    I'm quite late to the party with the Specular Tempus, so rather than go through all of the functions and facilities I've just played it with a few of the factory presets and a few of mine. It's an amazing machine and Henry, the head-honcho at GFI System, must be proud.
    I've had most of the big-boy delays come through this studio and I still own several, but few can compete with the ethereal sounds that the Specular Tempus is capable of. It's an inspiring pedal, that's for sure.
    The guitar is a Drinkwater Guitars (previously Oakland Axe Factory) SS-8. Basically it's a multi-scale, 8 string Strat that the great Tom Drinkwater strapped together for me. I love it because it lets me get down to bass-ville if I want to.
    The amps are 2 x Custom Audio Electronics CAE3+ Clean Channel models and '65 Twin cabs, generated in my Axe-FX III, quite possibly the greatest tool a studio (or touring) guitarist could own other than his imagination and hands. It's amazing.
    See ya.

    I can only speak to the Specular Reverb v3, but the algorithms that GFI has developed are fabulous. No one, NO ONE does a subtle and graceful shimmer like GFI and the base reverb goes beyond standard 3 dimensional spatial expanse.

    This pedal needs a dual mono mode: delay to output a, reverb to output b. Delay for the main signal, shimmer reverb through a separate amp.
    That way, you could use a splitter in front of the Specular Tempus, to add an overdrive to the delay and a volume pedal to the shimmer (both have to be in front of the delay or reverb...)

    It's a great pedal indeed ... It's now a few months that I've got one and there's plenty of fun to play with it....especially with a Friedman BE-OD in front :-)

    Ethereal is certainly the word Brett, you can imagine yourself in a celestial cavern being serenaded by angelic beings of poetic disposition with this one!

    Wasn't sure when I saw the faned frets 8 strings Strat, but the last seconds confirmed you're my favorite kind of pyschopath :-)This pedal is monumental for sure.

    I use this pedal for guitars and synths. It never disappointed me. You can tweak a bit more via their speclab app. I recommend a footswitch for tapping the tempo for delays and for stepping through the presets.

    Really nice. I’m not near my ST now, but I wonder if the Awakening presets starting around 1:50 are yours...they sound uniquely nifty...but maybe it’s your playing and the fact I’ve been away from it for awhile.
    Anyway, I’d appreciate your thoughts on that. Thanks.

    If I have a Nemesis Delay, Keeley HALO, JHS Panther V1, Boss Tera Echo, GFI Specular Reverb V3 is there a good reason to sell the Reverb V3 and Nemesis and replace it with this?

    • @MindfulProgramming
      @MindfulProgramming Před 6 lety +1

      DreamRubycon they're all going to be similar, the algorithms are the same, although the Tempus has a few more reverb and delay algos as well. Having the Specular Reverb and Clockwork Delay instead would allow the stacking of different algos other than Digital/Analog/Echo Delays + Spatium Reverb and vice versa.

    Can you engage the delay while the reverb is already on?

    • @TW-AZ
      @TW-AZ Před 5 lety

      no, the reverb/delays algorithms are not independently controlled. GFI Systems has said they are planning on making a version of the pedal that has two processors though that will be able to do that.

    • @V3nom7
      @V3nom7 Před 5 lety +2

      @@TW-AZ I can confirm that Henry is working on a dual engine Specular Tempus. In about a year, he hope to release it, you'll be able to make every mix effect you want PLUS change every parameters directly on the medal (for the moment, the called "virtual" parameters are only accessible via Speclab with computer and usb cable)
      though I don't know if you'll be able to make an engine running (with a reverb by example), while changing the other one seamlessly. (but it sounds like more than doable)
      Henry is a nice guy.

    • @DelScully
      @DelScully Před 3 lety +1

      @@V3nom7 Is he still planning on making this? I'm in the market for a verb and am considering this, a big sky, ventris or empress verb. I'd get this in a heart beat if i could run different delays and reverbs together!
