I understand the hate from some people but myself I love hublot for its design, materials & looks. I do not like the constant limited edition celebrity endorsements though.

The hate is because of price. A 200 dollar sellita moovement in a 100 dollar case with a rubber strap for as much as 8000 dollars or even more. If same watch was under 2000 it was good value.

@@syedmohdfasihnaqvi155 yeah they are horrible value when it comes to entry level. It's really, really hurts the brand. I mean the royal oak and Richard Milles used to be disliked aswell. I think Hublot should move down market. It would only help the brand, I mean the classic fusion and big bang could drop half in price and they would sit just about right. Hublot is a great buy used unlike something like a Rolex. I'm of the mind that you should buy watches to own them and not as investments. Value retention isn't really an issue as long as you buy depreciated watches so that argument also goes out the window. I think a used depreciated 15k dollar Hublot is a better watch than a used 15000k dollar Rolex sub that has skyrocketed since it was taken from the dealers hands. At retail I would still way rather buy Rolex but I don't sell my watches.

Nice video. I like Hublot. They are interesting, unconventional and are not afraid to break the rules.
The concept and origins of Hublot are almost identical to those of Rolex. Hublot gets extra points for being anything but as boring as Rolex. Not to mention their metallurgical innovations and housing higher movements & complications.
And to anyone who brings up resale value I say, there are people who own watches and there are people who rent them.

I’m personally torn between the chrono & the Meca10. I saw both and tried them on in a boutique not long ago.
On one hand I find that the Meca10 with its 10days power reserve looks great from the front and the back. Visually, I would choose it. Also it would be nice to have such a movement in the collection.
Then again the chrono has 100m water resistance vs 50m for the Meca10 and it’s an automatic. I would imagine winding the Meca10 every weekend for example will require 140-180 turns of the crown (just my estimate) even more if it had completely stopped.

I’m just completing the final movement design with Stefan Kudoke on a rose gold Kudoke 2, an Aquanaut 5167-1a should be in by December and I’m wearing a 2021 Sub Date daily. I’m considering selling my Parmigiani Tonda GT though I’m afraid I’ll regret it like I so of regret selling my H Moser Streamliner last year. In any case, I’m looking beginning to look for something with some different materials and maybe a little color. Panerai is a possibility but Hublot seems like it has potential. There are just too many cool watches!
