I will share; when our daughter called home from grad school and said, "I am really serious with my boyfriend", "Great dear where is he from?", "Oh, he is Iranian" - I had a moment of silence. As soon as we met him we thought - good job, great guy. We love his family and it has been fun learning about their culture, adds so much to our whole family!

When he mentioned not being Iranian enough or American enough, it really reminded me of the book Twice A Stranger. The minority's struggle is heartbreaking, and I totally relate to it. However, on the bright side, it makes us stronger and inspires us to work harder.

As just an Armenian, I loved this! We are all brothers and sisters, Kurds, Turks, Persians, Parisians, Arabs, just Americans, etc. One race--the human race!

The Persians were pioneering science and math for thousands of years. From Cyrus the great to Avicenna, to modern day Iranian scientists like Ali Javan who invented the gas laser...

And then you say we are American ..when people use to ask me what nationality I was ..I would say I'm part Irish , French , Indian , English , German and Dutch .I was born and raised In America , but those are my nationality that I know of ...America is the great melting pot of the world .
