I wish they made a saint out of you, dude, it's not easy for me to find people like that... I'm a metalhead and I really love hair metal. Even though this genre was kinda popular from the 80's to the beginning of the 90's, a lot of hair bands played great music ( I also love some of the new bands, such as h.e.a.t, reckless love, crazy lixx ...) and I totally agree with you: that kind of music is 1000 times better than most modern hits. I'm sick of all these "true metalheads" sayin' this is false metal... Someone might say " I hate this music", but please let's try to be honest ... Heavy Metal is great because it is composed by a large variety of subgenres which can give you many different vibes, I think.

That is the glory that is Mick Mars guitar! This song is based on Nikki Sixx near fatal overdose - read the Heroin Diaries. The original video of this song is awesome. Don't miss it! 80's Hair Glam Metal is there for FUN, for OVER INDULGENCE, sex, power, there was some great technical moments in the genre but it's not about that - never was! It's just rock and roll for the sake of living the rock lifestyle to the fullest. It's about tearing it up and screaming your lungs out. Enjoy it for what it is!

This song was huge when it came out. The Crue opened up a lit if people to a new genre they wouldn't listen to otherwise. Many people say same shit about Metallica. Too commercial, they sold out etc. 80s hair bands definitely had their place in music. It was fun. Not too serious. 80s rock was like a gateway to thebrest for a lot of people. My love at that time for GNR, Poison, Crue, Warrant, White Lion, Slaughter, Dokken, Queensryche, opened the door for a lot of other stuff. They got a lot of radio play so people paid attention. 80s hair bands will always have a place for me. My first musical love.

People can trash talk glam metal all they want, but like they said, this was all about fun. If you were a kid in the 80's, then this music reminds you of... the days when you rode your bikes without helmets... mom didn't have a leash called a "cell phone" tied to you... Friends were real people, not just counters on a social website...Action movies had practical effects, comedies were actually funny...And cartoons had the best intros ever. Ahhh, nostalgia....

The title of the song came about because The Bassist (Nikki Sixx) Overdosed on heroin, and they had to resuscitate him in an ambulance on the way to the hospital... hence the name "kickstart my heart"

It's a solid rock song. All the way from September 1, 1989, "Dr. Feelgood" (album).

That was fun. The song in The Golden Child playing as he went into the biker's den/crack house was"Body Talk" by the group RATT. Kickstart My Heart is a pretty good "banger". I dig it when people can be open to different things. It's a big part of what makes music so great! Have fun, -J in L.A.
