/ @sharktankglobal
This is probably one of the most intelligent business owners to go on the show in terms of counter offering
Helps to have gone to business school and having experience as a consultant. They are experts on the numbers of a business. Sharks often make bids for 2-3x the asked valuation, but this time I think it was quite fair, and the Sharks got greedy. Kevin and Lori's offers were, like he said, nuts! 20 or15 cents royalty on a product that costs $1.27 is crazy, especially when they make roughly 20 cents in profit. Even if he scaled like expected and cut his production cost by about 20 cent, that royalty deal would seriously impact the cash flow unless he 1.5-2x his prices.
His pitch was phenomenal, and his presentation technique was terrific with the visualization of the process, the business had great sales, he knew his margins would double when he grew, the company secured a deal at 7-1, keto and "no filler ingredients" are trends on the rise. Think the sharks let a huge opportunity slip here.
@@mz2728 it's not the sharks are greedy tho, like mark said, 5x MOM multiple is just not worth it for a VC
@@sdf5998 40% margins on 5m sale, he’s asking 5x sales and 12x profit. Company doubles or goes viral, that’s fair valuation he came with.
He came down to 3x Sales, 6x profit. There is enough upside, if he wants more up side then offer more money.
@@testuser2505 keep in mind this is a VC game, not value investing. VCs look for 10x, 100x MOM multiple. They don't care how cheap the company is, the question is, can you tenfold your money?
@@mz2728 well spoken
This is the first time I’ve seen someone know their business well enough to turn down several offers WHILE STILL respecting the sharks enough for them to wish him well. Good work

🙌🙌🙌🙌✨ I was just commenting the same thing! , he got the paper and pen to make sure it makes sense ❤️ ✨🙌🙌🙌✨
I would be so embarrassed to grab a pen and paper in front of the sharks who do it all in their head or just on paper where we don’t see/have such experience doing it on the fly. Truly a great confident and intelligent man
He should have taken marks offer idk why he declined that
frankly i wouldn't be surprised if he became a shark himself
You don't need pen and paper to realize the usurious nature of the proposed $0.20 fixed cost on his product. Specially on a growing business. Specially
Proud of this dude, he came on the show knowing exactly what he wanted and wasn't going to be leveraged into giving away more than he was comfortable with. He kept his aim true in the face of giants.

Lol he did it on purpose. It's crazy how dumb this audience is. He never wanted an offer, just clout to show off his product. Consumer America truly is lost.
i dont agree taking marks deal wouldve helped tbh
He declined offers, made sharks come back in and still declined their offers. Confidence in his ability and his potential at its finest.
🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
Or wasn't looking to get an offer at all and just using the show to make sales.
It's not about confidence.
Him being confident is a consequence of him knowing his business, what it needs, and what kind of deal he was ready to accept or not.

This is my favorite shark tank pitch ever. Extremely smart, respectful, great product, and just seemed like a really down to earth, genuine guy.
This guy's a genius marketer. He sets his margins low cause he's not greedy like the sharks, and than advertises that to the world. I wouldn't consider buying them if they were like $3 a pack but now I will.
Yeah, and 20 cents per for a royalty on something that sells for, what, a buck 25 is insane. That's 16 percent off the top when his margins are only like 22%. There is NO WAY he could have made that deal. The nickel deal was actually quite fair. That's about 100k per year, at 10 years, that's a million dollars. I wouldn't take the deal if I were a shark but it's MUCH closer to reality than the 20 cent royalty. Maybe a nickel royalty plus 2% equity or something.
@@user-nh3gu1ge3d Yeah, I would've done the nickel deal but ask for 5% equity.

I'm sure this guy is happy. He got what he wanted. A HUGE uptick in his online sales as a result of being on the show and brand awareness.

09:17 Kevin gulping when he asked for pen & a paper. Priceless!
This guy knew his numbers and his business so well. You can tell he's been doing this for a longtime and has thought about the numbers quite a bit. On top of all of that he is an extremely personable and likeable guy which makes the product even more palatable, believe it or not people don't realize the power of a strong and likeable personality/character to enhance the product that you are presenting.
If there is something that I have learned on this show it is that half of the sale is selling yourself. Any business person calculates the individual's personality they will be dealing with, and what context the product was formed in and how everything is taken care of.
Case and point: Mark Cuban was out in the beginning, but then you heard him say towards the end "I like David, I really like David..." and then Mr. Cuban came back in on the deal... Why? Because David sold himself which gave more value to the product.
I’m going to buy some cheese from Him because He was respectful and a smart man. Love the fact Mark came back and Lori back out before He declined her was funny
And he had a fine hat.
I think it can appeal to most. Packaging and branding is spot on. The guy's father must be one of the proudest in the world. Although he was given the opportunity for free, he really ran with his education and self fulfilment. Many kids have been given similar opportunities and squandered them. Very nice to see, a pleasure to listen to.
Lori's genuine burst of laughter at 9:33 is hilarious when the entrepreneur calls out Kevin. David is a sharp entrepreneur, not bowing into pressure, humble (talks about how he's a bit sad he couldn't get a deal for his wife and family), and is incredibly respectful of everyone. Hope his business is an incredible success!
I like this entrepreneur, he has the balls to stand up for himself and say what needs to be said, good on him. The only thing I would say is that he is coming to their table for help, and he offers them a chance at doubling their money. No investor would go on a boat with him like that. It's just not enough. The 15% From Mark was definitely a fair deal. He probably would have come down a little if pushed but 15% is fair, the guy is too emotional about his business but is forgetting he is asking for half a million. A blooming business that has been established a decade ago is worth the calculated value with those sales, but a company that only just begun has no stability and is therefore a huge risk. Any investor knows this.
10% equity + 5% advisory shares
Except, the company is already making high returns, with space to increase margins. Mark would be taking 15% of something that is already mostly built and just needs funding to expand
The business is already stable, he said he just want to increase margin by adding volume, but the sharks just wanted to make money out of him by doubling his workload and still get the same profit, he will expand, but he aint getting profit, just the shark
15% isnt reasonable that's why Mark said "fair enough" when the guy rejected his offer
15% for such an established company isn't a fair deal.
He didn't need the investment, for sure. He'll be singing his way to the bank because of the sales he gets from the millions that saw him on Shark Tank and order his products. Smart man!
Lori with the “ you can’t fire me, I quit” energy lol
i like the way how he can actually get in the space where the sharks talk. Everybody was really listening to him unlike all the previous episodes i watched, when someone is explaining, most of them butt in and say non sense. This guy is destined to be great.
Very good. At the end of the day, he got good exposure as an established brand without pissing off anyone. He got some bad offers. I was surprised by Kevin's offer because it was awful this time. Regular Kevin would have offered something creative like 10 cents until the initial investment is paid and 5 cents after that or 7 cents until $750,000 and 5% equity afterward.
This guy got the point and was very professional, but not too serious. Great presentation.
Lol he left Kevin and Lori speechless 😂. Lori felt so embarrassed that she just pulled out the deal instead of embarrassing herself further lol
A business man who knows his worth. I’m glad he didn’t back down and settle for any of the sharks.
This is a rare time where I think the person pitching may have been smart to walk away. The business was already booming, and while I shark might have been able to help him skip ahead a year or so in growth, I think the equity or royalty cost would have cancelled it out.
I love when the sharks are actually customers of these moderately obscure products.

Half the people online say they are too espensive.. globalism has really stuffed us on filers and cheap products. Hell many people didnt like the taste..we have been raised on the taste of processed fake cheese...so people dont even feel familiar with real Wisconsin cheese. Crazy stuff
That's why he didn't accept that deal. Low price is his USP. He didn't want to ruin it with sharks
@@claudeyaz Are you really complaining that people don't like the taste of caviar, filet mignon, and lobster? Shame people don't like expensive foods... 💀
Hands down one of the best or even the best negotiations on the show.
The best part of the video is at the beginning when Lori says "cheesehead." So precious. Lori is smart, savvy and very cute. Mark is the star of the show because of his decency, strong intellect and incredible insights into the entrepreneurs' character and capabilities.
Lori, backing out after she realized that she's getting declined 😂😂😂
He could've held onto more equity with Mark if he gave him a small royalty. He could've said 7.5% with a nickel royalty until Mark recouped half of his investment.
He'll be fine. Shark Tank will boost his sales for sure, they have a great product
What a G! This man knows his value and stuck to it. I love that, hope his business skyrocketed after this!
5:43 Ms Swan impression 😂
This guy knows his stuff. Lori was like, " I'm out, I'm in again to I'm out again when she smelled a " refusal". He outsharked the sharks. Lori
you want to go in and out of that person
She knew what he was going to say so to save face, she went out. LOL

This guy came on the show to advertise. Wasn't looking for a deal. Good for him.
I've noticed a lot of people get caught in the sharks offers, whether it's excitement or desperation for cash flow. David is not like them, he knows his worth and did not get lost in the excitement. Well done, and stay cheesy my man.
“David make a counter”
Says Robert with a mouth full of Just The Cheese lol
Cheese man is the so far the best with his magical words and countering the Sharks .... 👍
The cheese dude seems to be a good guy. I wish even more success in his idea.
He is smart! He is kind! I hope he gets everything he wants in life he deserves it! I’m going to buy his products now!
He's all over Amazon for sure, already successful. I'm definitely going to buy his cheese snacks to try them, I love cheese snacks lol!
