plug talk is indexing of plugs I canât stress enough how in important this is aswell for optimal performance. I gap my na car at.045 all plugs indexed most time you will need two sets of plugs to get them all indexed.
Paint that thing black with the red molding stripe and turbines like the 87 gt on the ford commercial. With that red interior đ
I drive a 98gt conv the idle stays up and rpms sort of hang if I rev it up. I could send it to you I'd love that come back brand new I fixed a couple things watching you the best you are you know your mustang any car probably. Strong. respect for you
Thanks for advice at 14:20
Who wouldâve thought that something so small could create so many issues!
What is your opinion on factory air box vs cold air intake?
Awesome , I just got a new project fox.
91 hatch 5.0/AOD . Fresh 306 that is knocking
Iâm going to fix it and drive it . The kid that owned it got super discouraged and gave up .
I got it and looked it over , cars not been wrecked , wording is not butchered, a/c , heat is all there . Iâll swap it over to 5 lug and party on.
Interesting I never had a problem with my cold air. I'll have to look out for that when I start building this 79 Capri Fox đŠ
Most people wonât have that problem but Iâve seen it before with some setups
Great content brother Brew2l!..... Looks like you have a pesky door ajar switch I noticed when you whipped around at the end to head back the dome light went on for some time and then finally kicked itself off I had one doing that once only on sharp turns and that's what it was the body flex was just enough to relieve the ajar plunger and kick on the dome hahaha #foxproblems
I tried a cold air intake on my fox. Wasn't pleased and dropped my stock airbox in with a K&N air filter.
this is crazy... i just got back from orileys with new plugs... eerie!!
Something that just clicked in my head⊠this car has Canfield 192âs right? Thatâs what my car has and they call for a Gasket seat spark plug not taper seat.
That interior light though lol
I'm gapping my boosted car at 50 thousandths that's what the crame cams hi 6 ignition and edelbrock recommended and not a bit of problems.
Great video man, I'm trying to get my 87 ready for FTO, the 65 ain't looking good I need trunk floors put in before I take it because the rear shackles are about to go through the floor, I have the frame rail, so one piece down lol
Bring the fox this time!
@@BREW2LFOXBODY that's the plan if I can get the trans shifting in OD I'll probably drive it and mom will bring her 2001
now you can do that AOD Shuffle
Man, that thing seems to run too good to ditch the efi
It may be staying for a whileâŠ.
i had that same popping issue. an found there was no gasket between the upper an lower intake.
When it comes down to the âvalve adjustment â would you recommend the âcrank/bump/â to check for looseness on pedestal roller rockers?I noticed you tightened rocker(stud mount) first then someone bumped it a hair, wiggle then tighten/adjust?
Check your wiring, dome light was popping on and off on your 2nd test drive.
Hey bro love your channel! Have you ever heard of the rock/adjust method to adjust valves? Itâs the simplest, quickest and most accurate way to adjust your valves. Iâm sure Neo will know if you havenât. Check into it đ
dude that pappa t mustang is looking nice
I love Mustangs and watching your video đč I'd love to meet you and ride in one I learn alot from your videos I'm very into fixing on cars and fast cars I want to build my own mustang
Iâll be in Tennessee at ford takeover in June if you can make it. đ
3/4 inch reach on my AFR 185
Cobra R tribute build would be cool for that car.
Cel on!!!! Says replace engine!
I thought they have hydraulic lifters. Thatâs rough if your out on that. I actually bury mine all the way down then come out 3/4 turn. So that they are more short travel. I would like to know how lean it is when your intake backfire
does that get better as it gets warm.
This is a stretch, but can you do a video on how to fix the temp gauge you pointed out at 10 min? Mine is doing the same and I donât know how to fix it. I have replaced the sensor as well.
@BREW2L
I just bought a 88 fox body GT 5.0 it does feel sluggish Iâll change the plugs but it also shakes above 45 MPH and even a lil more around 65 or when I get on the gas at take off what could that be caused by . Love the vids thanks đ€đŒđŠ
88 GT 5.0 convertible came with cobra wheel I believe
Ive been having trouble with my 88 with the braking system, I put PBR 04 front calipers with stock drums and the stock master cylinder seemed to small and I didnt have the braking power that i needed, I put an SVO one on and now I have a stiff pedal but the brakes do not actually stop well at all. Would a 94 cobra master cylinder be best and would fit a fox? If someone could please help me lol
The MESH FILTER IN THE PVC DOES HELP WITH PERF.
Iâm not a fan of that intake.
Good point. The mesh slows down the amount of unmetered air.
Next video tell us all how to fix the hatch not latching down please I have the same problem đ€Ł
Lol I can do that đ
Hey bud you struck a good point that made me really think I have a 94 svt cobra with gt40 heads i currently am running the shorter thread spark plugs the people who built my motor had the smaller ones in when I pulled them after the break in I figured id replace them so When I went to the part store to get my plugs they gave me the shorter ones I think I just asked for 94 mustang v8 plugs i never told them it was a cobra and I know the cobras have gt40 heads so did the regular gt s have a different head and should I be running the longer thread plugs or is it a after market head that they are required to use??????
This makes me want to get back to work on my fox but itâs still stuck at the body guys place
made the same mistake on my canfield 192's.
Iâm having a valve adjustment problem in my 92 GT
What size ate the front wheels and tires
You should paint it a two tone blue and titanium
What was up with the dome light flicker'n?
I still oil (K&N filter oil) my MAF filter. What problems typically have you had by doing this. You didn't really talk about this in the video, thanks.
How does your throttle cable look? Could your throttle cable be stretched? If you replace your throttle cable it may improve the throttle response if your carâs throttle cable is stretched or worn.
The cable is good. The plugs definitely helped the throttle response
I need a neo
Side cut plugs spec
Did you decide on a color yet? Mine pops when its cold. Mine has stock valve train. So I bet it is ect.
I think I have it narrowed down to 2 colors.
I honestly just got the privilege of actually becoming a FOXBODY owner I have a completely restored 1979 and also a 1988 that used to be my brothers and needs a whole lot of work and I'm still a little bit green about a lot of auto mechanics and I've learned a bit from you fellas can y'all maybe point me in the right direction on an issue I've followed installing the distributor ran proper firing order replaced coil on inner fender and pip yet when i bump it over it blows my thumb off the number one spark plug hole before its near |0| so i go ahead and rotate the engine clockwise until im on 0 and then set the distributor like im supposed to and yet the thing runs like complete garbage am i missing something here about finding TDC
I noticed in the beginning you did a pull and your temp gauge was above half. Isn't that like 220 degrees?
That 2.73 gear thoughâŠ.
I have a 95 GT with the 5.0 and it has a idle surge since I got I went through all the vacuum lines, oil change, plug, wires, distributor cap and rotor button, what else do you recommend for me to look at ?
Tps sensor, IAC (idle air control, make sure all intake tubing is clean. Possible MAF. Check for leaks
Pretty sure every Fox Body owner uses the top of the radiator to hold nuts and bolts LOL
Yes! Best tool tray you can buy
The edelbrock heads are the same.
Did I miss a video ?...looks like the 65 has a complete front end and hood on it
It was in the last video at the end.
@@BREW2LFOXBODY I'm going searching the last video I watched I let it play while I did the dishes...happy wife happy life...
Dang, car definitely has some hidden issues!đđŻ What year is that car my man??
Definitely a few issues but nothing serious. I bought it about a month ago.
@@BREW2LFOXBODYThat's what's up,I know you can figure out all the bugs brother! đđŻ
If your good with the purchase, I'm good, lmao! You my man!
Because you don't have the air box hooked up
So running tha 0.54 gap isn't no good?
Are you saying the car is slow for an AOD car or it's slow for a Foxbody in general?
I didn't watch the whole series on this car but surely you know that AOD cars are about a full second slower than 5spd cars, right? Sorry if I"m stating the obvious here.
Why not run the KOEO/KOER self diagnosis ??
Itâll just show every code in the book. Lol
So every sensor KO will show bad??
LOL
Had to come back to this::đČ
The KOEO self test runs a test on every sensor and electrical component prior to engine start. It supercedes running soft codes.
My plugs are fr5 idk
Next thing Iâd be doing is getting rid of those dumb tall valve covers and pulling that giant intake spacer out so the poor thing can breathe above 5k.
Mr satan REEEEE REEEEE
That is NOT THE VALVES. It's vacuum.
Who's red GT in the thumbnail and do they wanna sell it? Kicking myself got buying a white one. Should have waited for red on porno red. SMH
The technical information which you are providing on this channel is far from the truth. We call you the "trial and error channel" you do make them look good I'll give you that. Get your facts right before you influence all these younger and foxbody inexperienced guys with wrong technical data and how to. I watch your channel just to get laughs đ€Łđ€Łđ€Łđ€Ł. Real technicians know what I'm seeing here.
do you mean film and work at the sametime, do it all the time.
Love to see it! good moves Brew!
