This doesn't mean that we won't have any future confrontations (nobody likes to share #1 spot -- it's just human nature), but this will make sure future confrontations doesn't go out of hand because of accumulation of various issues, including trade issues. We will certainly feel the pain, and this is why past presidents didn't want to risk it. People who can't see past their 401k balance or just retarded will argue what Trump is doing is wrong. I'm no fan of him, but he's certainly ballsy, and crazy enough, to take on such task. I'll certainly vote for him again if Dems continue to behave like they are now.

O'Leary is your typical sociopath and only cares about his personal investments. He could care less if billions are lost in other industries if he can sell 30% more product because the chinese manufacturer making his products cannot sell unauthorized production runs to non-us markets.
The problem is that nuking other industries so he can potentially sell a little bit more product means there won't be consumers with cash to buy his products. Idiots like that want to rely on consumers existing, but then advocate for things that lessen the volume of consumers. They are morons trying to leach off of other people's work, which is funny considering he is so worried about IP rights.
O'Leary cannot make a dime if someone else isn't building things in the US and paying a livable wage to americans.

Don't conflate wealth with intelligence. Focus on the issues rather than the person. Trump does the same thing if you watch his interaction with the press.

I really thought he had something positive going for himself and I didn't want to believe it was a publicity stunt since the amount of news coverage on Canadian evening news programs wasn't that huge to justify the hassle of fundraising, doing some outreach to prospective supporters, signing up new CPC members and eventually campaigning nationwide. From what I recall he was nowhere to be seen at the leadership convention and voting... it was if he was never there in the first place - a disappointment.

Heres some alternatives to combatting china through a trade war:
    1. Instead of giving a random corporate tax cut, why not provide more tax incentives for companies who get their supply from american manufacturers, or at least countries other than china.
    2. Instead of putting tariffs on the whole world (including our allies), why not work with allies to pull demand away from china and focus on strengthening allied economies, and weakening chinas supply chain.
    3. Instead of imploding a deficit while starting a trade war, pay off the massive debt we owe to china, so they can't simply threaten to sell it off to put pressure back on us.
Arguing against the trade war isn't about not wanting to combat china. It's simply about people combatting stupidity.
