Definitely a huge lack of heart and it looked to me like he also gassed out. Even if he lost, had he continue doing what was doing and finish the fight, he could've made enough of an impact to get a couple more decent fights at least and end his career on a better note. Its time for him to retire; Chavez Sr doesn't need to keep been embarrassed by his sons.

I was at this event working and heard Chavez was over the weight limit, so by default Jacobs was gonna win anyway but Chavez got to keep the belt so basically they were just fighting to fight. Thatâs why Chavez gave up because it didnât matter who was going to win.

ChĂĄvez had Jacobs on the run. He looked very strong and was hurting Jacobs. Too bad he didnât have the heart to continue. I really felt heâd have knocked Jacobs out down the line. Jacobs couldnât take those shots. This was also the best version of Chavez Iâve seen in a long while. Too bad he quit!
Of course he looked strong. He missed weight by 5 pounds. He probably outweigh Jacobs 20+ lbs on fight night.
Jacobs is a boxer puncher kind of fighter. He picks his shots while on the back foot. He did say plenty of time in post fight interviews that Chaves felt very heavy so he was weary of that. We only saw the first 5 rounds so we have no idea if Jacobs wouldâve started to open up more as the fight progressed like he did against Canelo, although it was too little too late in that situation. But Jacobs fighting on his back foot isnât an indicator for how well Chavez was doing.
