Sorry Sharks but you can't mock a product that is making money. Because you dont see the need doesn't mean other dont.
Only thing that matters is it makes $. Don't care if he sells poop a hundred dollars a can
Agreed
It'll be interesting to see how it does when he actually starts shipping the product. All it is is preorder right now.
Kickstarter sales != making money.
but once everyone who needs one had one, there is no room for growth, and 200k for 15 percent is crazy indeed
"Not worth $200,000."
Has $100,000 in sales in 30 days.
Thats revenue not profit doesnt make the company worth around 1.5 million and besides they were preorders the guy had a crazy idea and zero profits and wanted just shy of a 2 million dollar valuation. If you have a crazy unique idea either ask for a small amount or have the cold hard cash from profits to back it up he did neither.

His analogy to hand lotion was actually really valid. They were unnecessarily harsh to this idea in my mind.
That was terrible. No one is scooping hand lotion with a spoon or knife. Same with soap. You NEED a pump on those items. That being said, I would love a pump on my peanut butter.

How spreading peanut butter takes like two seconds
Carlo lapuz not spreading it’s having to clean the utensils
But ud still be using a knife to spread the peanut butter
If you are so smart, why don’t you invest in the company? Those sharks have money and they know what they are doing. I also agree that that pump is not really necessary. You have to use the knife regardless and so it is not going to be a huge thing even if he makes money out of it. If he makes millions of dollars from the product then sure. 100k in a month is good but not good enough for anyone to invest in it
@Toke Asaurus420 You never watched the full episode. It was kickstarter money and he used the funds. That's one important reason why they didn't invest.

Ricky Beans drop the “we,” for only a handful would buy this. You have to use a knife to spread it so why not use that same knife to get peanut butter out of a jar? It’s like 2 seconds so not that hard.
@@jadentran9895 ok "u" wont buy this. Thanks for the feed back
It's a funny gimmick but really the market is too small. There's only a small amount of the American population that consumes peanut butter at such a high rate that this would be a purchase they'd consider. Then out of that fraction you have to see how many people would actually be able to afford a product such as this at the price point offered. Then you have to exclude everyone who prefers to refrigerate their peanut butter instead of leaving it in the cupboard. If you're eating enough peanut butter every day that you're actually considering buying this pump then you probably care a lot about viscosity or refrigerating or not, much like ketchup.
This guy also totally ignored Daymond's suggestion of a commercial market. Right there would probably be the bread and (excuse my pun) peanut butter of his audience. Households could be interesting but the real market for this product would be commercial, restaurants, hotels, etc. Current peanut butter application methods are incredibly inefficient and this would be GREAT for a hotel offering continental breakfast for example, or a fast food place that wanted to use peanut butter as a topping. Right now if you want to offer peanut butter in a quick serve or fast casual environment, you either give the customer those little plastic packets and plastic cutlery to spread the peanut butter ($$$$$) or you engage in the labor intensive activity of spreading it yourself, which mind you can be difficult from a cross-contamination perspective.
You put these dispensers in hotels you're going to be saving A LOT on people who want peanut butter with their self-serve breakfast because you're not spending a fuckton on a bunch of plastic crap that has to be thrown away. Plus you get to be seen as "eco-friendly". It'll also dramatically speed up the application of peanut butter in a restaurant environment as well putting peanut butter on-par with other sauces with can be applied via pump.
But this guy doesn't even address or really thoughtfully consider Daymond's suggestion and for that reason it's totally fair for the other sharks to not really give this guy much consideration. He's focusing on a problem that doesn't really exist in the average American home (high-volume users of peanut butter are probably rare) and didn't give much thought to making this a b2b instead of consumer product as that's where there's the most high volume or potential high volume peanut butter users.
Totally agree with the Sharks here. This is a sort of gimmicky product who's market is high volume peanut butter users which is not a very large market by any means. The CZcams comments don't reflect that because someone who doesn't care that much about peanut butter is unlikely to comment here to say that. CZcams comments attract people who feel strongly about a topic which in this case is peanut butter and since it's relatively rare for someone to *really* hate peanut butter (even people with allergies don't actively hate the allergen) the entire comment section is stacked with the tiny market that this product appeals to.
Spreading peanut butter is not that hard lol. And you still need to use a knife with this.
@@jadentran9895 he's raised $150k on Indigogo, so there's some sort of market for this. Mark Cuban billionaire types might think 150k is nothing, but I bet it's a lot more than this handful of people you mentioned. Unless the handful all gave like $5,000 each.
This shows the detachment from reality the mega rich suffer from. I made a pb&j this morning for work and I would have loved to have this.
When he spread the peanut butter perfectly with 2 pumps and it’s equally the same amount. This literally save so much time. I thought it was a awesome product. He solved so many problems like no clean up, no left over peanut butter. He don’t recommend it to be refrigerated because it hardens the peanut butter making the pump hard to use.
