KC & the Sunshine Band and Earth, Wind and Fire were two of my favorite groups back in the 1970's. Both have fantastic horn sections and their music are always about the happiness and fun aspects of life. Their music is always uplifting and just makes you feel good and they come from a time when people played real instruments without the aid of vocoders or other electronic foolery. Today's music is largely made using computers where the artistry is lost in the process.

I love watching younger people react to the music i grew up with. Its fun seeing their faces light up when they realize how awesome it is.

The background singers were huge back then known as the Sunshine Girls.

It was around 1976 - I was 14 or 15 and they were at a local record store to autograph their album. I stood in line with my girlfriends and when I got to the front and asked him to sign my album, he said "only if I get a kiss"... I'm sure I turned several shades of red but I got a kiss and still have my signed album. Thanks for the memory!

Even if you aren't into disco, you have to respect and admire a band that gives you the whole package when they perform. Not just good vocals and instrumentals. But the visuals - clothes, hair, dancing, energy. Sometimes I think artists today wear the same clothes they take their trash out in and don't even comb their hair.

I played sax some as a kid, and the amazing part to me is the guys dancing with the horns for the breath control it would take to not only play, but keep moving. I would faint in a minute flat, my vision going dark. That's why I have a theory when everything stops and the camera zooms on the drummer so he can do his thing, everyone else is just taking a deep breath.

How can you be so young and know how disco was. We were all one people, please let everyone be like we were back then, we all were" ONE" No black and white or any other color. I loved that time as a white man, absolutely magical

You have to review Earth, Wind, and Fire,s Fantasy. I saw them live twice. The horn section is amazing. The costumes, amazing too. The visuals, the music, omg.
