Just bought one of the new series, now renamed Outlaw "Gran Milano" (different graphics, bi-coloured seat, double-rifle single-side exhaust replaced with a a two-sides conic exhausts). After a long research, the best scrambler/tracker out there in that price range, and best value for money. The components on this are just top notch, from suspensions, to brakes, to tyres. Really a well made Italian design.
This bike would be great as a commuter & weekend play around. Lite weight, nimble, retro style, basic bike. Love it!
Had one of the first SWM Grand Milanos built (very similar to this bike), that was an awesome bike, full of character, great looking, well built, a joy to ride, great handling, great brakes and suspension, enough grunt to be fun, and as you said, simple! Only downside was the large tank of the first few models between theblegs but this one seems to solve it. Would buy another one in a heartbeat!
I have a 2018 model same tank no abs and I love it, in Australia it’s not really suited for long distances but 400 to 500 klm a day is ok. Nice solid components and motor is a gem. Not many dealers , yet, and not very many accessories on offer like racks etc
Hy man, do You think this engine could reach 100 thousand km without canghe Pistons or Component's like that, do You have problem with electronic or something like That? Thanks for your time, good ride and ride safe
Simple is good for me. The main reason I’m looking to switch the 1000cc bike in for a Honda Rebel or similar. There’s a lot to be said for that. It just works. Oh and once again, congrats to SWM for putting decent tyres on this bike straight out of the factory.
Hello Both Mash and SWM have parts from Shineray. But there is a big difference. The Mash roll out from Shineray factory ready for the street. SWM instead arrive in Italy at Viandonno (ex Husquarna factory and workers) and there are completed with brakes (Brembo) and others parts. The engin is 445, oil and air cooled as per SWM request.
Hi I own a Benelli Imperiale 400 and have 1600 miles on the clock from new 01/07/2020. I like the bike very much. I think the headlight is perfect for the blacked out back roads I ride at night. I think the lights seem to be not reviewed much but make a big difference. I like your videos and find them very helpful. Keep up the good work. Thanks
Just got my 2018 silver vase and I love it. Bit early to know whether it will durable and reliable but it’s good to ride and I love the styling , same tank as your outlaw model silver frame same motor.
And for $5000 Aus ride away.
Can’t beat that. Paul
How's it going with that bike mate? I'm thinking the same down here in Oz. Although, I might be thinking of a larger bike, as this is the upgrade bike after LAMS.
Is it reliable bike?
Looks good, sounds great. Just the bike for going to work.
Nice looking bike but so many of these small 'Chinese' manufacturers about with low output engines. I would worry about parts and reliability and back up. Benelli seems the best option for cost and HP. It's a real shame Triumph don't produce a single along the lines of their 1200 Scramler. I am looking forward to the next RE 650 version. Enjoyed your review though.
Yes I like it, except for the single lcd clock. Much prefer the old fashioned two dials with needles, but then again I'm an ancient old fart. Have just bought an RE Interceptor and cannot justify a second bike at the moment.
RE ought to give the ‘scrambler’ treatment to the Interceptor. An Interceptor Desert Sled edition and I’ll get my cheque book
I have one a silver vase looks the same but no abs. It’s bloody fantastic
Paul
Australia
Could you please tell me why people hate ABS?
@@PaKePo Because they think they're gun riders, who could be Grand Prix champions just given half a chance.
That bike looks great and you wouldn’t be afraid to drop it.👍 from me.
Hate leaving negative comments , just my view ,, no thought as gone into the name of this bike company, no panache, definitely wouldn’t have one just for the name , no desire , but thanks for the review , editing is a ball ache , watched most of your vids , cheers shane uk 🇬🇧
Thanks for another entertaining informative review...nice bike, but when compared to the RE Interceptor it's a little pricey. 👍
I own a swm ace of spades 125 which is the outlow but different colour, very nice and well made bike! Hope you gonna review it soon! Crak
It is on the list!
Very nice looking bike ,great video as always oh and keep the army bike 👍
Moto eccellente. facile come una bicicletta. molto bella. la fabbrica è composta di gente appassionata. Varese
in my country the price for this bike is 3200 GBP brand new(I'm from Chile).
Looks a cracking scooter. Scooter #1 is the GP125 and scooter#2 is the new GP300.
Try a benelli leoncino trial, its cheaper, better looking and 47bhp.
Benelli certainly is a great bike, can't argue there...but the design of this is just so damn cool I think.
@@andyc750 not quite. Benelli is owned by Keeway who are owned by the Qianjiang group and formed Qianjiang-Benelli. SWM is Italian but funded by Shineray.
And Benelli s 50kg more
@@cedricdecharme nope, Benelli's dry weight is 170 kilograms. So it's something around 25 kg
@@Velosirraton
Ah ok...thanks 😉
Subbed (finally) after watching many masses videos. I like. Maybe more than the husky svartpillen. much love from yorkshire
Maybe it is the colour of the tank that the rocking of the boat has not commenced, but looking at the Ace Of Spades in black well thats a different matter, I can feel a stirring occuring. Again you looked comfortable riding this machine.
Haha
Sort of bike I'd sell my Gpz 500S for.
But then it has 50bhp 125 top speed. Cruises at 80 all day and it can get 50-75mpg. It only cost me £1350. Admittedly it's 25 years old but I can still find parts, but I'd like to see these bikes still around in 25 years time.
Thank you for your review I'm looking for a bike like this and this really helps me make a choice, though maybe a 500 cc engine is a bit too much for me as a beginner, best and keep it up ;-)
It will be a good bike to start on 👍👍
such a good looking bike. Unfortunately they don't sell them here in Sweden
Very nice looking bike. A tad pricey though.
I think the Janus halcyon 450 uses this engine
Seriously considering the 440 Six Days in British racing green.
Your take on it would be much appreciated 🍻🍻

Just need to get hold of one now their is no importer in the UK at the moment.
@@motorsforthemasses is it possible they dropped this brand due to many reliability issues with the bikes?
I am interviewing some owners and hearing some complaints...
great banter
looks goods
It just looks a bit dull and small, reminds me of the AJS Tempest .... The RE Interceptor/GT just has more presence IMO.
The Tempest is a good looking bike....just not enough of them around.
@@motorsforthemasses agreed .... i think the tempest is prettier but that seat is so hard :) .... I sound like Goldilocks :)
@@shanedebarra4986 I actually meant to say not enough of the Interceptor around lol. Can't make enough to meet the demand.
I think it's an amazing bike but it's missing some hps, I know that's "only" no-liquid-cooled 445cc but it's a pity having such beautiful look
Looks good!
I'm trying to pick between a honda cb300r, caballero fantic 250, and the SWM ace of spades 500. All great looking bikes, same hp, similar weights, and all same money.
Appreciate any input!
I feel the CB is the safe choice but the dullest. The Fantic is a great bike, well built, getting some up for review in the not too distant future. The SWM is very nice, well built, rides nicely. It would be between those 2 I feel, just comes down to looks preference. The Fantic will be slightly easier on the corners.....
@@motorsforthemasses thanks, more or less confirms my thinking. The CB isn't a bad looking bike at all, and you know what you are getting with a honda. But the fantic really does look lovely. Looking forward to your review!
RE 650 street scrambler with heigh rise twin exhaust
Knobbly tyres in a nice Matt colour ?
Is that bike real, or is it in making still?
What is it with modern manufactures that they can't seem to run the pipes on a 'scrambler' any where except UNDERNEATH a bike that is supposed to have off road capability! That kills the deal for me every time.
Can you do a review of the SWM 'Ace of Spades' 125 please.
It is on the list!......
@@motorsforthemasses great thanks
It's a very good price
can you please make a comparation between sym nhx 125 and keeway rkr 125?
They are very different bikes
@@motorsforthemasses which one would you go personally with after having them already tested before?
I'd be looking for a minimum of 45 HP. I wish the main stream manufacturers would do a decent retro scrambler with wire wheels, 19 " front wheel. The Husqui's are just damn ugly.
When can we expect the review of the AJS Isaba 125 it's absolutely amazing looking bike but is it any good🤔
It is exactly the same as the Mash Falcone which we reviewed a couple of months ago. Slightly different spec differences but essentially the same
@@motorsforthemasses would you say that the build quality is comparable between Mash and AJS. I don't have Mash dealer anyway near Glasgow but I do have AJS. Which would you recommend more. Thanks Eric
What is the maximum speed of this bike? Thanks ;-)
On my Silver Vase 445 from year 2016 is in papers wrote that 155km/h :-) Iam not try this but over 140 km/h going without problems.
@@slavomir8045 No, tak to jede svižně, Slavomíre ;-) :-)) Tady se můžeme bavit česky :-))
is this a five or a six gear?
I like it but never heard of the make before 😎
They were/are an old italian trials manufacturer .... mostly 2 strokes, really competitive in their day. Then the name was bought by a chinese concern I think .... but some of their new stuff seems decent quality with some nice retro designs, the Silver Vase 440 is really pretty.
@@shanedebarra4986 almost. SWM have funding from Shineray but are built in Italy in the old Husqvarna factory. We explain more in our SWM 650 video last week.
@@shanedebarra4986 Thanks
Ti ricordi Cagiva? bene sono a pochi Km da Varese e nell'ex stabilimento Husqvarna. E' un marchio che produceva moto da fuoristrada negli anni 70-80
What happened to AT motorcycles?
AT?
@@motorsforthemasses ar I mean
Just a Benelli dealer now
@@Mongoose118 No, as of last December, I own AR. We sell, Keeway, Benelli, WK, Mash, Sinnis, Bullit, Neco, Peugeot, Stomp, Kayo, AJS, Lifan electric, FB Mondial, Hyosung, SYM, Zontes, Royal Alloy, Lambretta, Motorini
Royal Enfield Interceptor, Benelli Leoncino, even the Zontes 310's, this bike is going to sell in single digit numbers. Why would you buy one when the aforementioned bikes are much better and the same or cheaper price?
You make a good argument...but RE..they just are not making enough of them. Leoncino is much more modern looking, 310 is a different beast. I think the looks/presence this has is what captures its personality.
Looks ok, but the price is just too high. They should pile them high and sell them cheap.
Ok bike nice bits n bobs, but 30hp for a 500 crap, my ntv 650 has 57hp more useful for overtaking on a roads. Exhaust horrible looking too.
Nice bike.. but the RE 650 is the same money I believe.
Just not enough of them available sadly.
@@motorsforthemasses true.. be good to see more bikes in this class - middleweight.. A1 power or slightly above and affordable. There are loads of guys like my want a Sunday bike, but not at €15K+.
The three minutes of content-free intro nonsense to a soundtrack made for 11-year-olds was agony; despite that the bike is interesting
You understand how intros work right? They introduce the programme / episode and the product, which it does....can't please everyone.
Every time i see the wheel's. my mind goes ooohhh not Tubeless :-(
This bike looks a bit undersized...I'm 6.2ft...
This is a swm 750 not a 500. I mean if the bums at swm called it a 500 I' ll call it a 750. Warranty sucks at 20k kms or 2 years. I mean 20 k kms?! in today's market is mediocre...
Ýou say (it is a MASH) BOX...so it should be (a china product)....?
overpriced by £1000
It doesn’t do it for me really 🤢
Another shit old bike review. Any chance of a review of a bike with styling after 1970?
Muchas musica , poca información
