Hi everyone. Ryan Evans here, the guest from the segment. A few people have commented on my remarks about helicopters. I wish I elaborated more while on air but here's my view: I understand how helicopters are meant to be used in combined arms warfare, but given how the airspace is still very contested over Ukraine (to the extent that Ukraine is already being exceedingly careful in how it uses the aircraft it already has) and given these helicopters will make for attractive targets, I'm skeptical as to their overall value for Ukraine. However I am not against providing them. Thank you all for engaging

Huh? Helicopters give your light infantry mobility. Same thing with 155 howitzers, mobile big guns on tracks (tank chasis) OR all terrain trucks. Hugely important because anything you fire, especially that big, can be instantly located and destroyed.
they are delivered to site and moved by truck, and are not on rails.
Helicopters do something no other vehicle can do quickly. Rescue or remove high value items from dangerous areas. It's the original reason the US military wanted the strange flying machine. This dude just doesn't finish a thought completely before blurting out a nonsensical statement just to use up the rest of his lungful of oxygen without a period.
Helicopters are extremely vulnerable to MANPADS in open flat country like eastern and southern Ukraine. That is going to severely limit their ability to be used on operations there - by both sides.
Thanks everyone. This is Ryan, the guest from the segment. I didn't explain my comment on helicopters on air and I should have: Given the airspace over Ukraine is still very contested to the extent that Kyiv is being very cautious in using the aircraft it already has, I worry these will make for very attractive targets for Russia and will therefore not provide a lot of military value. However I am not against providing them. Thanks for your comments.

Inform yourself, internet is widely available, only lazy rest uneducated
Erm, why do American broadcasters keep publicly stating what weaponry and quantities they are giving Ukraine? It is completely unnecessary to do this, and quite obviously letting Russia know precisely what is going on. Facepalm.
Secrecy isn't always the top priority. Morale, optics and international cooperation is a constantly shifting factor. The USA broadcasting details of their package is not only fodder for their domestic politics, it "ups the ante" for other countries and is a kind of fist-pumping gesture at Russians bemoaning Western arms assistance. During a recent press briefing Zalensky gave, a lot of foreign journalists asked him how he felt about the support he was getting from their respective countries. Germany was not named explicitly, but Zalensky threw them some shade for not doing more and holding up the full embargo on Russian oil/gas. In the German press, they see large numbers of heavier/deadlier weapons coming from the USA/UK, and Zalensky's criticism of Germany's lack of full support...the response in Germany's news media is criticism of German leaders and pressure to do more. The Ukrainians in particular want the rest of the world to know they will be able to repel the Russians...having a list of what they're getting is good for PR above what they could gain by keeping things secret so the Russians have less information.
We're not trying to make it a secret that the US and EU are supporting Ukraine in their fight for survival as a nation. We don't mind Putin seeing a united West. This isn't some covert gun smuggle operation. It's very public support for Ukraine.

Steven Hombrados is right. I think Offense is the best Defense.
Lucky for him that he has not to fight only makes speaches. This guy is a dreamer. Killing will proceed as long such dreamers get listened to
There are no separatists. FSB agents went to Ukraine with a $2B budget, hired mercenaries, found a handful of local mercenaries and corrupt individuals and then stormed the administrative buildings in as many cities as they could. They tried the same in Western Ukraine, but the SBU arrested them before they could do anything, there were 500 agents organised by the FSB in the Western region.
Either you are so much of an Azov or so misinformed to write such things. The entire EU lives with the fascists! Ukraine was promised NATO status and allowed USA to grow Bio labs All across its territory for the billions of dollars they pumped back to Azovs! Now all are paying for inflation and petrol everywhere except the citizens of Russia!
@@cbandnibalakrishnan127 Define the word Fascist. There are no bio labs in Ukraine, prove it. Who needs biolabs in Ukraine? The US can build a biolab in its own territory, develop a contagious disease and release it in Russia, it makes no sense to create a biolab elsewhere. China has the Wuhan virus biolab and developed bioweapon COVID-19, they didn't put their lab in Russia.
Jacques Baud explains exactly what happened and that's not it.
This is a superb report. Thank you very much
They need all the weapons they can get ,
Now please and ongoing , Thankyou .
Ryan spoke very well and honestly top marks to him imho 🇬🇧🇺🇸🇺🇦
first month in office zelensky have agreed to give autonomy to Donbas and Lugansk, and CIA have sent the leaders of the AZOF battalion to have little conversation with zelensky, and after that meeting zelensky decided to give nothing to the people in Donbas, he continued with the destruction of that region.
Seems reasonable.

So, "we don't know what we'd do ..." Less a threat and more an expression of hopelessness
What about the arms being shipped in by Russia! That’s the pot calling the kettle black. Victory to Ukraine 🇺🇦 💪💪💪💪.
Ukraine are losing
@@paulbendikas2313 Well if you say so............
@@paulbendikas2313 tell that to the 25,000 dead soldiers that Putin sent into a meat grinder!
Heavy artillery played a big role from the first day and was badly needed by Ukrainians. And you can’t protect cities from bombardment just with Stinger missiles. Expert forgot that it is not a small anti insurgent operation but a full scale war against sophisticated enemy.
Except that the Russian forces on the ground have shown everything but sophistication. And Ukraine has been fighting their tactics for eight years, they wrote the book on how western Brigade Combat Teams BCT's can attack and defeat the standard Russian Battalion Tactical Groups BTG's which were supposed to be good at 'Combined Arms' but as it turns out, they are anything but.
Weapons for every stage of war, that´s knowledge
According to the Budapest Memorandum of 1994, Russia, the US and the UK confirmed their recognition of Ukraine becoming parties to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons and effectively abandoning their nuclear arsenal to Russia and that they would:
1. Respect Ukrainian independence and sovereignty in the existing borders.
2. Refrain from the threat or the use of force against Ukraine.
3. Refrain from using economic pressure on Ukraine to influence their politics.
4. Seek immediate action to provide assistance Ukraine if they "should become a victim of an act of aggression or an object of a threat of aggression in which nuclear weapons are used".
5. Refrain from the use of nuclear arms against Ukraine.
6. Consult with one another if questions arise regarding those commitments
We need to understand that EITHER the word/ deals and / or the grantees of the west are worth something or they are not !!
And here we can clearly see what such guarantees with the west is worth, it has been 8 years now since Russia invaded Ukriane in the east of the country and annexed parts of Ukraine in Crimea AND NOTHING HAS HAPPENED so now Russia is going all inn and taking everything THE CAN!!
That is the result of worthless grantees !!
And here's something the WEST is clearly overlooking ; Taiwan , Israel and everyone else is also asking the question; CAN I TRUST THE WEST TO HOLD TO THEIR WORD AND STAND BY THE GUARANTEES THEY GIVE ! and not just Taiwan and Israel, is right now asking themselves those questions, but even small eastern European NATO member states that border Russia, will be asking themselves those questions as well !! IT'S ABOUT TRUST YOU LOSE TRUST YOU LOSE EVERYTHING!!
And her is the real kicker ; Also Iran, North Korea and China will be seeing what is going on and soon they will be thinking the west is weak; And the will be thinking and saying things like, just look what the west did when Russia was calling out their bluff about red lines in Ukraine ... The time is now, we have our chance to stick it to them !!!!
And then we will see China take Taiwan (so no more silicon-chips for you ) and then we will see Iran take Israel (middle east oil all gone and the middles east up in fire ) And when North Korea goes into South no more south Korea as north will take it over as well !!
SO YOUR OPTIONS ARE ,TO TAKE A STAND NOW OR LATER !!
Let’s not forget the Territorial Imperative…. He who has will hold …The Ukrainians view the land as theirs … the Rooskies just have some sort of abstract goal … which is becoming increasingly abstract…!
I think the American Indians Australian Aborigines and the New Zealand Maori people thought the same thing
@@stephenlowton1911
That didn’t make taking it from us right.
But for us, that was over a hundred years ago. That’s much different to Ukraine. That’s today. The rest of the world has moved on from imperialistic goals
Putin really does have a screw loose.
There is a Jewish saying in Israel about the Palestinians: "They lie, lie some more, continue lying, and after a time, they believe their own lies". Same here for Putin.
Only one?
Or he's a screw driver with a loose handle.
The screws were maintained by the same crew responsible for their military gear.
We need to keep the arms coming in and extra training on new equipment.
This was very good

Ukraine should bring the Special operations, onto Russian soil. Staying in defence mode won’t do much on the long term.

@@tapep225 I guess not, explain it to me, so that I can understand better.
You westerners will fight till the "last Ukrainian" At first I thought Putin was exaggerating, but it is obvious that for you lot it's not about Ukraine, it's more about Russian blood. You are too cowardly to do it yourself so you used Ukrainians.
@@stevenhombrados1530 Russia will start mass mobilization, ramps up military from 150-200k ground troops to millions in two months and set a goal not on Donbas but on all Ukraine.
@@user-iw3rj8mz4b for that to happen, Putin must declare the special operations, an actual War.
Unpredictable consequence: Russia falling apart
Ukrainian presidential adviser Mykhailo Podolyak said Russian forces were "continuously attacking" the encircled Azovstal steel plant in the besieged city of Mariupol on Easter Sunday. The site has become one of the last significant holdouts of Ukrainian forces in the city, and is sheltering hundreds of soldiers and civilians. Does that seem like falling apart?
More effective against artillery would be a fighter wing.
